1Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s chosen ones, and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness,
1Nekk Bulus aqeddac n Sidi Ṛebbi, i d-iceggeɛ Ɛisa Lmasiḥ iwakken ad ssiwleɣ i wid akk yextaṛ Sidi Ṛebbi a d-uɣalen ɣer webrid-is yerna ad issinen tideț,
2in hope of eternal life, which God, who can’t lie, promised before time began;
2akken ad țeklen belli sɛan tudert n dayem, tudert i gewɛed Sidi Ṛebbi uqbel a d-tețwaxleq ddunit nețța ur neskiddib ara.
3but in his own time revealed his word in the message with which I was entrusted according to the commandment of God our Savior;
3Yefka-d awal-is di lweqt ilaqen, ibeggen-it-id di lexbaṛ i yi-d yețțunefken s lameṛ n Sidi Ṛebbi amsellek-nneɣ.
4to Titus, my true child according to a common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior.
4Uriɣ-ed tabṛaț-agi i kečč, a Tit a mmi n tideț di liman i ɣ-yesdukklen : ṛṛeḥma ț-țalwit a k-d-țțunefkent s ɣuṛ Sidi Ṛebbi akk-d Ɛisa Lmasiḥ amsellek-nneɣ !
5I left you in Crete for this reason, that you would set in order the things that were lacking, and appoint elders in every city, as I directed you;
5?ǧiɣ-k di tegzirt n Kritus iwakken aț-țkemmleḍ ccɣel-nni ur nfuk ara, yerna aț-țesbeddeḍ di yal tamdint imeqqranen n tejmuyaɛ n imasiḥiyen akken i k-n-umṛeɣ.
6if anyone is blameless, the husband of one wife, having children who believe, who are not accused of loose or unruly behavior.
6Yal yiwen deg-sen ilaq ad yili d amdan iwumi ur d-ssukksen acemma, ad yesɛu yiwet tmeṭṭut kan, arraw-is ad ilin d wid iḍuɛen Sidi Ṛebbi, ad sɛun tikli yelhan, ad țțaɣen awal iwakken ur sen-d-ssukkusen ara wiyaḍ kra n diri.
7For the overseer must be blameless, as God’s steward; not self-pleasing, not easily angered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for dishonest gain;
8but given to hospitality, a lover of good, sober minded, fair, holy, self-controlled;
8Lameɛna ilaq-as ad yili d win yețqabalen s wudem lɛali, d bab lxiṛ, d aɛeqli, d aḥeqqi, d win yețḍuɛun Sidi Ṛebbi, d win iḥekkmen deg iman-is ;
9holding to the faithful word which is according to the teaching, that he may be able to exhort in the sound doctrine, and to convict those who contradict him.
9ilaq ad yeṭṭef deg awal n Sidi Ṛebbi yellan ț-țideț akken i t-yelmed, iwakken ad yizmir ad isselmed, ad inhu wiyaḍ yerna a d-isbeggen i wid i d-yekkaten deg awal-agi, belli ɣelṭen.
10For there are also many unruly men, vain talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision,
10Aṭas seg wat Isṛail i gɛuṣan Sidi Ṛebbi yerna țkellixen medden s imeslayen-nsen,
11whose mouths must be stopped; men who overthrow whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for dishonest gain’s sake.
11ilaq a sen-terrem tikmamin i yimawen-nsen. Skarayen lhul deg yexxamen m'ara sselmaden ayen ur nlaq ara, iwakken ad rebḥen leḥṛam.
12One of them, a prophet of their own, said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, and idle gluttons.”
12Yiwen seg-sen i ḥesben d nnbi, yenna-d : « at țegzirt n Kritus si zik-nsen d imeskaddaben, d lewḥuc iweɛṛen, d ifenyanen yețxemmimen kan ad ččen ' ' ;
13This testimony is true. For this cause, reprove them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith,
13ayagi i d-yenna ț-țideț. Daymi, ilaq a ten-tenhuḍ s lewɛaṛa, iwakken ad sɛun liman iseḥḥan ;
14not paying attention to Jewish fables and commandments of men who turn away from the truth.
14ur ilaq ara ad țḥessisen i tmucuha n wudayen akk-d lewṣayat n yemdanen ur neqbil ara tideț.
15To the pure, all things are pure; but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.
15Kullec zeddig i wid zeddigen, meɛna ulac ayen zeddigen i wid ur nzeddig ara, ur nețțamen ara s Ṛebbi ; imi xemmimen-nsen d wulawen-nsen neǧsen yerna ur țendemmayen ara.
16They profess that they know God, but by their works they deny him, being abominable, disobedient, and unfit for any good work.
16Imdanen-agi qqaṛen nessen Ṛebbi, meɛna cceṛ i xeddmen yesbeggin-ed belli ur t-ssinen ara, ɛuṣan Sidi Ṛebbi xeddmen anagar wayen yekṛeh, ur zmiren ara ad xedmen ayen yelhan.
