1He called the twelve TR reads “his twelve disciples” instead of “the twelve” together, and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases.
1ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਬਾਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਸੂਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕਠਿਆਂ ਸਦਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਗੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜੀ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਭੂਤਾਂ ਤੇ ਇਖਤਿਆਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
2He sent them forth to preach the Kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.
2ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਦਾ ਪਰਚਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਬਿਮਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਠੀਕ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਬਾਹਰ ਭੇਜਿਆ।
3He said to them, “Take nothing for your journey—neither staffs, nor wallet, nor bread, nor money; neither have two coats apiece.
3ਅਤੇ ਉਸਨੇ ਰਸੂਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਕਰੋ ਤਾਂ ਰਾਹ ਲਈ ਕੁਝ ਨਾ ਲਵੋ, ਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਸੋਟੀ, ਨਾ ਝੋਲਾ ਨਾ ਰੋਟੀ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਪੈਸੇ। ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਜੋ ਕੱਪਡ਼ੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ਉਹੀ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈਕੇ ਜਾਵੋ।
4 Into whatever house you enter, stay there, and depart from there.
4ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਘਰ ਜਾਵੋ ਅੱਗੇ ਹੋਰ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਤੁਰਨ ਤੱਕ ਉਥੇ ਹੀ ਰੁਕੋ।
5 As many as don’t receive you, when you depart from that city, shake off even the dust from your feet for a testimony against them.”
5ਅਤੇ ਜਿਥੇ ਵੀ ਲੋਕ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਸੁਆਗਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ, ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਨਗਰ ਛੱਡੋਂ, ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਦੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂਡ਼ ਝਾਡ਼ ਦੇਵੋ।”
6They departed, and went throughout the villages, preaching the Good News, and healing everywhere.
6ਇਉਂ ਰਸੂਲ ਬਾਹਰ ਜਾਕੇ ਹਰ ਇੱਕ ਨਗਰ, ਸ਼ਹਿਰ, ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਜਾਕੇ ਖੁਸ਼-ਖਬਰੀ ਸੁਣਾਉਂਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਰੋਗ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਦੇ।
7Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done by him; and he was very perplexed, because it was said by some that John had risen from the dead,
7ਜੋ ਵੀ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਾਪਰ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਰਾਜਪਾਲ ਹੇਰੋਦੇਸ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸਲਈ ਉਹ ਪਰੇਸ਼ਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਆਖ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਕਿ “ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ, ਮੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਉਭਾਰਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।”
8and by some that Elijah had appeared, and by others that one of the old prophets had risen again.
8ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ, “ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।” ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਹੋਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਖਣਾ ਹੈ, “ਬਹੁਤ ਦੇਰ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਨਬੀ ਜੀਅ ਉਠਿਆ ਹੈ।
9Herod said, “John I beheaded, but who is this, about whom I hear such things?” He sought to see him.

10The apostles, when they had returned, told him what things they had done. He took them, and withdrew apart to a deserted place of a city called Bethsaida.
10ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਰਸੂਲ ਵਾਪਸ ਆਏ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਕੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਫ਼ਸੀਲ ਦਸੀ। ਤਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨਗਰ ਬੈਤਸੈਦਾ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਰ ਪਏ।
11But the multitudes, perceiving it, followed him. He welcomed them, and spoke to them of the Kingdom of God, and he cured those who needed healing.
11ਪਰ ਜਦ ਹੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਉਥੇ ਪਹੁੰਚਣ ਦਾ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਾ ਉਹ ਉਸਦੇ ਪਿਛੇ ਹੋ ਤੁਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਬਾਰੇ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਂਤ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਮਾਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜੀ ਕੀਤਾ।
12The day began to wear away; and the twelve came, and said to him, “Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding villages and farms, and lodge, and get food, for we are here in a deserted place.”
12ਦੁਪਿਹਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ, ਬਾਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਸੂਲ ਯਿਸੂ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਣ ਲੱਗੇ, “ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਭੀਡ਼ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਕਹੋ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਨੇਡ਼ੇ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ, ਖੇਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਕੇ ਕੁਝ ਖਾਣ ਲਈ ਲਭ ਸਕਣ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਇਥੇ ਦੂਰ ਬੀਆਵਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਂ।”
13But he said to them, “You give them something to eat.” They said, “We have no more than five loaves and two fish, unless we should go and buy food for all these people.”
13ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਰਸੂਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਖਾਣ ਦਾ ਕੁਝ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕਰੋ! ਰਸੂਲਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਪੰਜ ਰੋਟੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਦੋ ਮਛੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਵਧ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਸ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੋਂਗੇ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਜਾਈਏ ਅਤੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਭੋਜਨ ਲਿਆਈਏ?”
14For they were about five thousand men. He said to his disciples, “Make them sit down in groups of about fifty each.”
