Revelation

9

1The fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star from the sky which had fallen to the earth. The key to the pit of the abyss was given to him.
1Ut li ro' ángel quixyâbasi lix trompeta ut quicuil nak jun li chahim quit'ane' chak sa' choxa ut quinak sa' ruchich'och'. Ut quiq'uehe' re li chahim lix lacuil li chamal jul nak quicuil.
2He opened the pit of the abyss, and smoke went up out of the pit, like the smoke from a burning furnace. The sun and the air were darkened because of the smoke from the pit.
2Nak quixte li re li chamal jul, c'ajo' li sib qui-el chak. Chanchan li sib li na-el sa' junak nimla horno. Quik'ojyîno' ru li sak'e ut li ik' xban li sib li qui-el chak sa' li chamal jul.
3Then out of the smoke came forth locusts on the earth, and power was given to them, as the scorpions of the earth have power.
3Sa' li sib a'an que'el chak nabaleb li xul chanchaneb laj sâc' ut que'xjeq'ui ribeb sa' ruchich'och'. Que'q'uehe' xcuanquil re nak te'ti'ok. Lix may li te'xtiu, a'an chanchan xmay li neque'xtiu laj xôc'.
4They were told that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree, but only those people who don’t have God’s seal on their foreheads.
4Que'yehe' reheb nak inc'a' te'xch'e' li pim chi moco li acuîmk sa' ruchich'och', chi moco junak che'. Ca'aj cui' eb li cristian li mâc'a' retalileb sa' xpêquemeb xban li Dios, ca'aj cui' eb a'an li te'ti'ek'.
5They were given power not to kill them, but to torment them for five months. Their torment was like the torment of a scorpion, when it strikes a person.
5Ut que'yehe' ajcui' reheb nak inc'a' te'xcamsi li cristian. Ca'aj cui' te'xrahobtesiheb chiru ôb po. Ut lix rahil li te'xtiu li xul a'an, chanchan xmay naxtiu laj xôc'.
6In those days people will seek death, and will in no way find it. They will desire to die, and death will flee from them.
6Sa' eb li cutan a'an, eb li cristian te'xsic' raj xcamiqueb xban li raylal yôkeb chixc'ulbal. Te'xra raj ru câmc, abanan inc'a' te'câmk.
7The shapes of the locusts were like horses prepared for war. On their heads were something like golden crowns, and their faces were like people’s faces.
7Eb laj sâc' chanchaneb li cacuây ac cauresinbileb chi pletic. Chanchan cuanqueb xcorona yîbanbil riq'uin oro sa' xjolomeb. Ut li rilobâleb chanchan rilobâleb cuînk.
8They had hair like women’s hair, and their teeth were like those of lions.
8Li rismal xjolomeb chanchan rismal xjolomeb ixk ut li ruch reheb, chanchan ruch reheb cakcoj.
9They had breastplates, like breastplates of iron. The sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots, or of many horses rushing to war.
9Chanchan ch'îch' cuan chire xch'ôleb re xcolbaleb rib. Ut lix xiq'ueb neque'ec'an jo' neque'ec'an q'uila carruaje quelonbil xban cacuây nak ac yôqueb chi xic chi pletic.
10They have tails like those of scorpions, and stings. In their tails they have power to harm men for five months.
10Eb li xul a'an cuanqueb xmay sa' ru'ujeb xye. Ut riq'uin lix ye neque'ti'oc jo' laj xôc'. Ut riq'uineb lix ye te'xrahobtesiheb li tenamit chiru ôb po.
11They have over them as king the angel of the abyss. His name in Hebrew is “Abaddon,” but in Greek, he has the name “Apollyon.”
11Cuan jun li nataklan sa' xbêneb. A'an li ángel li k'axal nim xcuanquil chi taklânc sa' li chamal jul. Aj Abadón xc'aba' sa' li âtinobâl hebreo, ut sa' griego aj Apolión xc'aba'. (Chi jalbil ru li c'aba'ej a'in naraj naxye "aj sachonel".)
12The first woe is past. Behold, there are still two woes coming after this.
12A'in li xbên raylal li quic'ulman nak quicuil. Abanan toj cuan cuib chic li raylal li te'châlk sa' xbêneb li tenamit.
