¹Jesus answered and spoke again in parables to them, saying,

¹Jėzus vėl kalbėjo palyginimais:

² “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a certain king, who made a marriage feast for his son,

²“Su dangaus karalyste yra panašiai kaip su karaliumi, kuris kėlė savo sūnui vestuves.

³ and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the marriage feast, but they would not come.

³Jis išsiuntė tarnus šaukti pakviestųjų į vestuvių pokylį, bet tie nenorėjo ateiti.

⁴ Again he sent out other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “Behold, I have prepared my dinner. My cattle and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the marriage feast!”’

⁴Tada jis vėl siuntė kitus tarnus, liepdamas: ‘Sakykite pakviestiesiems: Štai surengiau pokylį, mano jaučiai ir nupenėti veršiai papjauti, ir viskas paruošta. Ateikite į vestuves!’

⁵ But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his merchandise,

⁵Tačiau kviečiamieji jo nepaisė ir nuėjo kas sau: vienas į ūkį, kitas prekiauti,

⁶ and the rest grabbed his servants, and treated them shamefully, and killed them.

⁶o kiti tarnus nutvėrę išniekino ir užmušė.

⁷ When the king heard that, he was angry, and sent his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.

⁷Tai išgirdęs, karalius užsirūstino ir, išsiuntęs kariuomenes, sunaikino tuos žmogžudžius ir padegė jų miestą.

⁸ “Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding is ready, but those who were invited weren’t worthy.

⁸Tuomet jis tarė savo tarnams: ‘Vestuvės surengtos, bet pakviestieji nebuvo verti.

⁹ Go therefore to the intersections of the highways, and as many as you may find, invite to the marriage feast.’

⁹Todėl eikite į kryžkeles ir, ką tik rasite, kvieskite į vestuves’.

¹⁰ Those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together as many as they found, both bad and good. The wedding was filled with guests.

¹⁰Tarnai išėjo į kelius ir surinko visus, ką tik sutiko, blogus ir gerus. Ir vestuvės buvo pilnos svečių.

¹¹ But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man who didn’t have on wedding clothing,

¹¹Karalius atėjo pasižiūrėti svečių ir pamatė žmogų, neapsirengusį vestuviniu drabužiu.

¹² and he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here not wearing wedding clothing?’ He was speechless.

¹²Jis tarė jam: ‘Bičiuli, kaip čia įėjai, neturėdamas vestuvių drabužio?’ Tasai tylėjo.

¹³ Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and throw him into the outer darkness; there is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.’

¹³Tada karalius paliepė tarnams: ‘Suriškite jam rankas ir kojas ir išmeskite jį laukan į tamsybes. Ten bus verksmas ir dantų griežimas’.

¹⁴ For many are called, but few chosen.”

¹⁴Nes daug pašauktų, bet maža išrinktų”.

¹⁵Then the Pharisees went and took counsel how they might entrap him in his talk.

¹⁵Tuomet fariziejai pasitraukė ir tarėsi, kaip Jį sugauti kalboje.

¹⁶They sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that you are honest, and teach the way of God in truth, no matter whom you teach, for you aren’t partial to anyone.

¹⁶Jie nusiuntė pas Jį savo mokinių kartu su erodininkais, kurie klausė: “Mokytojau, mes žinome, kad esi tiesus, mokai Dievo kelio, kaip reikalauja tiesa, ir niekam nepataikauji, nes neatsižvelgi į asmenis.

¹⁷Tell us therefore, what do you think? Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”

¹⁷Tad pasakyk mums, kaip manai: reikia mokėti ciesoriui mokesčius ar ne?”

¹⁸But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, “Why do you test me, you hypocrites?

¹⁸Suprasdamas jų klastą, Jėzus tarė: “Kam spendžiate man pinkles, veidmainiai?

¹⁹ Show me the tax money.” They brought to him a denarius.

¹⁹Parodykite man mokesčių pinigą!” Jie padavė Jam denarą.

²⁰He asked them, “Whose is this image and inscription?”

²⁰Jis paklausė: “Kieno čia atvaizdas ir įrašas?”

²¹They said to him, “Caesar’s.” Then he said to them, “Give therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”

²¹Jie atsakė: “Ciesoriaus”. Tuomet Jėzus jiems tarė: “Atiduokite tad, kas ciesoriaus, ciesoriui, o kas Dievo­Dievui”.

²²When they heard it, they marveled, and left him, and went away.

²²Tai girdėdami, jie stebėjosi ir, palikę Jį, nuėjo.