14ਉਥੇ ਪੰਜ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਆਦਮੀ ਇਕੱਤਰ ਸਨ। ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਹੋ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਪੰਜਾਹ-ਪੰਜਾਹ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਗੁਟ੍ਟ ਬਣਾਕੇ ਪੰਗਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਠ ਜਾਣ।”
15They did so, and made them all sit down.
15ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਗਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਿਠਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
16He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to the sky, he blessed them, and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude.
16ਤਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਪੰਜ ਰੋਟੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਦੋ ਮਛੀਆਂ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਫ਼ਡ਼ੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਸਮਾਨ ਵੱਲ ਤੱਕ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ੁਕਰਾਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਤਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੋਡ਼ਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੰਡ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ।
17They ate, and were all filled. They gathered up twelve baskets of broken pieces that were left over.
17ਸਭ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੰਤੁਸ਼ਟੀ ਮੁਤਾਬਿਕ ਖਾਧਾ। ਜਦੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਚੇ ਹੋਏ ਟੁਕਡ਼ਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕਠਿਆਂ ਕੀਤਾ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬਾਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਟੋਕਰੀਆਂ ਭਰ ਗਈਆਂ ਸਨ।
18It happened, as he was praying alone, that the disciples were with him, and he asked them, “Who do the multitudes say that I am?”
18ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਇੱਕਲਿਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਉਸਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ। ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਲੋਕ ਕੀ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਕੌਣ ਹਾਂ?”
19They answered, “‘John the Baptizer,’ but others say, ‘Elijah,’ and others, that one of the old prophets is risen again.”
19ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਕੁਝ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਦੂਜੇ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੂੰ ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਚੀਨ ਕਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹੈ ਜਿਹਡ਼ਾ ਦੁਬਾਰਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
20He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered, “The Christ of God.”
20ਤਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਕੌਣ ਹਾਂ?” ਪਤਰਸ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਮਸੀਹ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹੈ।”
21But he warned them, and commanded them to tell this to no one,
21ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੌਕਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੱਸਣੀ।
22saying, “The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up.”
22ਉਸਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਜਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਤਕਲੀਫ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਗੁਜਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਆਗੂਆਂ, ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਵੀ ਨਾਮੰਜ਼ੂਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਤੀਜੇ ਦਿਨ ਮੌਤ ਤੋਂ ਜੀਵਨ ਵੱਲ ਉਭਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ।”
23He said to all, “If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, TR, NU add “daily” and follow me.
23ਉਸਨੇ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਛੇ ਚੱਲਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਰੋਜ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਲੀਬ ਚੁੱਕ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਛੇ ਚੱਲਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
24 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake, the same will save it.
24ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜਿਹਡ਼ਾ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਾਨ ਬਚਾਉਣੀ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਗੁਆ ਲਵੇਗਾ ਪਰ ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਬਲੀਦਾਨ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਉਹ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਲਵੇਗਾ।
25 For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits his own self?
25ਕੀ ਫ਼ਾਇਦਾ ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪੂਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਕਮਾਵੇ ਪਰ ਆਪਣਾ-ਆਪ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰ ਲਵੇ ਜਾਂ ਆਪਣਾ-ਆਪ ਗੁਆ ਲਵੇ?
26 For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed, when he comes in his glory, and the glory of the Father, and of the holy angels.
26ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਮੈਥੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ਰਮਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਵੀ ਉਦੋਂ ਸ਼ਰਮਿੰਦਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਦੂਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਆਵੇਗਾ।
27 But I tell you the truth: There are some of those who stand here, who will in no way taste of death, until they see the Kingdom of God.”
27ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਜਿੰਨੇ ਇਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਇਥੇ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਖਣਗੇ ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਵੇਖ ਲੈਣ।”
28It happened about eight days after these sayings, that he took with him Peter, John, and James, and went up onto the mountain to pray.
28ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਇਹ ਆਖਣ ਤੋਂ ਅਠ ਕੁ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਬਾਦ, ਉਸਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਪਤਰਸ, ਯਾਕੂਬ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਪਹਾਡ਼ ਉੱਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਗਿਆ।
29As he was praying, the appearance of his face was altered, and his clothing became white and dazzling.
29ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਉਸਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਦਾ ਰੰਗ ਰੂਪ ਬਦਲਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਉਸਦੇ ਵਸਤਰ ਚਿਟ੍ਟੇ ਚਮਕੀਲੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
30Behold, two men were talking with him, who were Moses and Elijah,
30ਉਸ ਵਕਤ ਦੋ ਆਦਮੀ ਯਿਸੂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਮੂਸਾ ਅਤੇ ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਸਨ।
31who appeared in glory, and spoke of his departure, literally, “exodus” which he was about to accomplish at Jerusalem.
