1 “Then the Kingdom of Heaven will be like ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went out to meet the bridegroom.
1Daymi deg wussan-nni, tagelda n igenwan aț-țecbu ɣer ɛecṛa telmeẓyin i geddmen tiftilin-nsent iwakken ad ṛuḥent ad mmagrent isli.
2 Five of them were foolish, and five were wise.
2Xemsa seg-sent ț-țuḥṛicin, xemsa nniḍen ț-țungifin.
3 Those who were foolish, when they took their lamps, took no oil with them,
3Mi d-ddment tungifin-nni tiftilin nsent, ur d-wwint ara zzit yid-sent.
4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
4Ma ț-țuḥṛicin-nni, wwint-ed yid-sent tiqbucin n zzit.
5 Now while the bridegroom delayed, they all slumbered and slept.
5Imi i gɛeṭṭel yesli, tilmeẓyin-nni nuddment dɣa ṭsent.
6 But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Behold! The bridegroom is coming! Come out to meet him!’
6Di tlemmast n yiḍ, yiwet n taɣect tɛeggeḍ-ed : Ataya yesli iteddu-d, ffɣemt a t-temmagremt !
7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. The end of the wick of an oil lamp needs to be cut off periodically to avoid having it become clogged with carbon deposits. The wick height is also adjusted so that the flame burns evenly and gives good light without producing a lot of smoke.
7Imiren kan ukint-ed akk telmeẓyin-nni, heggant tiftilin-nsent.
8 The foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’
8Tungifin-nni nnant i tuḥṛicin : Fkemt-aɣ-d kra si zzit-nkunt, tiftilin-nneɣ qṛib ad xsint.
9 But the wise answered, saying, ‘What if there isn’t enough for us and you? You go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’
9Tuḥṛicin rrant-asent : Ulamek, ur aɣ-d-tkeffu ara i nekkunti d kunemti, ṛuḥemt a d taɣemt i yiman-nkunt ɣer wid yeznuzun.
10 While they went away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut.
10Mi ṛuḥent a d-aɣent, isli yewweḍ-ed, tuḥṛicin-nni iheggan iman-nsent kecment yid-es ɣer wexxam n tmeɣṛa, dɣa rran-d tawwurt.
11 Afterward the other virgins also came, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us.’
11Mi i d-wwḍent tungifin-nni, bdant țɛeggiḍent : A Sidi, a Sidi ldi-yaɣ-d tawwurt.
12 But he answered, ‘Most certainly I tell you, I don’t know you.’
12Meɛna nețța yerra-yasent-ed : A kunt-iniɣ tideț : ur kkunt ssineɣ ara !
13 Watch therefore, for you don’t know the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.
13Daymi a wen-iniɣ : Ɛasset, imi ur teẓrim ass, ur teẓrim lweqt.
14 “For it is like a man, going into another country, who called his own servants, and entrusted his goods to them.
14Ass n tuɣalin n Mmi-s n bunadem ad yili daɣen am yiwen wergaz i gțeddun ad iṛuḥ ɣer lɣeṛba, yesnejmaɛ-ed iqeddacen-is, iwekkel iten ɣef wayen akk yesɛa.
15 To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one; to each according to his own ability. Then he went on his journey.
15Ifka i umezwaru xemsmeyya twiztin n ddheb, wi sin yefka-yas mitin, wis tlata yefka-yas meyya ; yefka i yal yiwen s wakken tella tezmert-is, dɣa iṛuḥ.
16 Immediately he who received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents.
16Imiren kan, aqeddac-nni iwumi yefka xemsmeyya twiztin, iṛuḥ yetjeṛ yis-sent, irbeḥ-ed xemsmeyya nniḍen.
17 In the same way, he also who got the two gained another two.
17Ula d win iwumi yefka mitin, ixdem akken, irbeḥ-ed mitin nniḍen.
18 But he who received the one went away and dug in the earth, and hid his lord’s money.
18Ma d win iwumi yefka meyya, iṛuḥ yeɣza di lqaɛa, yeffer tiwiztin-nni i s-d-ifka umɛellem-is.
