1He called to himself his twelve disciples, and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every sickness.

2Now the names of the twelve apostles are these. The first, Simon, who is called Peter; Andrew, his brother; James the son of Zebedee; John, his brother;

5Jesus sent these twelve out, and commanded them, saying, “Don’t go among the Gentiles, and don’t enter into any city of the Samaritans.

6 Rather, go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
6ਸਗੋਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੁਆਚੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਜਾਓ।
7 As you go, preach, saying, ‘The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!’
7ਜਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕਰੋ ‘ਸਵਰਗ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਨੇਡ਼ੇ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।’
8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers TR adds “, raise the dead” , and cast out demons. Freely you received, so freely give.
8ਰੋਗੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਕਰੋ, ਮੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਉਦਿਆਂ ਕਰੋ, ਕੋਢ਼ੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੁਧ ਕਰੋ, ਭੂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਢੋ। ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਮੁਫ਼ਤ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸਲਈ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੀ ਹੋਰਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੁਫ਼ਤ ਮਦਦ ਕਰੋ।
9 Don’t take any gold, nor silver, nor brass in your money belts.
9ਆਪਣੇ ਕਮਰ ਕਸਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੋਨਾ, ਚਾਂਦੀ ਨਾ ਤਾਂਬਾ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਲਿਓ।
10 Take no bag for your journey, neither two coats, nor shoes, nor staff: for the laborer is worthy of his food.
10ਨਾ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਝੋਲਾ ਚੁੱਕੋ। ਆਪਣੇ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਉਹੀ ਕੱਪਡ਼ੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹੀ ਜੁੱਤੀ ਲਿਓ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ। ਨਾ ਹੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਾਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਲਾਠੀ ਲੈਣੀ ਹੈ। ਇੱਕ ਕਾਮੇ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਕ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਲੈ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
11 Into whatever city or village you enter, find out who in it is worthy; and stay there until you go on.
11“ਜਦ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਗਰ ਜਾਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਡ਼ੋ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਪੁਛੋ ਕਿ ਇਥੇ ਲਾਇਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਚਿਰ ਕਿਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਨਾ ਜਾਵੋ ਉਥੇ ਹੀ ਠਹਿਰੇ ਰਹੋ।
12 As you enter into the household, greet it.
12ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਡ਼ਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਉਸਦੀ ਸੁਖ ਮੰਗੋ।
13 If the household is worthy, let your peace come on it, but if it isn’t worthy, let your peace return to you.
13ਜੇਕਰ ਉਸ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਸੁਆਗਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਦੇ ਲਾਇਕ ਹਨ। ਜੋ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਚਾਹੀ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਹੋਵੇ। ਪਰ ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਸੁਆਗਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਦੇ ਲਾਇਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ। ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਖਸ਼ੀ ਉਹ ਵਾਪਸ ਲੈ ਲਵੋ।
14 Whoever doesn’t receive you, nor hear your words, as you go out of that house or that city, shake off the dust from your feet.
14ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਘਰ ਜਾਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਸੁਆਗਤ ਨਾ ਕਰੇ, ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾ ਦੇਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਛਡੋਂ ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂਡ਼ ਝਾਡ਼ ਸੁੱਟੋ।
15 Most certainly I tell you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city.
15ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਨਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਉਸ ਨਗਰ ਦਾ ਹਾਲ ਸਦੂਮ ਅਤੇ ਅਮੂਰਾਹ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੀ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
16 “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
16“ਸੁਣੋ! ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਬਘਿਆਡ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੇਜਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਸੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਪਾਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਹੁਸ਼ਿਆਰ ਅਤੇ ਕਬੂਤਰਾਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਭੋਲੇ ਹੋਵੋ।
17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to councils, and in their synagogues they will scourge you.
17ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਹੋਸ਼ਿਆਰ ਰਹੋ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕੈਦ ਕਰਕੇ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਨਿਰਣਾ ਕਰਨਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕੋਡ਼ੇ ਮਾਰਨਗੇ।
18 Yes, and you will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the nations.
18ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਰਾਜਪਾਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਵੋਗੇ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ, ਰਾਜਪਾਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸੋਂਗੇ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੇ ਗੈਰ-ਯਹੂਦੀ ਹਨ।
19 But when they deliver you up, don’t be anxious how or what you will say, for it will be given you in that hour what you will say.
19ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਲੋਕ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਗਿਰਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕਰਨ, ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਕੀ ਆਖੀਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਦਸੀਏ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਆਖਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਉਸੇ ਘਡ਼ੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
20 For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.
20ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਬੋਲਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੋਂਗੇ, ਸਗੋਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾ ਆਤਮਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਬੋਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
21 “Brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his child. Children will rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death.
21ਭਰਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਰਵਾਉਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਗਿਰਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕਰਾਉਣਗੇ। ਪਿਤਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਚਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਖਢ਼ੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਆਪਾਣੇ ਮਾਪਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਖਢ਼ੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਸੌਂਪ ਦੇਣਗੇ।
22 You will be hated by all men for my name’s sake, but he who endures to the end will be saved.
22ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਭ ਲੋਕ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕਰਨਗੇ। ਜਿਹਡ਼ਾ ਅੰਤ ਤੀਕ ਸਹੇਗਾ ਸੋ ਹੀ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee into the next, for most certainly I tell you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel, until the Son of Man has come.
23ਜੇਕਰ ਇੱਕ ਨਗਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੋਕ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਦੇਣ ਤਾਂ, ਦੂਸਰੇ ਨਗਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਲੇ ਜਾਓ। ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਆਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਨਗਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਵੋਂਗੇ।
24 “A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his lord.
24ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਚੇਲਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਅਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਨੌਕਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਨਹੀਂ
25 It is enough for the disciple that he be like his teacher, and the servant like his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more those of his household!
25ਇੰਨਾ ਹੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਚੇਲਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜਿਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਨੌਕਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇ। ਜੇਕਰ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਬਆਲ-ਜ਼ਬੂਲ (ਸ਼ੈਤਾਨ) ਆਖਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ, ਤਾਂ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਬੱਦਤਰ ਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਦਿਆ ਜ੍ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
26 Therefore don’t be afraid of them, for there is nothing covered that will not be revealed; and hidden that will not be known.
26ਸੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਨਾ ਡਰੋ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਚੀਜ਼ ਲੁਕੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਜਿਹਡ਼ੀ ਪਰਗਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ, ਨਾਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਗੁਪਤ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
27 What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in the ear, proclaim on the housetops.
27ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਚਾਨਾਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਖੋ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਹੋਂ ਉਸਦਾ ਖੁਲ੍ਲੇਆਮ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕਰੋ।
28 Don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna. or, Hell.
28ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਨਾ ਡਰੋ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੇ ਦੇਹ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਂ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟਦੇ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਰੂਹ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਾਰ ਸਕ੍ਕਦੇ, ਸਗੋਂ ਉਸੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਡਰੋ ਜਿਹਡ਼ਾ ਦੇਹ ਅਤੇ ਰੂਹ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਰਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
29 “Aren’t two sparrows sold for an assarion coin An assarion is a small coin worth one tenth of a drachma or a sixteenth of a denarius. An assarion is approximately the wages of one half hour of agricultural labor. ? Not one of them falls on the ground apart from your Father’s will,
29ਇੱਕ ਪੈਸੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਦੋ ਚਿਡ਼ੀਆਂ ਵਿਕਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਵੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਮਰਜ਼ੀ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਖਤਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ।
30 but the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
30ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸਿਰ ਦੇ ਵਾਲ ਵੀ ਗਿਣੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
31 Therefore don’t be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows.
31ਸੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਾ ਡਰੋ! ਤੁਸੀਂ ਬਹੁਤੀਆਂ ਚਿਡ਼ੀਆਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵਧ ਉੱਤਮ ਹੋ।
32 Everyone therefore who confesses me before men, him I will also confess before my Father who is in heaven.

