1Behold, there came a man of God out of Judah by the word of Yahweh to Beth El: and Jeroboam was standing by the altar to burn incense.
1Huan, ngaiin Juda gam akipan in Pathian mi khat, Toupa thu in Bethel ah a honga: huan, Jeroboam bel maitam chinah gimlim hal ding in ana dinga.
2He cried against the altar by the word of Yahweh, and said, “Altar, altar, thus says Yahweh: ‘Behold, a son shall be born to the house of David, Josiah by name. On you he shall sacrifice the priests of the high places who burn incense on you, and they will burn men’s bones on you.’”
2Huan, Toupa thuin matam a kikou khuma, maitam aw, maitam, Toupan hichiin a chi, ngaiin, David inkote lakah tapa a min Josia a hong piang dinga, na tunga gimlim hal sekpa, mun sang siampute na tunga kithoihna dingin a honlan dinga, na tungah mihing guhte a honhal ding uh chiin, achia.
3He gave a sign the same day, saying, “This is the sign which Yahweh has spoken: Behold, the altar will be split apart, and the ashes that are on it will be poured out.”
3Huan, huai ni mahin chiamtehna a pia a, hiai toupan chiamtehna ding a chih ahi: ngaiin, maitam a hong khangkham dinga, a tunga meivute a hong bo vek ding, chih, chiin.
4It happened, when the king heard the saying of the man of God, which he cried against the altar in Bethel, that Jeroboam put out his hand from the altar, saying, “Seize him!” His hand, which he put out against him, dried up, so that he could not draw it back again to himself.
4Huan, hichi ahia, Pathian miin Bethel a maitam a kikou khum thu kumpipan a jakin, Jeroboam in, Man uh, chiin maitam akipan in a khut in a sawk a. Huan, mat tuma a sawkna khut a zota a, huchiin a khut a kaikik nawn theita kei.
5The altar also was split apart, and the ashes poured out from the altar, according to the sign which the man of God had given by the word of Yahweh.
5Pathian miin Toupa thua chiamtehna dinga a gen bangin maitam leng a khanga, maitam a meivute leng a bo vek.
6The king answered the man of God, “Now entreat the favor of Yahweh your God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored me again.” The man of God entreated Yahweh, and the king’s hand was restored him again, and became as it was before.
6Huan, Kumpipan a dawnga, Pathian mi kiangah, ka khut a hongdam nawn theihna dingin Toupa na Pathian hehpihna ngen inla, hon thumsak dih ve, achia. Huan, Pathian miin Toupa kiangah a ngena, huan, Kumpipa khut a hongdam nawna, a malam bangmah in hong om nawnta a.
7The king said to the man of God, “Come home with me, and refresh yourself, and I will give you a reward.”
7Huchiin, Kumpipan Pathian mi kiangah, ka in lamah ka kiangah pongpai inla, hongkhawl tawldam tadih ve, huan, kipahman ka honpe ding hi, achia.
8The man of God said to the king, “Even if you gave me half of your house, I would not go in with you, neither would I eat bread nor drink water in this place;

10So he went another way, and didn’t return by the way that he came to Bethel.
10Huchiin lampi dangah a paia, Bethela a hongkuana lampi ah a paita kei hi.
11Now there lived an old prophet in Bethel; and one of his sons came and told him all the works that the man of God had done that day in Bethel. They also told their father the words which he had spoken to the king.
11Bethel khuaah jawlnei putek khat a oma; a tapa khatin huai nia Bethela Pathian mi thilhih tengteng a hilh vek a: kumpipa kianga a thu gente leng a pa uh a hilh lai ua.
12Their father said to them, “Which way did he go?” Now his sons had seen which way the man of God went, who came from Judah.
12Huan, a pa un a kiang uah, koilam lampi a tawna? A chi a. A tapaten Juda gam akipana hongpai Pathian mi pai nawna lampi a kawkmuh uh.
13He said to his sons, “Saddle the donkey for me.” So they saddled the donkey for him; and he rode on it.
13Huchiin a tapate kiangah, sabengtung honbawl sak dih uh, a chi a. Huchiin sabengtung a bawl sak ua; huchiin a tuangta.
14He went after the man of God, and found him sitting under an oak. He said to him, “Are you the man of God who came from Judah?” He said, “I am.”
14Huan, Pathian mi a delhtaa, toso sing nuaia a tu a vamua: a kiangah, nang na hi maw Juda gam akipana hong Pathian mi? a chi a. Huan, aman, Hi e, a chi a.
15Then he said to him, “Come home with me, and eat bread.”
15Huchiin aman a kiangah, ka in lamah ka kiangah hong inla, tanghou hongne dih ve, a chi a.
16He said, “I may not return with you, nor go in with you; neither will I eat bread nor drink water with you in this place.
16Huan, aman, nang toh kik nawn thei kahi kei, na kianga hong thei leng ka hi sam kei: hiai laiah na kiangah thanghou ka nein tui himhim leng ka dawn sam kei ding:
17For it was said to me by the word of Yahweh, ‘You shall eat no bread nor drink water there, nor turn again to go by the way that you came.’”
17Tanghou vanein, tui himhim leng vadawn ken la, na vahohna lampi ah leng kik nawn ken, chia Toupa thua hilh lah ka hi ngal a, a chi a.
18He said to him, “I also am a prophet as you are; and an angel spoke to me by the word of Yahweh, saying, ‘Bring him back with you into your house, that he may eat bread and drink water.’” He lied to him.