19 “Now after a long time the lord of those servants came, and reconciled accounts with them.
19Mi gɛedda lweqt, yuɣal-ed umɛellem-nni, isnejmaɛ-iten-id iwakken ad imḥasab yid-sen.
20 He who received the five talents came and brought another five talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents. Behold, I have gained another five talents besides them.’
20Win akken iwumi yefka xemsmeyya twiztin, yusa-d yewwi-d yid-es xemsmeyya twiztin nniḍen, yenna-yas : A Sidi tefkiḍ-iyi-d xemsmeyya twiztin n ddheb, a tent-ih xemsmeyya nniḍen i d-rebḥeɣ yis-sent.
21 “His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’
21Amɛellem-is yenna-yas : D ayen yelhan i txedmeḍ ay aqeddac unṣiḥ, imi deg-ek laman ɣef tɣawsiwin timecṭuḥin, sya d asawen a k-wekkleɣ ɣef timeqqranin ! Ili-k di lfeṛḥ yid-i !
22 “He also who got the two talents came and said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents. Behold, I have gained another two talents besides them.’
22Aqeddac-nni iwumi yefka mitin twiztin n ddheb, iqeṛṛeb-ed ula d nețța, yenna-yas : A Sidi tefkiḍ-iyi mitin twiztin n ddheb, a tent-ih mitin nniḍen i d-rebḥeɣ yis-sent.
23 “His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’
23Amɛellem-is yenna-yas : D ayen yelhan i txedmeḍ, ay aqeddac unṣiḥimi deg-k laman ɣef tɣawsiwin timecṭuḥin, sya d asawen a k-wekkleɣ ɣef timeqqranin ! Ili-k di lfeṛḥ yid-i !
24 “He also who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you that you are a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter.
24Iwweḍ-ed win akken iwumi yefka meyya twiztin, yenna yas : A Sidi ẓriɣ-k d argaz iweɛṛen, tmeggreḍ anda ur tezriɛeḍ, tjemmɛeḍ seg wennar ayen ur tesrewteḍ ,
25 I was afraid, and went away and hid your talent in the earth. Behold, you have what is yours.’
25dɣa uggadeɣ-k, daymi i ṛuḥeɣ ffreɣ deg wakal tiwiztin-nni i yi-tefkiḍ. Atan wayla-k, ddem-it !
26 “But his lord answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant. You knew that I reap where I didn’t sow, and gather where I didn’t scatter.
26Amɛellem-is yenna-yas : Ay aqeddac amcum, ameɛdaz ! Imi iyi-teẓriḍ meggreɣ-d anda ur zriɛeɣ, jemmɛeɣ-ed daɣen anda ur srewteɣ,
27 You ought therefore to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received back my own with interest.
27acuɣeṛ ihi ur tessekraḍ ara idrimin-iw iwakken m'ara d-uɣaleɣ a ten-id-erreɣ s lfayda.
28 Take away therefore the talent from him, and give it to him who has the ten talents.
28Imiren amɛellem-nni yumeṛ i iqeddacen-is yenna-yasen : Kkset-as meyya-nni twiztin ternum-tent i win yesɛan ɛecṛa alef n twiztin !
29 For to everyone who has will be given, and he will have abundance, but from him who doesn’t have, even that which he has will be taken away.
29Axaṭer kra win yesɛan, a s-nernu ad yili di tawant, ma d win ur nesɛi ara, a s-nekkes ula d ayen yesɛa.
30 Throw out the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
30Ma d aqeddac-agi ur nemɛin, ḍeggṛet-eț ɣer ṭṭlam n beṛṛa anda ara yilin imeṭṭawen d nndama tameqqrant.
31 “But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory.
