1Now the days of David drew near that he should die; and he commanded Solomon his son, saying,

3and keep the instruction of Yahweh your God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, his commandments, his ordinances, and his testimonies, according to that which is written in the law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do, and wherever you turn yourself.
3Na thilhih peuhmah leh, na kiheina lam peuhmaha na lamzan theihna dingin Mosi dan a gelh bangin, Toupa na Pathianin a lampite jui ding leh a thuseh te, a thupiakte, a vaihawmte leh a thutheihsakte pom dinga thu a piakte jui in:

4Toupa ka tungtang thua, Na suanten a lungtang tak uleh, a lungsim tak ua ka mitmuha thutaka om dinga a omdan ua a pilvang uleh Israelte laltutphaha tu ding mi na tatlak kei ding uh, chia a gen a hih kip sin ahi.
5“Moreover you know also what Joab the son of Zeruiah did to me, even what he did to the two captains of the armies of Israel, to Abner the son of Ner, and to Amasa the son of Jether, whom he killed, and shed the blood of war in peace, and put the blood of war on his sash that was about his waist, and in his shoes that were on his feet.
5Huan, Zerui tapa Joabin a honbawlsdan, Israelte sepaih heutu nih Ner tapa Abner leh, Jether tapa Amasa te a bawldan na thei hi. Huchia a thaha, kilep laia kidou sisan suaha a suaha, a taia a kawnggaka leh a khedap buta kidouna sisan a bansakdan.
6Do therefore according to your wisdom, and don’t let his gray head go down to Sheol in peace.
6Huchiin pha na sak dan bangin hih inla, a lu a kelsam pou hanah lungmuang takin tum sak ken.
7But show kindness to the sons of Barzillai the Gileadite, and let them be of those who eat at your table; for so they came to me when I fled from Absalom your brother.
7Gilead mi Barzilai tate tungah bel hehpihna hihlangin, na dohkana an ummi dingin tel sakin; na unau Absolom akipana ka taimang laiin ka kiangah a hong ngala.
8“Behold, there is with you Shimei the son of Gera, the Benjamite, of Bahurim, who cursed me with a grievous curse in the day when I went to Mahanaim; but he came down to meet me at the Jordan, and I swore to him by Yahweh, saying, ‘I will not put you to death with the sword.’
8Huan, ngaiin Bahurim khuaa mi, Benjamin suan, Ger tapa Simei na kiangah a om a, aman mahanam muna ka hoh laiin hamse hoihlou pi a honloha, himahleh Jordanah hongdawn dingin a hong kuana, hauilaiah, namsauin ka honthatkei ding, chiin Toupa min louin a kiangah ka nakichiam ta hi.
9Now therefore don’t hold him guiltless, for you are a wise man; and you will know what you ought to do to him, and you shall bring his gray head down to Sheol with blood.”
9Huchiin mohlou louin jaw khah ken, mi pil na hi ngala; a tungah bang chiin na hih dia chih a hih leh na thei mai ding; a lu a kelsam pou sisan toh hanah na tumsak ding ahi, achia.
10David slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David.
10Huan, David bel a pute kiangah a ihmu teitaa, David khopi ah a vui uh.
11The days that David reigned over Israel were forty years; he reigned seven years in Hebron, and he reigned thirty-three years in Jerusalem.
11Israelte tunga David lal sung bel kum sawmli ahi: Hebron khuaah kum sagih a lal a, Jerusalem khuaah kum sawmthum leh kum thum a lal.
12Solomon sat on the throne of David his father; and his kingdom was firmly established.
12Huan, Solomon bel a pa David laltutphah ah a tu a; huchiin a gam nakpi taka hihkipin a hong omta hi.
13Then Adonijah the son of Haggith came to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon. She said, “Do you come peaceably?” He said, “Peaceably.
13Huan, Hagith tapa Adonija bel Solomon nu Bat-seba kiangah a hoha. Aman, hoih lam thua hong na hi maw? achia. Aman, hoih lam thu ah hi e, a chi a.
14He said moreover, I have something to tell you.” She said, “Say on.”
14Huan, na kiangah banghiam gen ding ka nei hi, achi nawn a, aman, gen ve, achi a.
15He said, “You know that the kingdom was mine, and that all Israel set their faces on me, that I should reign. However the kingdom is turned around, and has become my brother’s; for it was his from Yahweh.