18Huan, aman a kiangah, kei leng nang bang maha jawlnei ka hi vo oi; angelin Toupa thuin, tanghoute nea tuite dawn dingin na in lamah pi kik nawnin, chiin a honhoupih hi, a chi a. Himahleh a kiangah juau a gen ahi.
19So he went back with him, and ate bread in his house, and drank water.
19Huchiin a kiangah a kik nawna, a inah tanghoute a nein tui te a dawnta hi.
20It happened, as they sat at the table, that the word of Yahweh came to the prophet who brought him back;
20Huan, hichi ahi a, dohkan a um lai un a pi kiknawnpa jawlnei kiangah Toupa thu a hongtunga:
21and he cried to the man of God who came from Judah, saying, “Thus says Yahweh, ‘Because you have been disobedient to the mouth of Yahweh, and have not kept the commandment which Yahweh your God commanded you,
21Juda gama kipana hongpai Pathian mi kiangah, TOUPAN hichiin a chi, Toupa thu gen na man louha, Toupa na Pathianin thu a honpiak na pom louh jiak leh,
22but came back, and have eaten bread and drunk water in the place of which he said to you, “Eat no bread, and drink no water”; your body shall not come to the tomb of your fathers.’”
22Na vakik nawna, tanghou vanein tui himhim leng va dawm ken, a chihna mun mahmaha tanghou na neka, tui te na dawn jiakin na luang na pute hana koih ahi tei kei ding, chiin a gen kheta hi.
23It happened, after he had eaten bread, and after he had drunk, that he saddled the donkey for the prophet whom he had brought back.
23Huan, hichi ahia, tanghou te a neka, tuite a dawn zohin, jawlnei a pi kik nawnpa sabengtung a bawl saka.
24When he had gone, a lion met him by the way, and killed him. His body was cast in the way, and the donkey stood by it. The lion also stood by the body.
24Huan, a pai taa lam kalah humpinelkai toh a kituak ua, ana keita hi: huan, a luang lampiah lumlehin a oma, sabengtung a kiangah a dinga, humpinelkai leng luang chin mahah a ding thek.
25Behold, men passed by, and saw the body cast in the way, and the lion standing by the body; and they came and told it in the city where the old prophet lived.
25Huan, ngaiin, mi ava hoh ua, lampia luang lumleha om leh, luang china humpinelkai ding thek a vamu ua: jawlnei putek pi omna khuaah a va gen uh.
26When the prophet who brought him back from the way heard of it, he said, “It is the man of God who was disobedient to the mouth of Yahweh. Therefore Yahweh has delivered him to the lion, which has mauled him and slain him, according to the word of Yahweh, which he spoke to him.”
26Huan, lam kal akipan vapi kik nawnpa jawlneiin huai thu a najak takin, Pathian mi, Toupa thu gen mang nuam loupa ei ve: huchiin TOUPAN a kianga a gen, a thu bangbanga TOUPAN humpinelkai kianga pia a, a nahama, a nakeilumta ahi ve, a chi a.
27He spoke to his sons, saying, “Saddle the donkey for me.” They saddled it.
27Huan, a tapate kiangah, sabengtung honbawlsak dih uh, chiin a gen a. Huan, a bawl sak ua.
28He went and found his body cast in the way, and the donkey and the lion standing by the body. The lion had not eaten the body, nor mauled the donkey.
28Huan, a kuantaa, a luang lampia lumleha na om leh, sabengtung leh humpinelkai a luang china na ding thek a vamu a: humpinelkaiin luang a nane nai keia, sabengtung leng a nahihkeh kei.
29The prophet took up the body of the man of God, and laid it on the donkey, and brought it back. He came to the city of the old prophet to mourn, and to bury him.
29Huan, jawlneiin Pathian mi luang a doma, sabengtung tungah a koiha, a kikpihtaa: huchiin jawlnei putek omna khuaah sun ding leh vui dingin a la luta hi.
30He laid his body in his own grave; and they mourned over him, saying, “Alas, my brother!”
30Huan, a luang amah hanah a siala; huchiin, ka unaupa khawk hina mahmah e! chiin a kah uh.
31It happened, after he had buried him, that he spoke to his sons, saying, “When I am dead, then bury me in the tomb in which the man of God is buried. Lay my bones beside his bones.
31Huan, hichi ahia, a vui khit nungin a tapate kiangah, ka sih chiangin Pathian mi vuina hanah honvui sam u: a guh chin ah ka guhte honkoih un.
32For the saying which he cried by the word of Yahweh against the altar in Bethel, and against all the houses of the high places which are in the cities of Samaria, will surely happen.”
32Pathian thua Bethela maitam leh, Samari gam khopitea mun sang in tengteng a kikoukhumna thu hongtung ngeingei ding lah ahi ngala, chiin a gen a.
33After this thing Jeroboam didn’t return from his evil way, but again made priests of the high places from among all the people. Whoever wanted to, he consecrated him, that there might be priests of the high places.
33Huai thil zohin Jeroboamin a omdan dik lou a tawpsan tuan keia, vantang laka mi mun sang siampu dingin a bawl siampute a om theihna dingun a deihdeih a hihtuam jel hi.Huai thil Jeroboam inkuan khelhna amau ingamsaktu leh khovel akipan hihmagthang geihtu a honghi ta.
34This thing became sin to the house of Jeroboam, even to cut it off, and to destroy it from off the surface of the earth.
34Huai thil Jeroboam inkuan khelhna amau ingamsaktu leh khovel akipan hihmagthang geihtu a honghi ta.
