¹Don’t rebuke an older man, but exhort him as a father; the younger men as brothers;

¹ਕਿਸੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਨਾਲ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾ ਬੋਲੋ ਸਗੋਂ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਇੰਝ ਗੱਲ ਕਰੋ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਹੋਵੇ। ਛੋਟਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਰਤਾਉ ਕਰੋ।

²the elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, in all purity.

²ਵੱਡੀ ਉਮਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਵਾਂ ਵਰਗਾ ਵਿਹਾਰ ਕਰੋ। ਛੋਟੀਆਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭੈਣਾਂ ਵਰਗਾ ਵਿਹਾਰ ਕਰੋ। ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪੂਰੀ ਸ਼ੁਧਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਹਾਰ ਕਰੋ।

³Honor widows who are widows indeed.

³ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਧਵਾਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਖਿਆਲ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਇਕੱਲੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

⁴But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them learn first to show piety towards their own family, and to repay their parents, for this is TR adds “good and” acceptable in the sight of God.

⁴ਪਰ ਜੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਧਵਾ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਹਨ ਜਾਂ ਪੋਤਰੇ-ਪੋਤਰੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੀ ਗੱਲ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਖਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਇਹ ਹੈ; ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਖੁਦ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦੇ ਜੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਰਖਕੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਇਵੇਂ ਕਰਨਗੀਆਂ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਪਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਪਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹੋਣਗੀਆਂ ਇਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

⁵Now she who is a widow indeed, and desolate, has her hope set on God, and continues in petitions and prayers night and day.

⁵ਜੇਕਰ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਧਵਾ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਸਹਾਰਿਉਂ ਇਕੱਲੀ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਆਸ ਰਖਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਇਕੱਲਾ ਉਸਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਲਈ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਜਾਰੀ ਰਖਦੀ ਹੈ।

⁶But she who gives herself to pleasure is dead while she lives.

⁶ਪਰ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੀ ਵਿਧਵਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਕੇਵਲ ਆਪਣੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਲਈ ਬਿਤਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਜਿਉਂਦੀ ਹੋਈ ਵੀ ਮੁਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

⁷Also command these things, that they may be without reproach.

⁷ਉਥੋਂ ਦੇ ਨਿਹਚਾਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਖੋ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਇਹ ਨਾ ਕਹਿ ਸਕੇ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਗਲਤ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।

⁸But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.

⁸ਇੱਕ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਖਾਸਕਰ, ਉਸਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਸੱਚੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨਦਾ। ਉਹ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਇੱਕ ਅਨਾਸਥਾਵਾਨ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੀ ਭੈਡ਼ਾ ਹੈ।

⁹Let no one be enrolled as a widow under sixty years old, having been the wife of one man,

⁹ਵਿਧਵਾਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸੂਚੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੁਡ਼ਨ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਸਠਾਂ ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਂ ਇਸਤੋਂ ਵਡੇਰੀ ਹੋਣੀ ਆਹੀਦੀ ਹਾਯ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਦੀ ਵਫ਼ਾਦਾਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੋਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।

¹⁰being approved by good works, if she has brought up children, if she has been hospitable to strangers, if she has washed the saints’ feet, if she has relieved the afflicted, and if she has diligently followed every good work.

¹⁰ਉਹ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਔਰਤ ਵਜੋਂ ਜਾਣੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੋਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਣ। ਮੇਰਾ ਭਾਵ ਚੰਗਿਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਹਨ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਚਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਰਵਰਿਸ਼ ਕਰਨੀ, ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਆਏ ਓਪਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ-ਨਵਾਜ਼ੀ ਕਰਨੀ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਧੋਣੇ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੇ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵਰਤਣਾ।

¹¹But refuse younger widows, for when they have grown wanton against Christ, they desire to marry;

¹¹ਪਰ ਉਸ ਪਤ੍ਰ੍ਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਵਾਨ ਵਿਧਵਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ। ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਮਸੀਹ ਦੇ ਨਮਿਤ੍ਤ ਅਰਪਣ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਾਰੀ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਤਕਡ਼ੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਰੀਰਕ ਲੋਡ਼ਾਂ ਕਾਰਣ ਉਸ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਤਾਂ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਹ ਦੁਬਾਰਾ ਸ਼ਾਦੀ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

¹²having condemnation, because they have rejected their first pledge.

¹²ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਣਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਵਾਅਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਨਿਭਾਇਆ।

¹³Besides, they also learn to be idle, going about from house to house. Not only idle, but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not.

¹³ਇਹ ਵੀ, ਕਿ ਇਹ ਵਿਧਵਾਵਾਂ ਜਲਦੀ ਹੀ ਇੱਕ ਘਰ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਜੇ ਘਰ ਜਾਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਦੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਦੂਸਰਿਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਸਰਿਆਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਖਲ ਦੇਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੀਆਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਖਣੀਆਂ ਚਾਹੀਦੀਆਂ।

¹⁴I desire therefore that the younger widows marry, bear children, rule the household, and give no occasion to the adversary for insulting.