15Huan, aman, gam keia a hita chih leh, Israelte tengtengin leng kumpipa dingin kei a hon en thek uh chih na theia: himahleh ka unaupa adingin gam a nahei nawn zota a: Toupa nana seh danin amaha ahi him ahi.
16Now I ask one petition of you. Don’t deny me.” She said to him, “Say on.”
16Tuin thil kahat honnget ding ka nei a, pha honsak sak lou mahmah ken, a chi a, huan, aman a kiangah, gen ve a chi a.
17He said, “Please speak to Solomon the king (for he will not tell you ‘no’), that he give me Abishag the Shunammite as wife.”
17Huan, aman, hehpih takin kumpipa Solomon honhoupihsak inla (nang thu jaw a sel sin ngal kei a). Shunam mi Abisag ji dingin honnei sakin, a chi a.
18Bathsheba said, “Alright. I will speak for you to the king.”
18Huan, Bat-seba, hile ake, kumpipa ka honna houpihsak ding, achia.
19Bathsheba therefore went to king Solomon, to speak to him for Adonijah. The king rose up to meet her, and bowed himself to her, and sat down on his throne, and caused a throne to be set for the king’s mother; and she sat on his right hand.
19Huchiin, Bat-seba bel Adonija a dia kumpipa Solomon houpih dingin a kiangah a hohta hi. Huan, kumpipa amah kipahpih dingin a dinga, a maah a kuna, a laltutphah ah a tua, huan, kumpipa nu adingin laltutphah a tungsaka; a taklamah a tu ta hi.
20Then she said, “I ask one small petition of you; don’t deny me.” The king said to her, “Ask on, my mother; for I will not deny you.”
20Huchiin, thil khat neu chik petmah ka hon ngen ding; pha honsak lou sak mahmah ken, a chi a. Huan, kumpipan a kiangah ngen ve nu: pha ka honsak lou sak het kei ding, a chi a.
21She said, “Let Abishag the Shunammite be given to Adonijah your brother as wife.”
21Huan, aman, Shunam mi Abisag na unaupa Adonija ji dingin nei sakin, a chi a.
22King Solomon answered his mother, “Why do you ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? Ask for him the kingdom also; for he is my elder brother; even for him, and for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab the son of Zeruiah.”
22Huan, kumpipa Solomonin a dawnga, a nu kiangah, bang chidana Shunam mi Abisag pen Adonija dia ngen na hia oi? Gam leng nget sak vanglak tanla; amah ka u a vo oi; amah ading leh siampu Abiathar leh Zerui tapa Joab adingin leng ngen tan la, a chi a.
23Then king Solomon swore by Yahweh, saying, “God do so to me, and more also, if Adonijah has not spoken this word against his own life.
23Huchiin, kumpipa Solomonin Toupa min louin, Adonija thil ngetin amah tunga sihna thu gen a hih kei himhim leh Pathianin a lohlohin honloh mai hen huai sanga thupijaw in leng.
24Now therefore as Yahweh lives, who has established me, and set me on the throne of David my father, and who has made me a house, as he promised, surely Adonijah shall be put to death this day.”
24Huchiin, Toupa, a thuchiam banga honhihkip, ka pa David laltutphaha hontusak, inkuan honna phuhkhiaksakppa hinna louin ka gen hi. Adonija tuni mahmahin hihlup ngeingei sing ahi, chiin a kichiamta a.
25King Solomon sent by Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he fell on him, so that he died.
25Huchiin, kumpipa Solomonin Jehoiada tapa Benai a sawla, aman a vasuala, a thatta hi.
26To Abiathar the priest the king said, “Go to Anathoth, to your own fields; for you are worthy of death. But I will not at this time put you to death, because you bore the ark of the Lord Yahweh before David my father, and because you were afflicted in all in which my father was afflicted.”
26Huan, siampu Abiathar kiangah kumpipan, Anathoth khuaah nang in leh lou ah pai mang in, si pah dia kilawm na hipeuh mah hi: himahleh ka pa David maa Toupa Pathian bawn na najawn sek jiakin leh ka pa haksatna thuakna tengtenga na nathuak sam sek jiakin tuin jaw ka honhihlum tadih kei ding, a chi a.
27So Solomon thrust out Abiathar from being priest to Yahweh, that he might fulfill the word of Yahweh, which he spoke concerning the house of Eli in Shiloh.
27Huchiin, Solomonin Abiathar Toupa siampu a hihna a tawpsak a, Toupan Silo khuaa Eli inkuante tungtang thu a gen a tun theihna dingin.
28The news came to Joab; for Joab had turned after Adonijah, though he didn’t turn after Absalom. Joab fled to the Tent of Yahweh, and caught hold on the horns of the altar.

