2 Chronicles

25

1Amaziah was twenty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Jehoaddan, of Jerusalem.
1b xcaßcßâl chihab cuan re laj Amasías nak qui-oc chokß rey. Belêb xcaßcßâl chihab quicuan saß xcuanquil saß li tenamit Jerusalén. Lix naß, aßan xJoadán xcßabaß. Jerusalén xtenamit.
2He did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, but not with a perfect heart.
2Laj Amasías quixbânu li us chiru li Kâcuaß. Abanan moco anchal ta xchßôl nak quixbânu.
3Now it happened, when the kingdom was established to him, that he killed his servants who had killed the king his father.
3Nak ac xakxo saß xnaßaj lix cuanquil li rey Amasías quixtakla xcamsinquileb laj cßanjel chiru li queßcamsin re li rey Joás lix yucuaß.
4But he didn’t put their children to death, but did according to that which is written in the law in the book of Moses, as Yahweh commanded, saying, “The fathers shall not die for the children, neither shall the children die for the fathers; but every man shall die for his own sin.”
4Abanan incßaß quixtakla xcamsinquil li ralal xcßajoleb. Quixbânu ban li quixye li Kâcuaß joß tzßîbanbil saß li chakßrab li quiqßueheß re laj Moisés nak li Kâcuaß quixye: —Eb li naßbej yucuaßbej incßaß teßcamsîk xban li mâc li queßxbânu li alal cßajolbej, chi moco li alal cßajolbej teßcamsîk xban lix mâqueb lix naß xyucuaßeb. Tixtoj ban xmâc li ani cuan xmâc.
5Moreover Amaziah gathered Judah together, and ordered them according to their fathers’ houses, under captains of thousands and captains of hundreds, even all Judah and Benjamin: and he numbered them from twenty years old and upward, and found them three hundred thousand chosen men, able to go forth to war, who could handle spear and shield.
5Li rey Amasías quixchßutubeb chixjunileb li cuînk xcomoneb li ralal xcßajol laj Judá ut laj Benjamín. Quixqßueheb chi chßûtal aß yal aniheb li rechßalal. Quixxakabeb li teßtaklânk saß xbêneb li jûnk mil chi soldado joß ajcuiß saß xbêneb li jûnk ciento chi soldado. Li cuînk li queßajlâc ac xeßxbânu junmay chihab. Oxib ciento mil chixjunileb. 6He hired also one hundred thousand mighty men of valor out of Israel for one hundred talents of silver.
6Quixbok ajcuiß jun ciento mil chi soldado aj Israel ut quixtojeb riqßuin oxlaju xcâcßâl quintal li plata.
7A man of God came to him, saying, “O king, don’t let the army of Israel go with you; for Yahweh is not with Israel, with all the children of Ephraim.
7Jun xprofeta li Dios quicuulac riqßuin laj Amasías ut quixye re: —At rey, eb li soldado aj Israel incßaß naru nequeßxic chi pletic châcuix xban nak moco cuan ta li Dios riqßuineb laj Israel, chi moco cuan ta riqßuineb li ralal xcßajol laj Efraín.
8But if you will go, take action, be strong for the battle. God will overthrow you before the enemy; for God has power to help, and to overthrow.”
8Usta cau êchßôl nak yôkex chi pletic, abanan li Dios texkßaxtesi saß rukßeb li xicß nequeßiloc êre. Li Dios, aßan cuan xcuanquil chi tenkßânc ut cuan ajcuiß xcuanquil chêcanabanquil chi sachecß, chan.
9Amaziah said to the man of God, “But what shall we do for the hundred talents which I have given to the army of Israel?” The man of God answered, “Yahweh is able to give you much more than this.”
9Laj Amasías quixye re: —¿Cßaßru tâcanâk cuiß li oxlaju xcâcßâl quintal li plata li xinqßue reheb li soldado aßin? chan. Ut li profeta quixye re: —Li Dios naru tixqßue âcue nabal chic chiru aßan, chan.
10Then Amaziah separated them, the army that had come to him out of Ephraim, to go home again: therefore their anger was greatly kindled against Judah, and they returned home in fierce anger.