31ਮੂਸਾ ਅਤੇ ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਵੀ ਬਡ਼ੇ ਚਮਕ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਨਾਲ ਉਸਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੀ ਕਿ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਪਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਸੀ।
32Now Peter and those who were with him were heavy with sleep, but when they were fully awake, they saw his glory, and the two men who stood with him.
32ਪਰ ਪਤਰਸ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੇ ਸਾਥੀ ਗਹਿਰੀ ਨੀਂਦ ਸੁਤ੍ਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ। ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਜਾਗੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਵੇਖੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਦੋ ਹੋਰ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਢ਼ੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ।
33It happened, as they were parting from him, that Peter said to Jesus, “Master, it is good for us to be here. Let’s make three tents: one for you, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah,” not knowing what he said.
33ਜਦੋਂ ਮੂਸਾ ਅਤੇ ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਵਾਪਸ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਤਾਂ ਪਤਰਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਸੁਆਮੀ, ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਇਥੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ। ਅਸੀਂ ਇਥੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਤੰਬੂ ਲਾਵਾਂਗੇ ਇੱਕ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ, ਇੱਕ ਮੂਸਾ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਵਾਸਤੇ।” ਪਰ ਪਤਰਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕੀ ਆਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
34While he said these things, a cloud came and overshadowed them, and they were afraid as they entered into the cloud.
34ਜਦੋਂ ਹਾਲੇ ਪਤਰਸ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਚਾਰ ਚੁਫ਼ੇਰੇ ਇੱਕ ਬੱਦਲ ਛਾਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਡਰ ਗਏ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਬੱਦਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਘਿਰ ਗਏ।
35A voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is my beloved Son. Listen to him!”
35ਤਾਂ ਬੱਦਲ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਆਈ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਇਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ! ਇਹ ਉਹ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਦੀ ਸੁਣੋ।
36When the voice came, Jesus was found alone. They were silent, and told no one in those days any of the things which they had seen.
36ਜਦੋਂ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਅਲੋਪ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਤਾਂ ਉਥੇ ਕੇਵਲ ਯਿਸੂ ਹੀ ਸੀ। ਤਾਂ ਪਤਰਸ, ਯਾਕੂਬ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਚੁੱਪ ਰਹੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਸੀ ਉਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਸੂਚਿਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ।
37It happened on the next day, when they had come down from the mountain, that a great multitude met him.
37ਅਗਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਯਿਸੂ, ਪਤਰਸ, ਯਾਕੂਬ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਪਹਾਡ਼ੀ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਪਸ ਪਰਤ ਆਏ। ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਸਮੂਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆ।
38Behold, a man from the crowd called out, saying, “Teacher, I beg you to look at my son, for he is my only child.
38ਭੀਡ਼ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਚੀਕਿਆ, “ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ! ਮੇਹਰਬਾਨੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖੋ। ਉਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਇੱਕਲੌਤਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ।
39Behold, a spirit takes him, he suddenly cries out, and it convulses him so that he foams, and it hardly departs from him, bruising him severely.
39ਅਚਾਨਕ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰੇਤ ਆਤਮਾ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਹ ਚਿਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਤੇ ਕਾਬੂ ਗੁਆ ਬੈਠਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਝੱਗ ਵਹਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਭਰਿਸ਼ਟ-ਆਤਮਾ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਰੇਸ਼ਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਕਦੀ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੱਡਦਾ।
40I begged your disciples to cast it out, and they couldn’t.”
40ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਅਰਜੋਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਾਲਕ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇਸ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਕਢ੍ਢ ਦੇਣ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਨਾ ਕਰ ਸਕੇ।”
41Jesus answered, “Faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you and bear with you? Bring your son here.”
41ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਹੇ ਬੇਪਰਤੀਤ ਅਤੇ ਭ੍ਰਸ਼ਟ ਪੀਢ਼ੀ! ਕਿੰਨਾ ਚਿਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਾਂਗਾ। ਕਿੰਨਾ ਚਿਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਧੀਰਜਵਾਨ ਰਹਾਂਗਾ।” ਤਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਆਪਣੇ ਬਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਇਥੇ ਲਿਆ।”
42While he was still coming, the demon threw him down and convulsed him violently. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the boy, and gave him back to his father.
42ਜਦੋਂ ਬਾਲਕ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਭੂਤ ਨੇ ਬਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਰਗੀ ਦੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਤੇ ਪਟਕਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਬਾਲਕ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਤੇ ਕਾਬੂ ਗੁਆ ਬੈਠਾ ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਭਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਝਿਡ਼ਕਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
43They were all astonished at the majesty of God. But while all were marveling at all the things which Jesus did, he said to his disciples,
43ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਤੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਸਨ ਜੋ ਯਿਸੂ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀਆਂ ਮਹਾਨ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਲੋਕ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਸਨ। ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ,
44 “Let these words sink into your ears, for the Son of Man will be delivered up into the hands of men.”