13The sixth angel sounded. I heard a voice from the horns of the golden altar which is before God,
13Li xcuak ángel quixyâbasi lix trompeta ut quicuabi jun xyâb cux quiâtinac chak sa' xyânkeb li câhib chi xucub li cuanqueb sa' xcâ xucûtil li artal li yîbanbil riq'uin oro, li cuan chiru li Dios.
14saying to the sixth angel who had one trumpet, “Free the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates!”
14Quixye re li xcuak ángel li cuan xtrompeta riq'uin: -Hiteb li câhib chi ángel li bac'bôqueb chire li nima' Eufrates, chan.
15The four angels were freed who had been prepared for that hour and day and month and year, so that they might kill one third of mankind.
15Que'ach'abâc li câhib chi ángel li ac xakabanbileb re li hônal a'an ut re li cutan a'an ut re li po a'an ut re li chihab a'an re nak te'xic xcamsinquileb nabaleb li cristian. Ca'ch'in chic mâ yijach li cristian li te'camsîk.
16The number of the armies of the horsemen was two hundred million . I heard the number of them.
16Lâin quicuabi jo' q'uialeb li soldado li te'xic chi pletic chirix cacuây. Cuib ciento millón lix q'uialeb.
17Thus I saw the horses in the vision, and those who sat on them, having breastplates of fiery red, hyacinth blue, and sulfur yellow; and the heads of lions. Out of their mouths proceed fire, smoke, and sulfur.
17Jo'ca'in nak que'cuil sa' li visión eb li cacuây ut eb li yôqueb chi xic chirix. Eb li yôqueb chi xic chirix li cacuây cuanqueb xcolbal li re xch'ôleb. Chanchan xcakal li xam, chanchan xraxil li châbil pec zafiro ut chanchan xk'anal li azufre. Lix jolomeb li cacuây chanchan lix jolomeb li cakcoj. Ut sa' reheb yô chi êlc xam, sib ut azufre.
18By these three plagues were one third of mankind killed: by the fire, the smoke, and the sulfur, which proceeded out of their mouths.
18Xban li oxib chi raylal a'in ca'ch'in chic mâ yijach li cristian que'camsîc. Nabaleb li cristian que'camsîc xban li xam, li sib ut li azufre li qui-el chak sa' reheb li cacuây.
19For the power of the horses is in their mouths, and in their tails. For their tails are like serpents, and have heads, and with them they harm.
19Sa' reheb cuanqueb xmay ut cuanqueb ajcui' sa' ru'ujeb xye. Lix yeheb chanchan xjolomeb li c'anti' ut riq'uin a'an neque'xrahobtesiheb li cristian.
20The rest of mankind, who were not killed with these plagues, didn’t repent of the works of their hands, that they wouldn’t worship demons, and the idols of gold, and of silver, and of brass, and of stone, and of wood; which can neither see, nor hear, nor walk.
20Ut li jo' q'uial chic li cristian li inc'a' que'camsîc xban li raylal a'an inc'a' ajcui' que'yot'e' xch'ôleb ut inc'a' que'xcanab xbânunquil li mâusilal. Inc'a' que'xcanab xlok'oninquil li mâus aj musik'ej chi moco que'xcanab xlok'oninquileb li jalanil dios yîbanbil riq'uin oro, plata, k'an ch'îch' bronce jo' ajcui' riq'uin pec ut che'. Inc'a' que'xcanab xlok'oninquileb li yîbanbil dios a'in, li inc'a' neque'iloc, chi moco neque'abin, chi moco neque'bêc.Inc'a' que'xjal xc'a'uxeb chi moco que'yot'e' xch'ôleb xban nak inc'a' que'xcanab xcamsinquil ras rîtz'ineb ut inc'a' que'xcanab li tûlac, chi moco que'xcanab li co'bêtac yumbêtac ut inc'a' ajcui' que'xcanab li elk'ac.
21They didn’t repent of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their sexual immorality, nor of their thefts.
21Inc'a' que'xjal xc'a'uxeb chi moco que'yot'e' xch'ôleb xban nak inc'a' que'xcanab xcamsinquil ras rîtz'ineb ut inc'a' que'xcanab li tûlac, chi moco que'xcanab li co'bêtac yumbêtac ut inc'a' ajcui' que'xcanab li elk'ac.