31Asm'ara d-yas Mmi-s n bunadem di tmanegt-is nețța d lmalayekkat meṛṛa, ad iḥkem di lɛaḍima-s ;
32 Before him all the nations will be gathered, and he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
32leǧnas meṛṛa a d-nnejmaɛen zdat-es, a ten-ifṛeq am umeksa iɛeSlen ulli ɣef tɣeṭṭen.
33 He will set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
33Ad yerr ulli ɣer uyeffus-is, tiɣeṭṭen ɣer uzelmaḍ-is.
34 Then the King will tell those on his right hand, ‘Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world;
34Imiren agellid ad yini i wid yellan ɣer uyeffus-is : Aset-ed a kunwi iburek Baba, aț-țweṛtem tagelda i wen-ițțuheggan seg wasmi i tebda ddunit.
35 for I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me drink. I was a stranger, and you took me in.
35Axaṭer lliɣ lluẓeɣ tefkam-iyi ččiɣ, ffudeɣ tefkam-iyi swiɣ, usiɣ-ed d abeṛṛani testeṛḥbem yis-i,
36 I was naked, and you clothed me. I was sick, and you visited me. I was in prison, and you came to me.’
36lliɣ d aɛeryan tesselsem-iyi, d amuḍin telham-d yid-i, lliɣ daɣen d ameḥbus tusam-d teẓram-iyi.
37 “Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you; or thirsty, and give you a drink?
37Imiren iḥeqqiyen a s-d-rren : A Sidi melmi i k-neẓra telluẓeḍ, nefka-yak teččiḍ ? Neɣ neẓra-k teffuḍeḍ nefka-yak teswiḍ ?
38 When did we see you as a stranger, and take you in; or naked, and clothe you?
38Melmi daɣen i d-tusiḍ d abeṛṛani nesṭeṛḥeb yis-ek, neɣ melmi i k-nwala d aɛeryan, nessels-ik ?
39 When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?’
39Melmi i k-neẓra d amuḍin neɣ di lḥebs nusa-d ɣuṛ-ek ?
40 “The King will answer them, ‘Most certainly I tell you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers The word for “brothers” here may be also correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.” , you did it to me.’
40Agellid a sen-d-yerr : A wen-iniɣ tideț, yal tikkelt i deg txedmem ayagi i yiwen seg imecṭuḥen-agi yellan d atmaten-iw, i nekk iwumi t-txedmem.
41 Then he will say also to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels;
41Imiren ad yini i wid yellan ɣer uẓelmaḍ-is : Beɛdet akkin fell-i a kunwi yețwaneɛlen, ṛuḥet ɣer tmes n dayem yețwaheggan i Cciṭan d wid i t- tebɛen.
42 for I was hungry, and you didn’t give me food to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me no drink;
42Axaṭer lliɣ lluẓeɣ ur iyi tesseččem ara, ffudeɣ ur iyi-tefkim ara ad sweɣ,
43 I was a stranger, and you didn’t take me in; naked, and you didn’t clothe me; sick, and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’
43usiɣ-ed d abeṛṛani ur tesṭerḥbem ara yis-i, lliɣ d aɛeryan ur iyi tesselsem ara, lliɣ daɣen d amuḍin, d ameḥbus, ur d-tusim ara aț-țesteqsim fell-i.
44 “Then they will also answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and didn’t help you?’
44Imiren ula d nutni a s-d-rren : A Sidi, melmi i k-neẓra telluẓeḍ neɣ teffudeḍ d abeṛṛani neɣ d aɛeryan, d amuḍin neɣ d ameḥbus, ur d-nelhi ara yid-ek ?
45 “Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Most certainly I tell you, inasmuch as you didn’t do it to one of the least of these, you didn’t do it to me.’
45Nețța a sen-d-yerr : A wen-iniɣ tideț : yal tikkelt i deg ur texdimem ara ayagi i yiwen seg imecṭuḥen-agi, i nekk iwumi ur t-texdimem ara.
46 These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
46Imiren widak-agi ad kecmen ɣer lɛiqab ur nfennu, ma d iḥeqqiyen ad kecmen ɣer tudert n dayem !