44“ਉਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਦੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣੋ ਕਿ: ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੀਂ ਫ਼ਡ਼ਵਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।”
45But they didn’t understand this saying. It was concealed from them, that they should not perceive it, and they were afraid to ask him about this saying.
45ਪਰ ਚੇਲੇ ਇਹ ਨਾ ਸਮਝ ਸਕੇ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕੀ ਆਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਅਰਥ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਛੁਪਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ਇਸਲਈ ਉਹ ਇਹ ਸਮਝ ਨਾ ਸਕੇ। ਪਰ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਛਣ ਤੋਂ ਘਬਰਾਉਦੇ ਸਨ।
46There arose an argument among them about which of them was the greatest.
46ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਇੱਕ ਤਕਰਾਰ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਈ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕਿਹਡ਼ਾ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਣ ਹੈ?
47Jesus, perceiving the reasoning of their hearts, took a little child, and set him by his side,
47ਉਹ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕੀ ਸੋਚ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਉਸਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਬਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਛੋਟੇ ਬਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੋਲ ਖਢ਼ਾ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ,
48and said to them, “Whoever receives this little child in my name receives me. Whoever receives me receives him who sent me. For whoever is least among you all, this one will be great.”
48“ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਛੋਟੇ ਬਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਕਬੂਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਬੂਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਬੂਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਕਬੂਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵਧ ਨਿਮਰਤਾ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵਧ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਣ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੈ।
49John answered, “Master, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, and we forbade him, because he doesn’t follow with us.”
49ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨੇ ਅੱਗੋਂ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਪ੍ਰਭੂ, ਅਸੀਂ ਇੱਕ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਢ੍ਢਦੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ। ਅਸੀਂ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਇਉਂ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਵਰਜਿਆ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।”
50Jesus said to him, “Don’t forbid him, for he who is not against us is for us.”
50ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਉਸਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਰੋਕੋ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਹੈ।”
51It came to pass, when the days were near that he should be taken up, he intently set his face to go to Jerusalem,
51ਉਹ ਵਕਤ ਨੇਡ਼ੇ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਛੱਡਕੇ ਸੁਰਗ ਵੱਲ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
52and sent messengers before his face. They went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, so as to prepare for him.
52ਤਾਂ ਉਸਨੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਦਾ ਫ਼ੈਸਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਸਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਕੁਝ ਆਦਮੀ ਭੇਜੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਤੁਰਕੇ ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਆਉਣ ਦੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਗਏ।
53They didn’t receive him, because he was traveling with his face set towards Jerusalem.
53ਪਰ ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਗਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵੱਲ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।
54When his disciples, James and John, saw this, they said, “Lord, do you want us to command fire to come down from the sky, and destroy them, just as Elijah did?”
54ਉਸਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਵੇਖਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ, ਕੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਰਜ਼ੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਹੁਕਮ ਕਰੀਏ ਕਿ ਸਵਰਗ ਤੋਂ ਅੱਗ ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਤੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇ?”
55But he turned and rebuked them, “You don’t know of what kind of spirit you are.
55ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਮੁਡ਼ਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਝਿਡ਼ਕਿਆ।
56 For the Son of Man didn’t come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them.” They went to another village.
56ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਹ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਲ ਪਏ। 57ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਰਾਹ ਤੇ ਚਲੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਤਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਜਿਥੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਵੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਵੋ, ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਿਛਾ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।” 58ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਲੂਂਬਡ਼ੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਲਈ ਘੋਰਨੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਛੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਲਈ ਆਲ੍ਹਣੇ। ਪਰ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਧਰਕੇ ਆਰਾਮ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕੋਈ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ।” 59ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਛੇ ਤੁਰ ਆ!” ਪਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ! ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਦੇਵੋ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਓ ਨੂੰ ਦਫ਼ਨਾ ਆਵਾਂ।” 60ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੁਰਦੇ ਆਪੇ ਦਬ੍ਬਣ ਦਿਓ ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਬਾਰੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸ।” 61ਦੂਜੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਪ੍ਰਭੂ, ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਮਗਰ ਤੁਰਾਂਗਾ। ਪਰ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਗਿਆ ਦੇਵੋ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਅਲਵਿਦਾ ਆਖ ਆਵਾਂ।” 62ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਹਲ ਤੇ ਰੱਖਕੇ ਪਿਛਾਹਾਂ ਝਾਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਲਾਇਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।”
57As they went on the way, a certain man said to him, “I want to follow you wherever you go, Lord.”

58Jesus said to him, “The foxes have holes, and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”