33 But whoever denies me before men, him I will also deny before my Father who is in heaven.

34 “Don’t think that I came to send peace on the earth. I didn’t come to send peace, but a sword.
34“ਇਹ ਨਾ ਸੋਚੋ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਦੇਣ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ। ਮੈਂ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਦੇਣ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸਗੋਂ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ।
35 For I came to set a man at odds against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.

37 He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who loves son or daughter more than me isn’t worthy of me.

38 He who doesn’t take his cross and follow after me, isn’t worthy of me.
38ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਲੀਬ ਨੂੰ ਕਬੂਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਉਹ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਤਦ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਗਰ ਤੁਰੇਗਾ।
39 He who seeks his life will lose it; and he who loses his life for my sake will find it.
39ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵਧ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸੱਚਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਗੁਆ ਲਵੇਗਾ। ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਾਨ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ ਸੱਚਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਲਭ ਲਵੇਗਾ।”
40 He who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives him who sent me.
40“ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕਬੂਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਬੂਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਬੂਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਕਬੂਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ।
41 He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward. He who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man will receive a righteous man’s reward.
41ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਬੀ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਕਬੂਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਨਬੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ, ਉਹ ਉਸਦਾ ਫ਼ਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਜੋ ਇੱਕ ਨਬੀ ਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਚੰਗੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਬੂਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਚੰਗਾ ਆਦਮੀ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਉਸਦਾ ਫ਼ਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਜੋ ਇੱਕ ਚੰਗੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
42 Whoever gives one of these little ones just a cup of cold water to drink in the name of a disciple, most certainly I tell you he will in no way lose his reward.”
42ਇਹ ਛੋਟੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਹਨ। ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਛੋਟਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਇੱਕ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਇਹ ਸੋਚਕੇ ਇੱਕ ਠੰਡੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੁ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਫ਼ਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰੇਗਾ।”
