John

10

1 “Most certainly, I tell you, one who doesn’t enter by the door into the sheep fold, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
1Relic chi yâl tinye êre, li ani na-oc sa' xcorraleb li carner chi inc'a' na-oc sa' li tz'akal oquebâl re li corral, li jun a'an aj êlk'.
2 But one who enters in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
2Abanan li ani na-oc sa' li tz'akal oquebâl re li corral, li jun a'an aj ilol reheb li carner.
3 The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out.
3Li nac'ac'alen re li oquebâl naxnau ru a'an ut naxte li oquebâl chiru. Ut eb li carner neque'xnau ru li xyâb xcux nak naxbokeb chi xjûnkaleb riq'uin lix c'aba'eb ut narisiheb sa' li corral.
4 Whenever he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.
4Nak ac xrisiheb, naxberesiheb ut eb li carner neque'xtâke xban nak neque'xnau ru xyâb lix cux.
5 They will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him; for they don’t know the voice of strangers.”
5Abanan junak li inc'a' neque'xnau ru, mâ jok'e te'xtâke. Êlelic ban chic te'xbânu chiru xban nak inc'a' neque'xnau ru xyâb lix cux, chan li Jesús.
6Jesus spoke this parable to them, but they didn’t understand what he was telling them.
6A'an a'in li jaljôquil ru âtin li quixye li Jesús reheb. Abanan inc'a' que'xtau ru lix yâlal.
7Jesus therefore said to them again, “Most certainly, I tell you, I am the sheep’s door.
7Jo'can nak li Jesús quixye cui'chic reheb: -Relic chi yâl ninye êre, Lâin li oquebâl reheb li te'pâbânk cue.
8 All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep didn’t listen to them.
8Chixjunileb li que'c'ulun xbên cua chicuu lâin, a'aneb aj êlk'eb ut aj balak'eb. Ut eb li neque'pâban cue, inc'a' neque'xpâb li c'a'ru neque'xye.
9 I am the door. If anyone enters in by me, he will be saved, and will go in and go out, and will find pasture.
9Lâin li oquebâl. Chixjunileb li neque'pâban cue lâin, te'colek' ut lâin tin-ilok reheb. Chanchaneb li carner li neque'oc ut neque'el ut neque'xtau lix cuaheb.
10 The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.
10Laj êlk' nachal chi elk'ac ut chi camsînc ut chi sachoc. Lâin xinchal re nak tâcuânk êyu'am chi tz'akal. Tâcuânk êyu'am chi junelic.
11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
11Lâin chanchanin jun li châbil pastor. Junak châbil pastor naxk'axtesi lix yu'am sa' xc'aba'eb lix carner.
12 He who is a hired hand, and not a shepherd, who doesn’t own the sheep, sees the wolf coming, leaves the sheep, and flees. The wolf snatches the sheep, and scatters them.
12Junak tojbil môs mâcua' tz'akal pastor xban nak mâcua' a'an laj êchal re li carner. Naril nak yô chi châlc laj xoj, naxcanabeb li carner ut naêlelic. Ut laj xoj naxchapeb li carner ut naxcha'cha'i ruheb.
13 The hired hand flees because he is a hired hand, and doesn’t care for the sheep.
13Li tojbil môs naêlelic xban nak yal môs. A'an inc'a' naxq'ue xch'ôl chixcolbaleb li carner.
14 I am the good shepherd. I know my own, and I’m known by my own;
14Lâin chanchanin jun châbil pastor. Lâin ninnau ruheb li cualal inc'ajol. Ut eb a'an neque'xnau cuu lâin.
15 even as the Father knows me, and I know the Father. I lay down my life for the sheep.
15Jo' nak lin yucua' naxnau cuu lâin, jo'can ajcui' nak ninnau ru lin yucua' ut tink'axtesi cuib chi camsîc re xcolbaleb li cualal inc'ajol.
16 I have other sheep, which are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will hear my voice. They will become one flock with one shepherd.
16Cuanqueb ajcui' cualal inc'ajol jalaneb xtenamiteb. Tento nak lâin tinc'ameb chak. Eb a'an te'rabi ajcui' xyâb lin cux. Ut junajakeb chic ru nak te'cuânk ut junak ajcui' laj ilol reheb.
17 Therefore the Father loves me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it again.
17Ninxra li Yucua'bej xban nak lâin tink'axtesi cuib chi camsîc ut tinc'ul cui'chic lin yu'am.
18 No one takes it away from me, but I lay it down by myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. I received this commandment from my Father.”
18Mâ ani tâq'uehok cue chi camsîc cui inc'a' nacuaj lâin. Xban nak lâin nacuaj, tink'axtesi cuib chi camsîc. Cuan incuanquil chixk'axtesinquil lin yu'am. Ut cuan ajcui' incuanquil chixc'ulbal cui'chic lin yu'am. A'an a'in li quixye cue lin Yucua' nak tento tinbânu, chan li Jesús.
19Therefore a division arose again among the Jews because of these words.
19Ut xban nak jalan jalânk yôqueb chixc'oxlanquil chirix li quixye li Jesús, quicuan cui'chic jachoc ib sa' xyânkeb.
20Many of them said, “He has a demon, and is insane! Why do you listen to him?”
20Nabaleb que'yehoc re: -Cuan mâus aj musik'ej riq'uin. Inc'a' tuktu xjolom. ¿C'a'ut nak nequerabi li c'a'ru naxye a'an? chanqueb.
21Others said, “These are not the sayings of one possessed by a demon. It isn’t possible for a demon to open the eyes of the blind, is it?”
21Ut cuanqueb cui'chic yôqueb xyebal: -Inc'a' naru tââtinak chi jo'can cui cuan mâus aj musik'ej riq'uin. ¿Ma târûk ta bi' tixq'ue chi iloc junak mutz' cui cuan mâus aj musik'ej riq'uin? chanqueb.
22It was the Feast of the Dedication at Jerusalem.

