1“Call now; is there any who will answer you? To which of the holy ones will you turn?
1“अय्यूब, यदि तिमी चाहन्छौ भने डाकी पठाऊ तर कसैले पनि तिमीलाई जवाफ दिनेछैन। कुन पवित्र पुरूषले तिमीलाई फर्काउनेछ?
2For resentment kills the foolish man, and jealousy kills the simple.
2मूर्ख मानिसको क्रोधले उसलाई नै मार्नेछ। सरल मानिसको उग्र आवेशले उसलाई नै मार्नेछ।
3I have seen the foolish taking root, but suddenly I cursed his habitation.
3मैले एकजना मूर्ख मानिसलाई देखें। उसले आफू सबै सुरक्षित मान्थ्यो तर अचानक उसको घर श्रापित भयो।
4His children are far from safety. They are crushed in the gate. Neither is there any to deliver them,
4उसको नानीहरूलाई सहयोग गर्ने त्यहाँ कोही थिएन। अदालतमा उनीहरूका पक्षमा बोलिदिने कोही थिएन।
5whose harvest the hungry eats up, and take it even out of the thorns. The snare gapes for their substance.
5भोका मानिसहरूले उसको सबै अन्नहरू खाइदिए, ती भोका मानिसहरूले काँढाहरू माझ उम्रेका सबै अन्नहरूसम्म उसको लगिदिए तिनीहरूमा जे जति थिए लोभी मानिसहरूले सबै लगिदिए।
6For affliction doesn’t come forth from the dust, neither does trouble spring out of the ground;
6दुःख फोहरबाट आउँदैन। संकटहरू भुमिबाट उम्रिन्दैन।
7but man is born to trouble, as the sparks fly upward.
7तर आगोबाट उडेको फिलंगो जतिकै मानिस संकट लिनलाई नै जन्मन्छ।
8“But as for me, I would seek God. I would commit my cause to God,
8तर अय्यूब, यदि म तिमी भएको भए, म परमेश्वरपट्टि फर्किने थिएँ अनि आफ्ना समस्याहरूका बारेमा उहाँलाई भन्ने थिए।
9who does great things that can’t be fathomed, marvelous things without number;
9हाम्रो बुझ्ने शक्ति बाहिर परमेश्वरले अलौकिक कर्महरू गर्नुहुन्छ। चमत्कारी कर्महरू गर्न उहाँले कहिल्यै रोकिनु हुन्न।
10who gives rain on the earth, and sends waters on the fields;
10परमेश्वरले पृथ्वीमा वर्षाहरू पठाउनु हुन्छ। उहाँले खेतहरूमा पानी पठाउनु हुन्छ।
11so that he sets up on high those who are low, those who mourn are exalted to safety.
11परमेश्वरले नम्र मानिसलाई माथि उठाउनु हुन्छ, अनि उहाँले दुःखी मानिसलाई सुरक्षित राख्नु हुन्छ।
12He frustrates the devices of the crafty, So that their hands can’t perform their enterprise.
12परमेश्वरले धूर्त र दुष्टहरूका युक्तिलाई विफल पारिदिनु हुन्छ, यसकाण तिनीहरूले सफलता पाउँदैनन्।
13He takes the wise in their own craftiness; the counsel of the cunning is carried headlong.
13परमेश्वरले ज्ञानी मानिससम्मलाई तिनीहरूको आफ्नै पासोमा समात्नुहुन्छ। यसैले ती धूर्तपूर्ण योजनाहरू सफल हुँदैनन्।
14They meet with darkness in the day time, and grope at noonday as in the night.
14ती चतुर मानिसहरू दिउँसै पनि जताततै ठोक्कर खान्छन् मध्य दिनको बेलामा पनि तिनीहरू अन्धकारमा बाटो खोज्दै हिंड्ने मानिस जस्तो हुनेछ।
15But he saves from the sword of their mouth, even the needy from the hand of the mighty.
15परमेश्वरले दरिद्र मानिसहरूलाई मृत्युबाट पनि जोगाउनु हुन्छ। उहाँले गरीब निरीह मानिसहरूलाई शक्तिशालीहरूबाट जोगाउनु हुन्छ।
16So the poor has hope, and injustice shuts her mouth.
16यसकारण गरीब मानिसहरूले आशा गर्छन। उहाँले दुष्टकर्मीको मुख थुनिदिनु हुन्छ।
17“Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects. Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.
17त्यो मानिस धन्यको हो, जब परमेश्वरले उसलाई सुमार्ग बताउनुहुन्छ। यसैले गुनासो नगर जब सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वरले तिमीमाथि अनुशासन गर्नुहुन्छ।
18For he wounds, and binds up. He injures, and his hands make whole.
18परमेश्वरले दिनुभएको घाउहरूमा मलमपट्टी गरिदिनुहुन्छ। उहाँले कसैलाई चोट पुर्याउँन सक्नुहुन्छ तर उहाँकै हातहरूले नै निको पार्नुहुन्छ।
19He will deliver you in six troubles; yes, in seven no evil shall touch you.
19उहाँले तिमीलाई छःपल्ट संकटहरूबाट बचाउनु हुनेछ। हो, सातपल्ट दुर्घटनाहरू हुँदा पनि तिमीलाई छुने छैन।
20In famine he will redeem you from death; in war, from the power of the sword.
20जब त्यहाँ अनिकाल आईपर्छ परमेश्वरले तिमीलाई मृत्युबाट जोगाउनु हुन्छ। अनि जब त्यहाँ युद्ध हुँदछ परमेश्वरले तिमीलाई मृत्युबाट जोगाउनु हुन्छ।
21You shall be hidden from the scourge of the tongue, neither shall you be afraid of destruction when it comes.
21जब मानिसहरूले तिम्रो निन्दा गर्छन परमेश्वरले तिम्रो रक्षा गर्नु हुन्छ। अनि यस्तो हुदाँ तिम्रो विनाश हुन्छ भनी डराउनु पर्दैन।
22At destruction and famine you shall laugh, neither shall you be afraid of the animals of the earth.
22तिमी विनाश र अनिकाल देखेर हाँस्ने छौ। तिमी जंङ्गली जनावरहरूदेखि भयभीत हुने छैनौ।
23For you shall be allied with the stones of the field. The animals of the field shall be at peace with you.
23खेतका ढुङ्गाहरूसित तिम्रो वाचा बाँधिएको छ। जंङ्गली जनावरहरू तिमीसंग शान्ति साथ रहनेछन्।
24You shall know that your tent is in peace. You shall visit your fold, and shall miss nothing.
24तिम्रो घरमा शान्ति रहेको तिमीले चाल पाउनेछौ। तिमीले आफ्नो सम्पत्ति गन्नेछौ अनि कुनै पनि चीज हराएको हुनेछैन्।
25You shall know also that your seed shall be great, Your offspring as the grass of the earth.
25तिम्रा धेरै नानीहरू हुनेछन। तिनीहरू घाँसका पातहरू झैं प्रशस्त हुनेछन।
26You shall come to your grave in a full age, like a shock of grain comes in its season.
26तिमी त्यो गहूँ जस्तै हुनेछौ जुन बाली काटिने बेलासम्ममा उब्जनेछ। हो, तिमी बृद्धवस्थासम्म बाँच्नु पर्नेछ।
27Look this, we have searched it, so it is. Hear it, and know it for your good.”
27अय्यूब, हामीले ती कुराहरूका अध्ययन गरेका छौ अनि हामी जान्दछौ। यसकारण अय्यूब, ध्यान दिएर सुन, अनि तिनीहरूबाट तिमी आफैं सिक।”
