²ਮੇਰੇ ਭਰਾਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਭੈਣੋ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਈ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਮ੍ਹਣਾ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ। ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਾਪਰਨ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।

³knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.

³ਕਿਉਂ? ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਨਿਹਚਾ ਨੂੰ ਪਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਵਾਪਰੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਬਰ ਨਾਲ ਸਹਿਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਸਿਖ੍ਖ ਲਵੋਂ।

⁴Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

⁴ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੂਰਨ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਸਬਰ ਦਰਸ਼ਾਓ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਹੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਪੂਰਣ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੋਂਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਚੀਜ਼ ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਲੋਡ਼ੀਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਵੋਂਗੇ।

⁵But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him.

⁵ਪਰ ਜੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਲੋਡ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਮੰਗਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਉਦਾਰ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਸਮੂਹ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।

⁶But let him ask in faith, without any doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed.

⁶ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਮੰਗੋ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਉੱਪਰ ਸ਼ੰਕਾ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ। ਜਿਹਡ਼ਾ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਸ਼ੰਕਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚਲੀ ਲਹਿਰ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੈ। ਹਵਾ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਉੱਪਰ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਸ਼ੰਕਾਲੂ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਉਸ ਲਹਿਰ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੈ।

⁷For let that man not think that he will receive anything from the Lord.

⁸He is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

⁹But let the brother in humble circumstances glory in his high position;

⁹ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਲੂ ਗਰੀਬ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਮਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਦਿਉ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਅਮੀਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ।

¹⁰and the rich, in that he is made humble, because like the flower in the grass, he will pass away.

¹⁰ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਲੂ ਅਮੀਰ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਘਮੰਡ ਕਰਨ ਦਿਉ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਦਰਸ਼ਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਗਰੀਬ ਹੈ। ਇੱਕ ਅਮੀਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਜੰਗਲੀ ਫ਼ੁੱਲ ਵਾਂਗ ਅਲੋਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

¹¹For the sun arises with the scorching wind, and withers the grass, and the flower in it falls, and the beauty of its appearance perishes. So also will the rich man fade away in his pursuits.

¹¹ਸੂਰਜ ਚਢ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਪਲ-ਪਲ ਗਰਮ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸੂਰਜ ਦੀ ਗਰਮੀ ਪੌਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੁਕਾ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਫ਼ੁੱਲ ਝਡ਼ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਫ਼ੁੱਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਖੂਬਸੂਰਤ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਇਹ ਮੁਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਮੀਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਇਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਹਾਲੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰ ਲਈ ਵਿਉਂਤਾ ਹੀ ਬਣਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਉਹ ਮਰ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

¹²Blessed is the man who endures temptation, for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord promised to those who love him.

¹²ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿਸ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੀ ਨਿਹਚਾ ਪਰਖੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਹ ਮਜਬੂਤ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕਿਉਂ? ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਸਾਬਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਤਾਜ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦਾ ਵਾਅਦਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਮੂਹ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

¹³Let no man say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God,” for God can’t be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one.

¹³ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਤਿਆਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ, “ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਤਿਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ” ਬਦੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਰਤਿਆ ਸਕਦੀ। ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਖੁਦ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਲਚਾਉਂਦਾ।

¹⁴But each one is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed.

¹⁴ਉਹ ਮੰਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਕਾਮਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਪਰਤਿਆਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਇੱਛਾਵਾਂ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਲੈ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਵਰਗਲਾਉਣਗੀਆਂ।

¹⁵Then the lust, when it has conceived, bears sin; and the sin, when it is full grown, brings forth death.

¹⁵ਇਹੀ ਕਾਮਨਾ ਪਾਪ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਪਾਪ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਮੌਤ ਲਿਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

¹⁶Don’t be deceived, my beloved brothers.

¹⁶ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਭਰਾਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਭੈਣੋ ਇਸ ਗੱਲੋਂ ਮੂਰਖ ਨਾ ਬਣੋ।

¹⁷Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow.

¹⁷ਹਰ ਚੰਗੀ ਚੀਜ਼ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਸੰਪੂਰਣ ਦਾਤ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਪਿਤਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚਲੀਆਂ ਸਮੂਹ ਰੋਸ਼ਨੀਆਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਰੋਸ਼ਨੀਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਤਬਦੀਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ। ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਇੱਕੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

¹⁸Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.

¹⁸ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਣਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਹ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਜੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਸਮੂਹ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਣ ਹੋਈਏ।

¹⁹So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger;

¹⁹ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਭਰਾਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਭੈਣੋ, ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਬੋਲਣ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਸੁਣਨ ਦੇ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਇਛੁਕ ਬਣੋ। ਛੇਤੀ ਹੀ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਵਿਚ ਨਾ ਆਓ।

²⁰for the anger of man doesn’t produce the righteousness of God.

²⁰ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦਾ ਗੁੱਸਾ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਸਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਜਿਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਦਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ।

²¹Therefore, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls or, preserve your life. .

²¹ਇਸ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹਰ ਬਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਢ੍ਢ ਦਿਉ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਉਹ ਮੰਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ। ਨਿਮਾਣੇ ਬਣੋ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਉਸ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਨੰ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨ ਕਰੋ ਜਿਹਡ਼ਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੀਜਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।

²²But be doers of the word, and not only hearers, deluding your own selves.

²²ਉਹੀ ਕਰੋ ਜੋ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਸਿਖਿਆ ਆਖ੍ਖਦੀ ਹੈ। ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਸੁਣੋ ਹੀ ਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਮਲ ਵੀ ਕਰੋ। ਕਿਉਂ? ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਬੈਠੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹੋ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਮੂਰਖ ਬਾਣਾ ਰਹੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋ।

²³For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man looking at his natural face in a mirror;

²³ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਅਮਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੈ; ਉਹ ਉਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹਡ਼ਾ ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਚਿਹਰਾ ਦੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ।

²⁴for he sees himself, and goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.

²⁴ਉਹ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਫ਼ੇਰ ਤੁਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਛੇਤੀ ਹੀ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਦਿਸਦਾ ਸੀ।

²⁵But he who looks into the perfect law of freedom, and continues, not being a hearer who forgets, but a doer of the work, this man will be blessed in what he does.

²⁵ਪਰ ਇੱਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਜਿਹਡ਼ਾ ਸੱਚ ਮੁੱਚ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਹਡ਼ਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਪਰੀਪੂਰਣ ਨੇਮ ਨੂੰ ਪਢ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਜ਼ਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਪਢ਼ਦਾ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਬਿਨਾ ਭੁਲਾਇਆਂ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿ ਉਸਨੇ ਕੀ ਸੁਣਿਆ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਤੇ ਅਮਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਉਹ ਸੱਚ ਮੁੱਚ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੈ।

²⁶If anyone among you thinks himself to be religious while he doesn’t bridle his tongue, but deceives his heart, this man’s religion is worthless.

²⁶ਭਾਵੇ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਇਹ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਧਰਮੀ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਉਹੀ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖਦਾ ਜੋ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਖਣੀਆਂ ਚਾਹੀਦੀਆਂ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਮੂਰਖ ਬਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸਦੇ ਧਰਮ ਦਾ ਕੀ ਅਰਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।

²⁷Pure religion and undefiled before our God and Father is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

²⁷ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਧਰਮ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਇਹ ਹੈ; ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਯਤੀਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਧਵਾਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਰਵਰਿਸ਼ ਕਰਨਾ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਦੀ ਲੋਡ਼ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਨਿਆਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਕਤ ਰੱਖਣਾ। ਇਹੀ ਉਹ ਧਰਮ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਸ਼ੁਧ ਅਤੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਬੂਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
