¹It happened on one of those days, as he was teaching the people in the temple and preaching the Good News, that the TR adds “chief” priests and scribes came to him with the elders.

¹ਇੱਕ ਦਿਨ ਯਿਸੂ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਸਾਮ੍ਹਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼-ਖਬਰੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਬੋਲਿਆ। ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਜਾਜਕ, ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਅਤੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਆਗੂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਬਾਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਏ।

²They asked him, “Tell us: by what authority do you do these things? Or who is giving you this authority?”

²ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਸਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸ? ਤੂੰ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਿਸ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ? ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਕਿਸਨੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ?”

³He answered them, “I also will ask you one question. Tell me:

³ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਸਵਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

⁴ the baptism of John, was it from heaven, or from men?”

⁴ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸੋ; ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਕੀ ਸੁਰਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੀ ਜਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ?”

⁵They reasoned with themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say, ‘Why didn’t you believe him?’

⁵ਜਾਜਕਾਂ, ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਆਗੂਆਂ, ਸਭ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਦਾ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਆਖੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਫਿਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ?’

⁶But if we say, ‘From men,’ all the people will stone us, for they are persuaded that John was a prophet.”

⁶ਪਰ ਜੇਕਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ, ‘ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਦਾ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੀ।’ ਤਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸੁਣਕੇ ਪੱਥਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟਣਗੇ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਇਹੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਇੱਕ ਨਬੀ ਸੀ।’

⁷They answered that they didn’t know where it was from.

⁷ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ‘ਅਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦਾ ਉੱਤਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ।”

⁸Jesus said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”

⁸ਤਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੱਸਾਂਗਾ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਹਡ਼ਾ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ?”

⁹He began to tell the people this parable. “A NU (in brackets) and TR add “certain” man planted a vineyard, and rented it out to some farmers, and went into another country for a long time.

⁹ਫਿਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਉਦਾਹਰਣ ਦਿੱਤੀ: “ਇੱਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੇ ਅੰਗੂਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਾਗ ਲਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਠੇਕੇ ਤੇ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਅਤੇ ਲੰਬੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਲਈ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੂਰ ਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਚਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ।

¹⁰ At the proper season, he sent a servant to the farmers to collect his share of the fruit of the vineyard. But the farmers beat him, and sent him away empty.

¹⁰ਸਮਾਂ ਆਉਣ ਤੇ ਰੁੱਤ ਸਿਰ ਉਸਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਨੌਕਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਅੰਗੂਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਉਸਦਾ ਬਣਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਦੇਣ। ਪਰ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਨੌਕਰ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਟਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਖਾਲੀ ਹੱਥੀਂ ਵਾਪਸ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

¹¹ He sent yet another servant, and they also beat him, and treated him shamefully, and sent him away empty.

¹¹ਤਾਂ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਆਪਣਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਨੌਕਰ ਭੇਜਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਕੁਟਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਬੇਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਖਾਲੀ ਹੱਥੀ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

¹² He sent yet a third, and they also wounded him, and threw him out.

¹²ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਇੱਕ ਤੀਜਾ ਨੌਕਰ ਭੇਜਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਕੁਟਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਖਮੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਸੁੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

¹³ The lord of the vineyard said, ‘What shall I do? I will send my beloved son. It may be that seeing him, they will respect him.’

¹³ਉਸ ਖੇਤ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੇ ਸੋਚਿਆ, ‘ਮੈਂ ਹੁਣ ਕੀ ਕਰਾਂ? ਮੈਂ ਹੁਣ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਾਂਗਾ। ਇਹ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਦੇਣਗੇ!’

¹⁴ “But when the farmers saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.’

¹⁴ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ-ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਣ ਲੱਗੇ, ‘ਇਹ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਅੰਗੂਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਗ ਦਾ ਵਾਰਸ ਹੈ, ਆਓ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਈਏ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਅੰਗੂਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਾਗ ਸਾਡਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।’

¹⁵ They threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do to them?

¹⁵ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। “ਤਾਂ ਹੁਣ ਅੰਗੂਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਗ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਕੀ ਕਰੇਗਾ?

¹⁶ He will come and destroy these farmers, and will give the vineyard to others.” When they heard it, they said, “May it never be!”

¹⁶ਉਹ ਆਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ। ਅਤੇ ਅੰਗੂਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਗ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਠੇਕੇ ਤੇ ਦੇ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।”ਜਦੋਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਂਤ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਆਖਣ ਲੱਗੇ, “ਨਹੀਂ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾ ਕਰੇ ਕਿ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇ।”

¹⁷But he looked at them, and said, “Then what is this that is written, ‘The stone which the builders rejected, the same was made the chief cornerstone?’ Psalm 118:22

¹⁷ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਝਾਕਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤਾਂ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਇਸ ਲਿਖਤ ਦਾ ਕੀ ਅਰਥ: ‘ਜਿਸ ਪੱਥਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਰੱਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਉਹ ਖੂਂਜੇ ਦਾ ਪੱਥਰ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ।’ਜ਼ਬੂਰ 118:22

¹⁸ Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces, but it will crush whomever it falls on to dust.”

¹⁸ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਪੱਥਰ ਤੇ ਡਿੱਗੇਗਾ ਟੁਕਡ਼ੇ-ਟੁਕਡ਼ੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਹ ਪੱਥਰ ਡਿੱਗੇਗਾ ਕੁਚਲਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।”

¹⁹The chief priests and the scribes sought to lay hands on him that very hour, but they feared the people—for they knew he had spoken this parable against them.

¹⁹ਯਹੂਦੀ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਂਤ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਂਤ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਫਡ਼ਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਡਰਦੇ ਸਨ ਉਹ ਖਬਰੇ ਕੀ ਕਰਨਗੇ?

²⁰They watched him, and sent out spies, who pretended to be righteous, that they might trap him in something he said, so as to deliver him up to the power and authority of the governor.

²⁰ਇਸ ਲਈ ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਜਕ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ਡ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਸਹੀ ਤਾਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਕੁਝ ਜਸੂਸ ਭੇਜੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਨਾਟਕ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਖਣੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਗਲਤੀ ਲਭਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜਪਾਲ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੀ ਸੌਂਪ ਸਕਣ, ਜਿਸ ਕੋਲ ਯਿਸੂ ਉੱਤੇ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਸੀ।

²¹They asked him, “Teacher, we know that you say and teach what is right, and aren’t partial to anyone, but truly teach the way of God.

²¹ਤਾਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ, ਅਸੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਖਦੇ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੋ ਉਹ ਸਹੀ ਹੈ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਤਰਫ਼ਦਾਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਗੋਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਮਾਰਗ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੱਚਾਈ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੋ।

²²Is it lawful for us to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”

²²ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਦੱਸੋ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਕੈਸਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਸੂਲ ਦੇਣਾ ਠੀਕ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਗਲਤ?”

²³But he perceived their craftiness, and said to them, “Why do you test me?

²³ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਗੁਮਰਾਹ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਉਸਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ,

²⁴ Show me a denarius. Whose image and inscription are on it?” They answered, “Caesar’s.”

²⁴“ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਸਿੱਕਾ ਦਿਖਾਵੋ? ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਦੱਸੋ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਉੱਪਰ ਕਿਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਤਸਵੀਰ ਹੈ?” ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਇਹ ਕੈਸਰ ਦੀ ਹੈ।”

²⁵He said to them, “Then give to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”

²⁵ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਤਾਂ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਜੋ ਕੈਸਰ ਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਕੈਸਰ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਵੋ।”

²⁶They weren’t able to trap him in his words before the people. They marveled at his answer, and were silent.

²⁶ਲੋਕ ਉਸਦੇ ਇੰਨੇ ਬੁਧੀਮਾਨ ਜਵਾਬ ਤੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਰਹਿ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਨਾ ਆਖ ਸਕੇ। ਉਹ ਭੀਡ਼ ਅੱਗੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਖਣੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਗਲਤੀ ਲਭਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਸਮਰਥ ਸਨ।

²⁷Some of the Sadducees came to him, those who deny that there is a resurrection.

²⁷ਕੁਝ ਸਦੂਕੀ ਯਿਸੂ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ। ਉਹ ਇਹ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਕਿ ਪੁਨਰ ਉਥਾਨ ਹੈ।

²⁸They asked him, “Teacher, Moses wrote to us that if a man’s brother dies having a wife, and he is childless, his brother should take the wife, and raise up children for his brother.

²⁸ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਆਹਿਆ ਮਰਦ ਬਿਨ ਔਲਾਦ ਮਰ ਜਾਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸਦੇ ਭਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਦੀ ਔਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਾ ਲੈਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਮਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਭਰਾ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਸੰਤਾਨ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਸਕੇ।

²⁹There were therefore seven brothers. The first took a wife, and died childless.

²⁹ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰ ਸੱਤ ਭਰਾ ਸਨ। ਪਹਿਲੇ ਭਰਾ ਨੇ ਜੋ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਸੀ, ਇੱਕ ਔਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ, ਉਸਦੇ ਕੋਈ ਉਲਾਦ ਨਾ ਹੋਈ।

³⁰The second took her as wife, and he died childless.