¹⁴ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਨਾ ਕਿ ਜਵਾਨ ਵਿਧਵਾਵਾਂ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਵਾ ਲੈਣ ਅਤੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦੇਣ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਰੱਖਣ। ਜੇ ਉਹ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਲੋਚਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲੇਗਾ।

¹⁵For already some have turned aside after Satan.

¹⁵ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ, ਕੁਝ ਜਵਾਨ ਵਿਧਵਾਵਾਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਸ਼ੈਤਾਨ ਦਾ ਅਨੁਸਰਣ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਮੁਡ਼ ਚੁੱਕੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

¹⁶If any man or woman who believes has widows, let them relieve them, and don’t let the assembly be burdened; that it might relieve those who are widows indeed.

¹⁶ਜੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਿਹਚਾਵਾਨ ਔਰਤ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਧਵਾਵਾਂ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਖੁਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਰੱਖਣ ਦਾ ਬੋਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਉਠਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਧਵਾਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਰਖ ਸਕੇਗੀ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਜਿਉਂਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।

¹⁷Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and in teaching.

¹⁷ਜਿਹਡ਼ੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਚੰਗੇ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਮਹਾਨ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਪਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਯੋਗੀ ਹਨ। ਜਿਹਡ਼ੇ ਵਡੇਰੇ ਬੋਲ ਚਾਲ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕਾਰਜ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਹਨ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਦੇ ਯੋਗੀ ਹਨ।

¹⁸For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle the ox when it treads out the grain.” Deuteronomy 25:4 And, “The laborer is worthy of his wages.” Luke 10:7; Leviticus 19:13

¹⁸ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਪੋਥੀ ਆਖਦੀ ਹੈ, “ਉਸ ਬਲਦ ਦਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਨਾ ਬੰਨ੍ਹੋ ਜਿਹਡ਼ਾ ਗਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਥੱਲੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ “ ਅਤੇ ਪੋਥੀ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਆਖਦੀ ਹੈ, “ਮਜ਼ਦੂਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਜਦੂਰੀ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ।”

¹⁹Don’t receive an accusation against an elder, except at the word of two or three witnesses.

¹⁹ਉਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੀ ਨਾ ਸੁਣੋ ਜਿਹਡ਼ਾ ਇੱਕ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਉੱਤੇ ਇਲਜ਼ਾਮ ਲਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਸੁਨਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੇਕਰ ਦੋ ਜਾਂ ਤਿੰਨ ਬੰਦੇ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਦੇਣ ਕਿ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਨੇ ਗਲਤ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

²⁰Those who sin, reprove in the sight of all, that the rest also may be in fear.

²⁰ਪਾਪੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖੋ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਗਲਤ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਸਾਰੀ ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਦੇ ਸਾਮ੍ਹਣੇ ਆਖੋ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਚੇਤਾਵਨੀ ਮਿਲੇਗੀ।

²¹I command you in the sight of God, and Christ Jesus, and the chosen angels, that you observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing by partiality.

²¹ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਯਿਸੂ ਮਸੀਹ ਅਤੇ ਚੁਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਦੂਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ, ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਪਰ ਸੱਚ ਜਾਨਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਨਿਰਣਾ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ। ਅਤੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਸਲੂਕ ਕਰੋ।

²²Lay hands hastily on no one, neither be a participant in other men’s sins. Keep yourself pure.

²²ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਬਨਾਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਸੋਚੋ। ਹੋਰਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦੇ ਭਾਗੀ ਨਾ ਬਣੋ। ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੁਧ ਰਖੋ।

²³Be no longer a drinker of water only, but use a little wine for your stomach’s sake and your frequent infirmities.

²³ਤਿਮੋਥਿਉਸ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੇਵਲ ਪਾਣੀ ਹੀ ਪੀਂਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ। ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਛੱਡੋ ਰਤਾ ਕੁ ਮੈ ਪੀਓ। ਇਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਮਿਹਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਅਕਸਰ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਿਮਾਰੀ ਲਈ ਚੰਗੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।

²⁴Some men’s sins are evident, preceding them to judgment, and some also follow later.

²⁴ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੇਖਣੇ ਸੁਖਾਲੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਦਰਸ਼ਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਅਸਲੀ ਨਿਰਣਾ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

²⁵In the same way also there are good works that are obvious, and those that are otherwise can’t be hidden.

²⁵ਇਹੀ ਗੱਲ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਵੀ ਹੈ। ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤੇ ਛੇਤੀ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਕਰਨੀਆਂ ਵੇਖਣੀਆਂ ਸੁਖਾਲੀਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਲੁਕੀਆਂ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਸਕਦੀਆਂ।
