¹Observe the month of Abib, and keep the Passover to Yahweh your God; for in the month of Abib Yahweh your God brought you forth out of Egypt by night.

¹Akt vel på måneden abib, så du holder påske for Herren din Gud! For i måneden abib førte Herren din Gud dig ut av Egypten ved nattetid.

²You shall sacrifice the Passover to Yahweh your God, of the flock and the herd, in the place which Yahweh shall choose, to cause his name to dwell there.

²Og du skal slakte påskeoffer for Herren din Gud, småfe og storfe, på det sted Herren utvelger for å la sitt navn bo der.

³You shall eat no leavened bread with it. You shall eat unleavened bread with it seven days, even the bread of affliction; for you came forth out of the land of Egypt in haste: that you may remember the day when you came forth out of the land of Egypt all the days of your life.

³Du skal ikke ete syret brød til det; i syv dager skal du ete usyret brød til det, trengsels brød - for i hast drog du ut av Egyptens land - forat du alle ditt livs dager skal komme i hu den dag du gikk ut av Egyptens land.

⁴No yeast shall be seen with you in all your borders seven days; neither shall any of the flesh, which you sacrifice the first day at evening, remain all night until the morning.

⁴I syv dager skal det ikke finnes surdeig hos dig i hele ditt land, og av det kjøtt du slakter om aftenen den første dag, skal intet ligge natten over til om morgenen.

⁵You may not sacrifice the Passover within any of your gates, which Yahweh your God gives you;

⁵Du må ikke slakte påskeofferet i nogen av de byer som Herren din Gud gir dig;

⁶but at the place which Yahweh your God shall choose, to cause his name to dwell in, there you shall sacrifice the Passover at evening, at the going down of the sun, at the season that you came forth out of Egypt.

⁶men på det sted Herren din Gud utvelger for å la sitt navn bo der, skal du slakte påskeofferet om aftenen, ved solens nedgang, på samme tid som da du drog ut av Egypten.

⁷You shall roast and eat it in the place which Yahweh your God shall choose: and you shall turn in the morning, and go to your tents.

⁷Og du skal steke og ete det på det sted Herren din Gud utvelger; og om morgenen kan du vende tilbake og gå til dine telt.

⁸Six days you shall eat unleavened bread. On the seventh day shall be a solemn assembly to Yahweh your God; you shall do no work.

⁸Seks dager skal du ete usyret brød; men på den syvende dag skal det være festsammenkomst for Herren din Gud; da skal du intet arbeid gjøre.

⁹You shall count for yourselves seven weeks: from the time you begin to put the sickle to the standing grain you shall begin to number seven weeks.

⁹Så skal du telle syv uker: Fra den tid du begynner å skjære kornet med sigden, skal du telle syv uker frem.

¹⁰You shall keep the feast of weeks to Yahweh your God with a tribute of a freewill offering of your hand, which you shall give, according as Yahweh your God blesses you:

¹⁰Og så skal du holde ukenes høitid for Herren din Gud og bære frem så meget som du frivillig vil gi, alt efter som Herren din Gud velsigner dig.

¹¹and you shall rejoice before Yahweh your God, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your male servant, and your female servant, and the Levite who is within your gates, and the foreigner, and the fatherless, and the widow, who are in the midst of you, in the place which Yahweh your God shall choose, to cause his name to dwell there.

¹¹Og du skal være glad for Herrens, din Guds åsyn på det sted Herren din Gud utvelger for å la sitt navn bo der, både du og din sønn og din datter og din tjener og din tjenestepike og levitten som bor hos dig, og den fremmede og den farløse og enken som du har hos dig.

¹²You shall remember that you were a bondservant in Egypt: and you shall observe and do these statutes.

¹²Og du skal komme i hu at du var træl i Egypten, og du skal ta vare på disse forskrifter og holde dem.

¹³You shall keep the feast of tents seven days, after that you have gathered in from your threshing floor and from your winepress:

¹⁴and you shall rejoice in your feast, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your male servant, and your female servant, and the Levite, and the foreigner, and the fatherless, and the widow, who are within your gates.

¹⁴Og du skal være glad på din høitid, du og din sønn og din datter og din tjener og din tjenestepike og levitten og den fremmede og den farløse og enken som bor i dine byer.

¹⁵You shall keep a feast to Yahweh your God seven days in the place which Yahweh shall choose; because Yahweh your God will bless you in all your increase, and in all the work of your hands, and you shall be altogether joyful.

¹⁵Syv dager skal du holde høitid for Herren din Gud på det sted Herren utvelger; for Herren din Gud skal velsigne dig i all din avling og i alt det du tar dig fore, så du skal være full av glede.

¹⁶Three times in a year shall all your males appear before Yahweh your God in the place which he shall choose: in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tents; and they shall not appear before Yahweh empty:

¹⁶Tre ganger om året skal alle menn blandt eder vise sig for Herrens, din Guds åsyn på det sted han utvelger: på de usyrede brøds høitid og på ukenes høitid og på løvsalenes høitid; og ingen skal vise sig for Herrens åsyn tomhendt,

¹⁷every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of Yahweh your God which he has given you.

¹⁷men enhver med den gave han har råd til, efter den velsignelse som Herren din Gud har gitt dig.

¹⁸You shall make judges and officers in all your gates, which Yahweh your God gives you, according to your tribes; and they shall judge the people with righteous judgment.

¹⁸Dommere og tilsynsmenn skal du innsette for dig i alle de byer som Herren din Gud gir dig, for hver av dine stammer, og de skal dømme folket efter lov og rett.

¹⁹You shall not wrest justice: you shall not respect persons; neither shall you take a bribe; for a bribe does blind the eyes of the wise, and pervert the words of the righteous.

¹⁹Du skal ikke bøie retten, du skal ikke gjøre forskjell på folk og ikke ta imot gaver; for gaven blinder vismenns øine og forvender de rettferdiges sak.

²⁰You shall follow that which is altogether just, that you may live, and inherit the land which Yahweh your God gives you.

²⁰Rettferdighet, rettferdighet skal du strebe efter, forat du må leve og eie det land Herren din Gud gir dig.

²¹You shall not plant for yourselves an Asherah of any kind of tree beside the altar of Yahweh your God, which you shall make for yourselves.

²¹Du skal ikke sette et Astarte-billede av noget slags tre ved siden av Herrens, din Guds alter, det som du skal bygge dig,

²²Neither shall you set yourself up a pillar; which Yahweh your God hates.

²²og du skal ikke reise nogen billedstøtte, for det hater Herren din Gud.