³⁰ਫਿਰ ਦੂਜੇ ਭਰਾ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕੀਤਾ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ।

³¹The third took her, and likewise the seven all left no children, and died.

³¹“ਉਸਦੇ ਤੀਜੇ ਭਰਾ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਵਾ ਲਿਆ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ। ਇੰਝ ਹੀ ਸੱਤਾਂ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਪਰਿਆ। ਵਾਰੀ-ਵਾਰੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਬਿਨ ਔਲਾਦ ਹੀ ਮਰ ਗਏ।

³²Afterward the woman also died.

³²ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ, ਔਰਤ ਵੀ ਮਰ ਗਈ। ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੱਤਾਂ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕੀਤਾ,

³³Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them will she be? For the seven had her as a wife.”

³³ਹੁਣ, ਪੁਨਰ ਉਥਾਨ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ, ਉਹ ਕਿਸ ਦੀ ਵਹੁਟੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਸੱਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕੀਤਾ?”

³⁴Jesus said to them, “The children of this age marry, and are given in marriage.

³⁴ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਸਦੂਕੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਿਆਹ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

³⁵ But those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage.

³⁵ਪਰ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੇ ਮੌਤ ਤੋਂ ਉਭਾਰੇ ਜਾਣ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਨਵੀਂ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਉਣਗੇ, ਉਹ ਵਿਆਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਗੇ।

³⁶ For they can’t die any more, for they are like the angels, and are children of God, being children of the resurrection.

³⁶ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਹੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰ ਸਕਦੇ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੌਤ ਤੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੁਨਰ ਉਥਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਦੂਤਾਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਹਨ।

³⁷ But that the dead are raised, even Moses showed at the bush, when he called the Lord ‘The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’ Exodus 3:6

³⁷ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਇਹ ਦਰਸਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੁਰਦਾ ਲੋਕ ਉਭਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਉਸਨੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਮਚਦੀ ਹੋਈ ਝਾਡ਼ੀ ਵਾਲੀ ਘਟਨਾ ਵੇਲੇ ਦਰਸਾਇਆ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ‘ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਇਸਹਾਕ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਅਤੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ’ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ਸੀ।

³⁸ Now he is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for all are alive to him.”

³⁸ਉਹ ਮਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਗੋਂ ਜਿਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਲਈ ਸਭ ਲੋਕ ਜੀਵਿਤ ਹਨ।”

³⁹Some of the scribes answered, “Teacher, you speak well.”

³⁹ਕੁਝ ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਹੀ ਆਖਿਆ ਹੈ।”

⁴⁰They didn’t dare to ask him any more questions.

⁴⁰ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਤੋਂ, ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਇੰਨਾ ਨਿਡਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਸਵਾਲ ਕਰ ਸਕੇ।

⁴¹He said to them, “Why do they say that the Christ is David’s son?

⁴¹ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਲੋਕ ਇਹ ਕਿਉਂ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਮਸੀਹ ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ?

⁴² David himself says in the book of Psalms, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand,

⁴²ਜ਼ਬੂਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਊਦ ਖੁਦ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ: ‘ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੱਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਬੈਠ’

⁴³ until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet.”’ Psalm 110:1

⁴³ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੈਰ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਚੌਂਕੀ ਨਾ ਬਣਾ ਦੇਵਾਂ।’ ਜ਼ਬੂਰ 110:1

⁴⁴ “David therefore calls him Lord, so how is he his son?”

⁴⁴4ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜਦੋਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਮਸੀਹ ਨੂੰ ‘ਪ੍ਰਭੂ’ ਬੁਲਾਉਦਾ ਹੈ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?”

⁴⁵In the hearing of all the people, he said to his disciples,

⁴⁵ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਉਸਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ,

⁴⁶ “Beware of the scribes, who like to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the marketplaces, the best seats in the synagogues, and the best places at feasts;

⁴⁶“ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਖਬਰਦਾਰ ਰਹੋ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੇ ਲੰਬੇ ਚੋਗੇ ਪਾਕੇ ਫਿਰਨਾ ਪਸੰਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਲਾਮ ਲੈਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਗਲੀਆਂ ਕੁਰਸੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਵਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

⁴⁷ who devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers: these will receive greater condemnation.”

⁴⁷ਉਹ ਵਿਧਵਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਲੁੱਟ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੰਬੀਆਂ-ਲੰਬੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾਵਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਬਨਣ ਦਾ ਢੋਂਗ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਣਾ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਗੰਭੀਰਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।”