10Joßcan nak laj Amasías quixtaklaheb saß rochocheb lix soldâdeb laj Efraín. Mâ caßchßin nak quichal xjoskßileb saß xbêneb laj Judá nak queßsukßi saß li rochocheb.
11Amaziah took courage, and led forth his people, and went to the Valley of Salt, and struck ten thousand of the children of Seir.
11Ut li rey Amasías quixcacuubresi xchßôl ut quixcßameb lix soldados saß li ru takßa cuan cuiß li atzßam. Ut aran queßxcamsiheb lajêb mil li soldado re li tenamit Seir.
12The children of Judah carry away ten thousand alive, and brought them to the top of the rock, and threw them down from the top of the rock, so that they all were broken in pieces.
12Eb li soldado aj Judá queßxchap ajcuiß lajêb mil chi cuînk chi yoßyôqueb. Ut queßxcßameb toj saß xbên jun li sakônac ut aran queßxtolcßosiheb ut pedasinbileb chic nak coxeßnak toj takßa.
13But the men of the army whom Amaziah sent back, that they should not go with him to battle, fell on the cities of Judah, from Samaria even to Beth Horon, and struck of them three thousand, and took much spoil.
13Nak yô chi cßulmânc aßan, eb li soldado aj Israel li queßtaklâc saß rochocheb, queßoc saß eb li tenamit li cuanqueb Judá naticla chak Samaria ut nacuulac toj Bet-horón. Queßxcamsiheb oxib mil chi cristian ut nabal li cßaßak re ru queßrelkßa saß eb li tenamit aßan.
14Now it happened, after that Amaziah had come from the slaughter of the Edomites, that he brought the gods of the children of Seir, and set them up to be his gods, and bowed down himself before them, and burned incense to them.
14Nak laj Amasías quisukßi chixcamsinquileb laj Edom, quixcßameb saß lix tenamit lix dioseb laj Seir ut qui-oc chixlokßoninquileb. Quixcuikßib rib chiruheb ut quixcßat lix mayej chiruheb.
15Therefore the anger of Yahweh was kindled against Amaziah, and he sent to him a prophet, who said to him, “Why have you sought after the gods of the people, which have not delivered their own people out of your hand?”
15Cßajoß nak quixchikß xjoskßil li Dios laj Amasías. Li Dios quixtakla lix profeta riqßuin ut li profeta quixye re: —¿Cßaßut nak nacalokßoniheb li yîbanbil dios aßin li incßaß queßru xcolbaleb laj Edom châcuu lâex? chan.
16It happened, as he talked with him, that the king said to him, “Have we made you one of the king’s counselors? Stop! Why should you be struck down?” Then the prophet stopped, and said, “I know that God has determined to destroy you, because you have done this, and have not listened to my counsel.”
16Toj yô ajcuiß chi âtinac nak li rey quixye re: —¿Ani xxakaban âcue chi qßuehoc innaßleb? Cui incßaß tâcanab âtinac, lâin tintakla âcamsinquil, chan. Ut li profeta quixcanab xqßuebal xnaßleb ut quixye re: —Lâin ninnau nak li Dios tixsach âcuu xban nak xabânu li incßaß us aßin ut incßaß xacßul li naßleb li xinqßue raj âcue, chan.
17Then Amaziah king of Judah consulted his advisers, and sent to Joash, the son of Jehoahaz the son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, “Come, let us look one another in the face.”
17Ut li rey Amasías quiâtinac riqßuineb li nequeßqßuehoc xnaßleb ut queßxcßûb ru cßaßru tixbânu. Chirix aßan quixtakla xyebal re laj Joás lix reyeb laj Israel nak tâchâlk chi pletic riqßuin. Laj Joás, aßan li ralal laj Joacaz ut ri laj Jehú.
18Joash king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, “The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, ‘Give your daughter to my son as his wife; then a wild animal that was in Lebanon passed by, and trampled down the thistle.