23It was winter, and Jesus was walking in the temple, in Solomon’s porch.
23Ut li Jesús yô chi bêc sa' li templo bar cuan cui' li oquebâl Salomón xc'aba'.
24The Jews therefore came around him and said to him, “How long will you hold us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.”
24Quisute' xbaneb laj judío ut que'xye re: -¿Jok'e tâye ke chi tz'akal anihat? ¿Ma yal yôkat chixq'uebal kac'a'ux? ¿Ma lâat li Mesías, li yechi'inbil xban li Dios? Cui lâat li Cristo, ye ke chi tz'akal anakcuan, chanqueb.
25Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you don’t believe. The works that I do in my Father’s name, these testify about me.
25Li Jesús quixye reheb: -Ac xinye êre anihin ut inc'a' niquinêpâb. Li milagros li yôquin chixbânunquil sa' xc'aba' lin Yucua', a'an naxc'ut chi tz'akal anihin.
26 But you don’t believe, because you are not of my sheep, as I told you.
26Lâex inc'a' niquinêpâb xban nak lâex mâcua'ex cualal inc'ajol.
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.
27Eb li cualal inc'ajol neque'rabi li c'a'ru ninye. Lâin ninnauheb ru ut eb a'an neque'xbânu li c'a'ru ninye.
28 I give eternal life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.
28Lâin tinq'ueheb xyu'am chi junelic. Inc'a' te'osok' ut mâ ani târûk tâmak'ok reheb chicuu.
29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of my Father’s hand.
29Lin Yucua' li k'axal nim xcuanquil chiruheb chixjunil, a'an li quik'axtesin reheb sa' cuuk'. Mâ ani naru tâmak'ok reheb chiru a'an.
30 I and the Father are one.”

31Therefore Jews took up stones again to stone him.
31Ut eb laj judío que'xchap xpequeb ut que'raj cui'chic xcutbal chi pec.
32Jesus answered them, “I have shown you many good works from my Father. For which of those works do you stone me?”
32Li Jesús quixye reheb: -Nabal li châbilal xinbânu chêru jo' quic'utbesîc chicuu xban lin Yucua'. ¿Bar cuan reheb li châbil c'anjel a'in li xinbânu tinêcuti cui' chi pec? chan.
33The Jews answered him, “We don’t stone you for a good work, but for blasphemy: because you, being a man, make yourself God.”
33Eb a'an que'chak'oc ut que'xye: -Inc'a' tatkacut chi pec xban li châbilal xabânu. Tatkacut chi pec xban nak nacajuntak'êta âcuib riq'uin li Dios. Lâat yal cuînkat. Moco Diosat ta jo' yôcat chixyebal, chanqueb re li Jesús.
34Jesus answered them, “Isn’t it written in your law, ‘I said, you are gods?’
34Li Jesús quixye reheb: -¿Ma inc'a' ta bi' tz'îbanbil retalil sa' lê chak'rab nak li Dios quixye reheb li que'c'uluc re li râtin "diosex lâex"? (Sal. 82:6)
35 If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture can’t be broken),
35Nakanau nak inc'a' naru takaye nak inc'a' yâl li tz'îbanbil sa' li Santil Hu. Li Dios quixye "dios" reheb li quixxakab.
36 do you say of him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You blaspheme,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God?’
36Li Acuabej Dios xsic'oc cuu ut xinixtakla chak sa' ruchich'och'. ¿C'a'ut nak nequeye lâex nak yôquin chixmajecuanquil li Dios riq'uin nak ninye nak lâin li Ralal?

37Cui lâin inc'a' yôquin chixbânunquil li c'a'ru naraj lin Yucua', mêpâb nak lâin li Ralal li Dios.
38 But if I do them, though you don’t believe me, believe the works; that you may know and believe that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.”
