1Oh that my head were waters, and my eyes a spring of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!
1O kad mano galva būtų vandens šaltinis, ir akys ašarų versmė, kad dieną ir naktį galėčiau apraudoti savo tautos užmuštuosius!
2Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging place of wayfaring men; that I might leave my people, and go from them! for they are all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men.
2Jei dykumoje turėčiau pastogę, palikčiau savo tautą ir eičiau ten! Nes jie visi svetimaujaneištikimųjų gauja.
3They bend their tongue, as their bow, for falsehood; and they are grown strong in the land, but not for truth: for they proceed from evil to evil, and they don’t know me, says Yahweh.
3“Jie sulenkia savo liežuvį melui kaip lanką. Jie nepakyla už tiesą žemėje. Jie eina iš pikto į piktą, o manęs nepažįsta”,sako Viešpats.
4Take heed everyone of his neighbor, and don’t trust in any brother; for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbor will go about with slanders.
4“Saugokitės artimo, nepasitikėkite broliu, nes brolis elgiasi klastingai, o artimas skleidžia šmeižtus.
5They will deceive everyone his neighbor, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies; they weary themselves to commit iniquity.
5Vienas apgauna kitą, jie nekalba tiesos. Jie išmokė savo liežuvius kalbėti melą, elgiasi suktai, kol pavargsta.
6Your habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me, says Yahweh.
6Tu gyveni apsuptas apgaulių. Dėl savo apgaulių jie atsisako pažinti mane”,sako Viešpats.
7Therefore thus says Yahweh of Armies, Behold, I will melt them, and try them; for how should I deal with the daughter of my people?
7Todėl taip sako kareivijų Viešpats: “Aš juos išlydysiu ir mėginsiu, nes kaip kitaip galėčiau pasielgti su tokia tauta?
8Their tongue is a deadly arrow; it speaks deceit: one speaks peaceably to his neighbor with his mouth, but in his heart he lays wait for him.
8Jų liežuvis yra mirtina strėlė, jų žodžiaiklasta. Jie taikiai kalba su savo artimu, bet savo širdyje spendžia jam žabangus.
9Shall I not visit them for these things? says Yahweh; shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
9Ar dėl to neturėčiau jų bausti? sako Viešpats,ar šitokiai tautai neturėčiau atkeršyti?”
10For the mountains will I take up a weeping and wailing, and for the pastures of the wilderness a lamentation, because they are burned up, so that none passes through; neither can men hear the voice of the livestock; both the birds of the sky and the animals are fled, they are gone.
10Dėl kalnų verksiu ir dejuosiu, dėl ganyklų raudosiu, nes jos sunaikintos; niekas nebekeliauja per juos, nebesigirdi ir galvijų balso. Net padangių paukščiai ir žvėrys pasitraukė.
11I will make Jerusalem heaps, a dwelling place of jackals; and I will make the cities of Judah a desolation, without inhabitant.
11Aš padarysiu Jeruzalę akmenų krūva, šakalų lindyne ir Judo miestus paversiu negyvenama dykuma.
12Who is the wise man, that may understand this? Who is he to whom the mouth of Yahweh has spoken, that he may declare it? Why is the land perished and burned up like a wilderness, so that none passes through?
12Kas yra toks išmintingas, kad tai suprastų? Kam Viešpats kalbėjo, kad jis tai paskelbtų, kodėl šalis sunaikinta lyg dykuma, kad niekas nebekeliauja per ją?
13Yahweh says, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein,
13Viešpats tarė: “Kadangi jie atmetė mano įstatymą, kurį jiems daviau, nepakluso mano balsui ir nesielgė pagal jį,
14but have walked after the stubbornness of their own heart, and after the Baals, which their fathers taught them;
14bet sekė savo širdies užgaidas ir Baalą, kaip jų tėvai juos mokė,
15therefore thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink.
15todėl Aš juos valgydinsiu metėlėmis, girdysiu karčiu vandeniu
16I will scatter them also among the nations, whom neither they nor their fathers have known; and I will send the sword after them, until I have consumed them.
16ir išsklaidysiu tarp tautų, kurių nepažino nei jie, nei jų tėvai. Iš paskos pasiųsiu kardą, kol juos visai sunaikinsiu”.
17Thus says Yahweh of Armies, Consider, and call for the mourning women, that they may come; and send for the skillful women, that they may come:
17Taip sako kareivijų Viešpats: “Pašaukite raudotojų, kad jos ateitų,
18and let them make haste, and take up a wailing for us, that our eyes may run down with tears, and our eyelids gush out with waters.
18kad jos atskubėtų ir giedotų raudą apie mus ir mes susigraudinę verktume”.
19For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, How are we ruined! we are greatly confounded, because we have forsaken the land, because they have cast down our dwellings.
19Rauda girdėti iš Siono: “Mes sunaikinti, visai sugėdinti! Mes turime palikti gimtinę, mūsų gyvenvietės sunaikintos”.
20Yet hear the word of Yahweh, you women, and let your ear receive the word of his mouth; and teach your daughters wailing, and everyone her neighbor lamentation.
20Klausykitės jūs, moterys, Viešpaties žodžio ir priimkite Jo pamokymą. Mokykite savo dukteris raudoti ir kaimynes apverkti.
21For death has come up into our windows, it is entered into our palaces; to cut off the children from outside, and the young men from the streets.
21Mirtis įėjo pro langus, įsilaužė į mūsų namus. Ji žudo vaikus gatvėse, jaunuolius aikštėse.
22Speak, Thus says Yahweh, The dead bodies of men shall fall as dung on the open field, and as the handful after the harvester; and none shall gather them.
22Taip sako Viešpats: “Žmonių lavonai bus išmėtyti kaip mėšlas laukuose, kaip pėdai užpakalyje pjovėjo. Ir niekas jų nesurinks”.
23Thus says Yahweh, Don’t let the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, don’t let the rich man glory in his riches;
23Taip sako Viešpats: “Išmintingasis tenesigiria savo išmintimi, stiprusissavo stiprybe, o turtingasissavo turtais.
24but let him who glories glory in this, that he has understanding, and knows me, that I am Yahweh who exercises loving kindness, justice, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, says Yahweh.
24Kas nori girtis, tegul giriasi, kad supranta ir pažįsta mane, kad AšViešpats, kuris vykdau malonę, teismą ir teisingumą žemėje, nes tai man patinka,sako Viešpats”.
25Behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that I will punish all those who are circumcised in uncircumcision:
25“Ateis diena, kai Aš bausiu visus apipjaustytuosius ir neapipjaustytuosius:
26Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that have the corners of their hair cut off, who dwell in the wilderness; for all the nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in heart.
26Egiptą, Judą, Edomą, Amoną, Moabą ir visus, gyvenančius dykumoje. Nes visos tautos yra neapipjaustytos ir Izraelis yra neapipjaustytas širdyje”,sako Viešpats.