²³On that day Sadducees (those who say that there is no resurrection) came to him. They asked him,

²³Tą pačią dieną atėjo pas Jį sadukiejų, kurie nepripažįsta mirusiųjų prisikėlimo, ir klausė:

²⁴saying, “Teacher, Moses said, ‘If a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed for his brother.’

²⁴“Mokytojau, Mozė yra pasakęs: ‘Jei kas mirtų bevaikis, tegul jo brolis veda jo žmoną ir pažadina savo broliui palikuonių’.

²⁵Now there were with us seven brothers. The first married and died, and having no seed left his wife to his brother.

²⁵Štai pas mus buvo septyni broliai. Pirmasis vedęs mirė ir, neturėdamas vaikų, paliko žmoną savo broliui.

²⁶In the same way, the second also, and the third, to the seventh.

²⁶Taip atsitiko antrajam ir trečiajam iki septintojo.

²⁷After them all, the woman died.

²⁷Po jų visų numirė ir ta moteris.

²⁸In the resurrection therefore, whose wife will she be of the seven? For they all had her.”

²⁸Tad kurio iš septynių ji bus žmona prisikėlime? Juk visi yra ją turėję”.

²⁹But Jesus answered them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God.

²⁹Jėzus jiems atsakė: “Jūs klystate, nepažindami nei Raštų, nei Dievo jėgos.

³⁰ For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are like God’s angels in heaven.

³⁰Prisikėlime nei ves, nei tekės, bet bus kaip Dievo angelai danguje.

³¹ But concerning the resurrection of the dead, haven’t you read that which was spoken to you by God, saying,

³¹O apie mirusiųjų prisikėlimą ar neskaitėte, kas jums Dievo pasakyta:

³² ‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?’ Exodus 3:6 God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”

³²‘Aš esu Abraomo Dievas, Izaoko Dievas ir Jokūbo Dievas’. Dievas nėra mirusiųjų Dievas, bet gyvųjų!”

³³When the multitudes heard it, they were astonished at his teaching.

³³Tai girdėdama, minia stebėjosi Jo mokymu.

³⁴But the Pharisees, when they heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, gathered themselves together.

³⁴Fariziejai, išgirdę, kad Jėzus nutildė sadukiejus, susirinko kartu,

³⁵One of them, a lawyer, asked him a question, testing him.

³⁵ir vienas iš jų, Įstatymo mokytojas, mėgindamas Jį, paklausė:

³⁶“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law?”

³⁶“Mokytojau, koks įsakymas yra didžiausias Įstatyme?”

³⁷Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ Deuteronomy 6:5

³⁷Jėzus jam atsakė: “ ‘Mylėk Viešpatį, savo Dievą, visa savo širdimi, visa savo siela ir visu savo protu’.

³⁸ This is the first and great commandment.

³⁸Tai pirmasis ir didžiausias įsakymas.

³⁹ A second likewise is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ Leviticus 19:18

³⁹Antrasis­panašus į jį: ‘Mylėk savo artimą kaip save patį’.

⁴⁰ The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.”

⁴⁰Šitais dviem įsakymais remiasi visas Įstatymas ir Pranašai”.

⁴¹Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question,

⁴¹Kol fariziejai tebebuvo susirinkę, Jėzus juos paklausė:

⁴²saying, “What do you think of the Christ? Whose son is he?” They said to him, “Of David.”

⁴²“Ką jūs manote apie Kristų? Kieno Jis Sūnus?” Jie atsakė: “Dovydo”.

⁴³He said to them, “How then does David in the Spirit call him Lord, saying,

⁴³Jis tarė jiems: “O kodėl gi Dovydas, Dvasios įkvėptas, vadina Jį Viešpačiu, sakydamas:

⁴⁴ ‘The Lord said to my Lord, sit on my right hand, until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet?’ Psalm 110:1

⁴⁴‘Viešpats tarė mano Viešpačiui: sėskis mano dešinėje, kol patiesiu Tavo priešus tarsi pakojį po Tavo kojų’.

⁴⁵ “If then David calls him Lord, how is he his son?”

⁴⁵Jei tad Dovydas vadina Jį Viešpačiu, kaipgi tada Jis gali būti jo Sūnus?”

⁴⁶No one was able to answer him a word, neither did any man dare ask him any more questions from that day forth.

⁴⁶Ir nė vienas negalėjo Jam atsakyti nė žodžio, ir niekas nedrįso nuo tos dienos Jį klausinėti.
