¹Don’t rebuke an older man, but exhort him as a father; the younger men as brothers;

²the elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, in all purity.

²vyresnio amžiaus moteris­kaip motinas, o jaunesnes­kaip seseris, laikydamasis visiško skaistumo.

³Honor widows who are widows indeed.

⁴But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them learn first to show piety towards their own family, and to repay their parents, for this is TR adds “good and” acceptable in the sight of God.

⁴Jei kuri našlė turi vaikų ar vaikaičių, tegul šie pirmiausia išmoksta rūpintis savo namiškiais ir deramai atsilyginti gimdytojams, nes tai patinka Dievui.

⁵Now she who is a widow indeed, and desolate, has her hope set on God, and continues in petitions and prayers night and day.

⁵Tikra našlė, palikusi viena, pasitiki Dievu, maldauja ir meldžiasi dieną ir naktį.

⁶But she who gives herself to pleasure is dead while she lives.

⁶Bet našlė, gyvenanti malonumais, dar gyva būdama, yra mirusi.

⁷Also command these things, that they may be without reproach.

⁷Todėl tai įsakyk, kad jos būtų be priekaišto.

⁸But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.

⁸Jeigu kas neaprūpina savųjų, ir ypač savo namiškių, tas yra paneigęs tikėjimą ir blogesnis už netikintį!

⁹Let no one be enrolled as a widow under sixty years old, having been the wife of one man,

⁹Į našlių sąrašą įtrauk tokią našlę, kuriai ne mažiau kaip šešiasdešimt metų, kuri buvo žmona vieno vyro,

¹⁰being approved by good works, if she has brought up children, if she has been hospitable to strangers, if she has washed the saints’ feet, if she has relieved the afflicted, and if she has diligently followed every good work.

¹⁰jeigu ji pasižymėjo gerais darbais, jei išauklėjo vaikus, jei buvo svetinga, jei plaudavo šventiesiems kojas, jei pagelbėdavo vargstantiems, jei stengdavosi dirbti visokį gerą darbą.

¹¹But refuse younger widows, for when they have grown wanton against Christ, they desire to marry;

¹¹Jaunesnių našlių nepriimk. Pasiduodamos gašlumui, o ne Kristui, jos nori ištekėti

¹²having condemnation, because they have rejected their first pledge.

¹²ir yra smerktinos, nes pameta ankstesnį tikėjimą.

¹³Besides, they also learn to be idle, going about from house to house. Not only idle, but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not.

¹³Be to, jos išmoksta dykinėti, landžiodamos iš namų į namus, ir ne tik dykinėti, bet plepėti, kištis į svetimus reikalus bei kalbėti, kas nedera.

¹⁴I desire therefore that the younger widows marry, bear children, rule the household, and give no occasion to the adversary for insulting.

¹⁴Taigi norėčiau, kad jaunesnės ištekėtų, augintų vaikus, šeimininkautų ir neduotų priešininkui jokios progos apkalboms.

¹⁵For already some have turned aside after Satan.

¹⁵Nes kai kurios jau nuklydo paskui šėtoną.

¹⁶If any man or woman who believes has widows, let them relieve them, and don’t let the assembly be burdened; that it might relieve those who are widows indeed.

¹⁶Jei kuris tikintis vyras ar moteris turi pas save našlių, tegul jas aprūpina, kad bažnyčia nebūtų apsunkinama ir įstengtų padėti tikrosioms našlėms.

¹⁷Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and in teaching.

¹⁷Gerai vadovaujantys vyresnieji tebūna laikomi vertais dvigubos pagarbos, ypač tie, kurie dirba, skelbdami žodį ir mokydami.

²²Lay hands hastily on no one, neither be a participant in other men’s sins. Keep yourself pure.

²²Skubotai niekam neuždėk rankų ir neprisidėk prie svetimų nuodėmių; išsilaikyk tyras.

²³Be no longer a drinker of water only, but use a little wine for your stomach’s sake and your frequent infirmities.

²³Negerk vien gryno vandens, bet vartok truputį vyno dėl savo skrandžio ir dažnų negalavimų.

²⁴Some men’s sins are evident, preceding them to judgment, and some also follow later.

²⁴Kai kurių žmonių nuodėmės matomos iki teismo, o kai kurių paaiškėja tik vėliau.

²⁵In the same way also there are good works that are obvious, and those that are otherwise can’t be hidden.

²⁵Taip pat ir geri darbai visiems matomi, o jei pasitaiko kitaip, jų vis tiek negalima paslėpti.
