1Be therefore imitators of God, as beloved children.
1ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਉਹ ਬੱਚੇ ਹੋ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
2Walk in love, even as Christ also loved you, and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance.
2ਇਸ ਲਈ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵਾਂਗ ਬਣਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰੋ। ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀਓ। ਹੋਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰੋ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮਸੀਹ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ। ਮਸੀਹ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਚਢ਼ਾਈ ਗਈ ਚੰਗੀ ਸੁਗੰਧ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀ ਸੀ।
3But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints;
3ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਨਸੀ ਪਾਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ। ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੀ ਅਸ਼ੁਧਤਾ ਜਾਂ ਲਾਲਸਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੁਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ। ਕਿਉਂ? ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਸਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ।
4nor filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not appropriate; but rather giving of thanks.
4ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਦਰਮਿਆਨ ਭਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਣੀਆਂ ਚਾਹੀਦੀਆਂ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਮੂਰਖਤਾ ਭਰੇ ਬੋਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੋਲਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਤੇ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੰਦੇ ਮਜ਼ਾਕ ਕਰਨੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਸਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੁਕਰਾਨਾ ਦੇਣਾ ਹੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਸਹੀ ਹੈ।
5Know this for sure, that no sexually immoral person, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and God.
5ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਿਤ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੇ ਹੋ। ਇੱਕ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਜਿਹਡ਼ਾ ਜਿਨਸੀ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਉਹ ਜੋ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਦਾ ਜਾਂ ਲੋਭੀ ਵਪਾਰੀ ਹੈ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਅਤੇ ਮਸੀਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਜਗ਼੍ਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲੇਗੀ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਜਿਹਡ਼ਾ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਵਧ ਤੋਂ ਵਧ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਚਾਹਨਾ ਰਖਦਾ ਮੂਰਤੀ ਉਪਾਸਕ ਹੈ।
6Let no one deceive you with empty words. For because of these things, the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience.
6ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਖੋਖਲੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਮਰਾਹ ਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਦਿਓ। ਇਹ ਬਦਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਕਹਿਰਵਾਨ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ।
7Therefore don’t be partakers with them.
7ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ।
8For you were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord. Walk as children of light,
8ਅਤੀਤ ਵਿੱਚ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਘਿਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚਲੀ ਰੋਸ਼ਨੀ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਹੋ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਰਹੋ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੇ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਰਖਦੇ ਹਨ।
9for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth,
9ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ ਚੰਗਿਆਈ, ਧਰਮੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
10proving what is well pleasing to the Lord.
10ਸਿਖਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰੋ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
11Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them.
11ਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੀਆਂ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਹਡ਼ੇ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ। ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਲਾਭ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਿਆਉਂਦੀਆਂ। ਪਰ ਇਹ ਦਰਸ਼ਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰੋ ਕਿ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਵਿਚਲੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਗਲਤ ਹਨ।
12For the things which are done by them in secret, it is a shame even to speak of.
12ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਬੋਲਾਣ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਰਮਨਾਕ ਹੈ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੀਆਂ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
13But all things, when they are reproved, are revealed by the light, for everything that reveals is light.
13ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਦਰਸ਼ਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਗਲਤ ਹਨ, ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਤਖ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
14Therefore he says, “Awake, you who sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”
14ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੀ ਗੱਲ ਪ੍ਰਤਖ ਹੈ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ ਬਣ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਾਂ; “ਜਾਗੋ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੁਤਿਓ ਬ੍ਬੰਦਿਓ। ਮੌਤ ਤੋਂ ਉਭਰੋ, ਅਤੇ ਮਸੀਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਚਮਕੇਗਾ।
15Therefore watch carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise;
15ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਸ ਗੱਲੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਵਧਾਨ ਰਹੋ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਹੋ। ਗਿਆਨਹੀਣ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਢੰਗ ਵਾਂਗ ਨਾ ਜੀਓ। ਸਗੋਂ ਗਿਆਨਵਾਨ ਬਣਕੇ ਜੀਓ।
16redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
16ਮੇਰਾ ਭਾਵ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਰ ਮੌਕੇ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੇ ਕੰਮ ਲਈ ਵਰਤਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਹ ਸਮੇਂ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਹਨ।
17Therefore don’t be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
17ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੂਰਖਤਾ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਨਾ ਜੀਵੋ। ਪਰ ਉਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਸਿਖੋ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਕਰਵਾਉਣੀਆਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
18Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,
18ਮੈ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਰਾਬੀ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੋ। ਇਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇਗੀ, ਪਰ ਇਸਦੀ ਜਗ਼੍ਹਾ ਆਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੋਵੇ।
19speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs; singing, and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
19ਇੱਕ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਭਜਨਾਂ, ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਗੀਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬੋਲੋ। ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਲਈ ਗਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਗੀਤ ਛੇਡ਼ੋ।
20giving thanks always concerning all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to God, even the Father;
20ਹਰ ਚੀਜ਼ ਲਈ ਪਿਤਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਸ਼ੁਕਰਾਨਾ ਕਰੋ, ਉਸਦਾ ਸਾਡੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਯਿਸੂ ਮਸੀਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੇ ਸ਼ੁਕਰਾਨਾ ਕਰੋ। ਪਤਨੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਤੀ
21subjecting yourselves one to another in the fear of Christ.
21ਇੱਕ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਮੰਨਣ ਲਈ ਸਦਾ ਤਿਆਡ਼ ਰਹੋ। ਅਜਿਹਾ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਰੋ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੁ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮਸੀਹ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ।
22Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord.
22ਪਤਨੀਓ, ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਉਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਰਹੋ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਹੋ।
23For the husband is the head of the wife, and Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body.
23ਪਤੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਦਾ ਮੁਖੀਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਮਸੀਹ ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਦਾ ਮੁਖੀਆ ਹੈ। ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਮਸੀਹ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਹੈ। ਮਸੀਹ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਦਾ ਰਖਿਅਕ ਹੈ।
24But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything.
24ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਮਸੀਹ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਾਈ ਪਤਨੀਓ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਵੀ ਇਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਹੈ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਗੱਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
25Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it;
25ਪਤੀਓ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਪਤਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਵੇਂ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰੋ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮਸੀਹ ਨੇ ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਮਸੀਹ ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਲਈ ਮਰਿਆ ਸੀ।
26that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word,
26ਉਹ ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਸ਼ੁਧ ਬਨਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਮਰਿਆ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਮਸੀਹ ਨੇ ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਧੋਕੇ ਸਾਫ਼ ਕੀਤਾ।
27that he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
27ਮਸੀਹ ਮਰਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਲਈ ਇਕ ਵਹੁਟੀ ਵਾਂਗ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਕਰ ਸਕੇ ਜੋ ਮਹਿਮਾ (ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ) ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਮਰਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਰਹਿਤ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਬਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ ਜਾਂ ਪਾਪ ਜਾਂ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਗੱਲ ਤੋਂ ਜੋ ਗਲਤ ਹੈ।
28Even so husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself.
28ਅਤੇ ਪਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਪਤਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਪਤਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਵੇਂ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜਿਹਡ਼ਾ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
29For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly;
29ਕਿਉਂ? ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਖੁਦ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ। ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਦਾ ਪੋਸ਼ਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਦਾ ਚੰਗਾ ਖਿਆਲ ਰਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਇਹੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੀ ਮਸੀਹ ਨੇ ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਲਈ ਕੀਤੀ,
30because we are members of his body, of his flesh and bones.
30ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਸਦੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਦੇ ਅੰਗ ਹਾਂ।
31“For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will be joined to his wife. The two will become one flesh.” Genesis 2:24
31ਪੋਥੀਆਂ ਆਖਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, “ਇਸ ਲਈ ਆਦਮੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਏਗਾ। ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ, ਉਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਇੱਕ ਬਣ ਜਾਣਗੇ।”
32This mystery is great, but I speak concerning Christ and of the assembly.
32ਇਹ ਗੁਪਤ ਸੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਣ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਮਸੀਹ ਅਤੇ ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ।
33Nevertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband.
33ਪਰ ਇਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹਰ ਇੱਕ ਉੱਤੇ ਲਾਗੂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ; ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਪਤਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਵੇਂ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਪਤਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