18Abanan laj Joás lix reyeb laj Israel quixtakla xyebal li jaljôquil ru âtin aßin re laj Amasías lix reyeb laj Judá: —Sa jun li cutan jun tôn li qßuix quixtakla xyebal re li cheß chacalteß li cuan Líbano li âtin aßin, “Qßue lâ rabin chokß rixakil li cualal”, chan. Ut jun li joskß aj xul quinumeß ut quixyekßi saß rok li jun tôn chi qßuix.
19You say to yourself that you have struck Edom; and your heart lifts you up to boast. Now stay at home. Why should you meddle with trouble, that you should fall, even you, and Judah with you?’”
19At rey Amasías, lâat yôcat chixyebal nak xatnumta saß xbêneb laj Edom. Joßcan nak yôcat chixnimobresinquil âcuib ut tâcuaj nak tâqßuehekß âlokßal. Kßaxal us nak tatcanâk saß lâ tenamit. ¿Cßaßru aj e nak tâchßic âcuib lâat saß chßaßajquilal ut tâchßiqueb laj Judá saß chßaßajquilal? chan li rey Joás.
20But Amaziah would not listen; for it was of God, that he might deliver them into the hand of their enemies, because they had sought after the gods of Edom.
20Laj Amasías incßaß qui-abin chiru xban nak ac cuan saß xchßôl li Dios nak tixkßaxtesi laj Amasías saß rukß li rey Joás. Quixbânu chi joßcan xban nak quixtiquib xlokßoninquil li jalanil dios li queßxlokßoni eb laj Edom.
21So Joash king of Israel went up; and he and Amaziah king of Judah looked one another in the face at Beth Shemesh, which belongs to Judah.
21Joßcan nak laj Joás lix reyeb laj Israel cô aran Bet-semes li cuan saß xcuênt Judá chi pletic riqßuin laj Amasías lix reyeb laj Judá.
22Judah was defeated by Israel; and they fled every man to his tent.
22Eb lix soldado laj Judá queßtßaneß saß rukßeb laj Israel. Joßcan nak queßêlelic ut queßcôeb saß rochocheb.
23Joash king of Israel took Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Joash the son of Jehoahaz, at Beth Shemesh, and brought him to Jerusalem, and broke down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim to the corner gate, four hundred cubits.
23Laj Joás lix reyeb laj Israel quixchap laj Amasías lix reyeb laj Judá saß li tenamit Bet-semes. Laj Amasías, aßan li ralal laj Joás ut ri laj Joacaz. Chirix aßan laj Joás quixcßam laj Amasías Jerusalén. Ut queßxjucß jun ciento metro riqßuin câcßâl metro li tzßac li sutsu cuiß li tenamit Jerusalén. Naticla cuan cuiß li oquebâl Efraín ut nacuulac toj cuan cuiß li oquebâl li cuan saß xuc.
24He took all the gold and silver, and all the vessels that were found in God’s house with Obed-Edom, and the treasures of the king’s house, the hostages also, and returned to Samaria.
24Li rey Joás quixcßam chixjunil li oro ut li plata joß eb ajcuiß chixjunil li secß li cuan saß lix templo li Dios li cuanqueb saß xcuênt laj Obed-edom. Quixcßam ajcuiß chixjunil li terto xtzßak li cuan saß rochoch li rey. Ut quixcßameb chi prêxil nabaleb li cuanqueb xcuanquil ut quisukßi cuißchic Samaria.
25Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah lived after the death of Joash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel fifteen years.
25Laj Amasías, li ralal laj Joás lix reyeb laj Judá, toj quicuan oßlaju chihab chic nak ac xcam laj Joás lix reyeb laj Israel. Laj Joás aßan li ralal laj Joacaz li quicuan chokß xreyeb laj Israel.
26Now the rest of the acts of Amaziah, first and last, behold, aren’t they written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel?

27Now from the time that Amaziah turned away from following Yahweh, they made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem. He fled to Lachish; but they sent after him to Lachish, and killed him there.
27Chalen nak laj Amasías quixcanab xlokßoninquil li Kâcuaß, eb li tenamit li cuanqueb Jerusalén queßxcßûb ru chanru nak teßxcamsi. Laj Amasías quiêlelic chiruheb ut cô toj Laquis.
