¹Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

³The tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”

³Prie Jo prisiartino gundytojas ir tarė: “Jei Tu Dievo Sūnus, liepk, kad šie akmenys pavirstų duona”.

⁴But he answered, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.’” Deuteronomy 8:3

⁴Bet Jėzus atsakė: “Parašyta: ‘Žmogus gyvens ne viena duona, bet kiekvienu žodžiu, išeinančiu iš Dievo lūpų’ ”.

⁵Then the devil took him into the holy city. He set him on the pinnacle of the temple,

⁵Tada velnias paėmė Jį į šventąjį miestą, pastatė ant šventyklos šelmens

⁶and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, ‘He will put his angels in charge of you.’ and, ‘On their hands they will bear you up, so that you don’t dash your foot against a stone.’” Psalm 91:11-12

⁶ir tarė Jam: “Jei Tu Dievo Sūnus, pulk žemyn, nes parašyta: ‘Jis lieps savo angelams globoti Tave, ir jie nešios Tave ant rankų, kad neužsigautum kojos į akmenį’ ”.

⁷Jesus said to him, “Again, it is written, ‘You shall not test the Lord, your God.’” Deuteronomy 6:16

⁷Jėzus jam atsakė: “Taip pat parašyta: ‘Negundyk Viešpaties, savo Dievo’ ”.

⁸Again, the devil took him to an exceedingly high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world, and their glory.

⁸Velnias vėl paėmė Jį į labai aukštą kalną ir, rodydamas viso pasaulio karalystes bei jų šlovę,

⁹He said to him, “I will give you all of these things, if you will fall down and worship me.”

⁹tarė Jam: “Visa tai aš Tau atiduosiu, jei parpuolęs pagarbinsi mane”.

¹⁰Then Jesus said to him, “Get behind me, TR and NU read “Go away” instead of “Get behind me” Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and you shall serve him only.’” Deuteronomy 6:13

¹⁰Tada Jėzus jam atsakė: “Eik šalin nuo manęs, šėtone! Nes parašyta: ‘Viešpatį, savo Dievą, tegarbink ir Jam vienam tetarnauk!’ ”

¹¹Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and served him.

¹¹Tuomet velnias nuo Jo atsitraukė, ir štai angelai prisiartino ir Jam tarnavo.

¹²Now when Jesus heard that John was delivered up, he withdrew into Galilee.

¹²Išgirdęs, kad Jonas suimtas, Jėzus pasitraukė į Galilėją.

¹³Leaving Nazareth, he came and lived in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali,

¹³Jis paliko Nazaretą ir apsigyveno Kafarnaume, prie ežero, kur susieina Zabulono ir Neftalio sritys,

¹⁴that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying,

¹⁴kad išsipildytų, kas buvo pasakyta per pranašą Izaiją:

¹⁵“The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, toward the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles,

¹⁵“Zabulono ir Neftalio žeme! Paežerės juosta, žeme už Jordano­pagonių Galilėja!

¹⁶the people who sat in darkness saw a great light, to those who sat in the region and shadow of death, to them light has dawned.” Isaiah 9:1-2

¹⁶Tamsybėje sėdinti tauta išvydo skaisčią šviesą, gyvenantiems mirties šalyje ir šešėlyje užtekėjo šviesa”.

¹⁷From that time, Jesus began to preach, and to say, “Repent! For the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.”

¹⁷Nuo to laiko Jėzus pradėjo pamokslauti, skelbdamas: “Atgailaukite, nes prisiartino dangaus karalystė!”

¹⁸Walking by the sea of Galilee, he TR reads “Jesus” instead of “he” saw two brothers: Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew, his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.

¹⁸Vaikščiodamas palei Galilėjos ežerą, Jėzus pamatė du brolius­ Simoną, vadinamą Petru, ir jo brolį Andriejų­metančius tinklą į ežerą; mat jie buvo žvejai.

¹⁹He said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you fishers for men.”

¹⁹Jis tarė jiems: “Sekite paskui mane, ir Aš padarysiu jus žmonių žvejais”.

²⁰They immediately left their nets and followed him.

²⁰Tuodu tuojau paliko tinklus ir nusekė paskui Jį.

²¹Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. He called them.

²¹Paėjęs toliau, Jis pamatė kitus du brolius­Zebediejaus sūnų Jokūbą ir jo brolį Joną. Jiedu su savo tėvu Zebediejumi valtyje taisė tinklus. Jėzus juos pašaukė,

²²They immediately left the boat and their father, and followed him.

²²ir tie, tučtuojau palikę valtį ir tėvą, nusekė paskui Jį.

²³Jesus went about in all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the Good News of the Kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people.

²³Jėzus vaikščiojo po visą Galilėją, mokydamas sinagogose, pamokslaudamas karalystės Evangeliją ir gydydamas visas žmonių ligas bei negalias.

²⁴The report about him went out into all Syria. They brought to him all who were sick, afflicted with various diseases and torments, possessed with demons, epileptics, and paralytics; and he healed them.

²⁴Garsas apie Jį pasklido visoje Sirijoje. Žmonės nešė pas Jį visus sergančius, įvairiausių ligų bei kentėjimų suimtus, demonų apsėstus, nakvišas bei paralyžiuotus,­ir Jis išgydydavo juos.

²⁵Great multitudes from Galilee, Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea and from beyond the Jordan followed him.

²⁵Paskui Jį sekė didelės minios žmonių iš Galilėjos, Dekapolio, Jeruzalės, Judėjos ir Užjordanės.