30Benaiah came to the Tent of Yahweh, and said to him, “Thus says the king, ‘Come forth!’” He said, “No; but I will die here.” Benaiah brought the king word again, saying, “Thus said Joab, and thus he answered me.”
30Huan, Benai Toupa puanin ah a hoh toua, a kiangah, kumpipan hongpawt khia heh a chi, achia. Huan, aman, hi lou e; hiaiah ka si mai ding, a chi a. Huan, Benaiin, Joabin hichiin a nachia, hichibangin a honna dawng hi, chiin kumpipa kiangah thu a tun nawn a.
31The king said to him, “Do as he has said, and fall on him, and bury him; that you may take away the blood, which Joab shed without cause, from me and from my father’s house.
31Huan, kumpipan a kiangah, a chih bangin hih inla, vasual inla, vuiin, a jiak om hetloua Joabin sisan a suahna akipan kei leh ka pa inkote na hulsak theihna dingin,
32Yahweh will return his blood on his own head, because he fell on two men more righteous and better than he, and killed them with the sword, and my father David didn’t know it: Abner the son of Ner, captain of the army of Israel, and Amasa the son of Jether, captain of the army of Judah.
32Huchiin, amah sanga mi kizen jaw leh hoih jaw mi nih, Ner tapa Abner, Israelte sepaih heutu leh Jether tapa Amasa, Judate sepaih heutu ka pa David theih louha suala, namsaua thah jiakin Toupan a san amah lu tungah a kik sak nawn ding.
33So shall their blood return on the head of Joab, and on the head of his seed forever. But to David, and to his seed, and to his house, and to his throne, there shall be peace forever from Yahweh.”
33Huchiin, a sisan uh Joab lu tungah leh, a suante lu tungah khantawnin a kik dinga: David tungah te, a suante tungah te, a inkote tungah te, a laltutphah tungah te bel Toupa kianga kipan lungmuanna khantawnin a om nilouh ding, a chi a.
34Then Benaiah the son of Jehoiada went up, and fell on him, and killed him; and he was buried in his own house in the wilderness.
34Huchiin, Jehoiada tapa Benai a vahoh toua, a vasuala, a that; huan, gamdaiah amah inah a vui uhi.
35The king put Benaiah the son of Jehoiada in his place over the army; and the king put Zadok the priest in the place of Abiathar.
35Huan, kumpipan Jehoiada tapa Benai bel sepaihte tungah a sikin a pangsaka: huan, siampu Zadok bel kumpipan Abiathar sikin a pangsak hi.
36The king sent and called for Shimei, and said to him, “Build yourself a house in Jerusalem, and dwell there, and don’t go out from there anywhere.
36Huan, kumpipan Simei a sam saka, a kiangah, Jerusalem ah in lam inla huaiah om inla, huaia kipan koi dang mahah pawt ken.

38Shimei said to the king, “The saying is good. As my lord the king has said, so will your servant do.” Shimei lived in Jerusalem many days.
38Huan, Simeiin kumpipa kiangah, a dik hi: Toupa ka puin a gen bangin na sikhain a hih jel ding, a chi a. Huan, Simei Jerusalemah sawt kuam tak a om a.
39It happened at the end of three years, that two of the servants of Shimei ran away to Achish, son of Maacah, king of Gath. They told Shimei, saying, “Behold, your servants are in Gath.”
39Huan, hichi ahia, kum thum a honghih nungin Simei sikhate laka nih Gath kho kumpipa Maak tapa Akis kiangah a tai ua; huan, ngaiin na sikhate Gath khuaah a om uh, chiin Simei a hilh ua.

41It was told Solomon that Shimei had gone from Jerusalem to Gath, and had come again.

42The king sent and called for Shimei, and said to him, “Didn’t I adjure you by Yahweh, and warn you, saying, ‘Know for certain, that on the day you go out, and walk abroad any where, you shall surely die?’ You said to me, ‘The saying that I have heard is good.’
42Huan, kumpipan Simei a samsaka, a kiangah, na pawt ni, gam danga na pawtkhiak ni niin na si ngeingei ding, chiin Toupa min louin ka honkichiamsakin, ka hontheisak ahi kei maw? huan, nangmah inleng ka kiangah, na thu gen ka jak a hoih hi, na chi a.
43Why then have you not kept the oath of Yahweh, and the commandment that I have instructed you with?”
43Bangdia Toupa kichiamna leh thu ka honpiak tangtun lou na hia? a chi a.
44The king said moreover to Shimei, “You know all the wickedness which your heart is privy to, that you did to David my father. Therefore Yahweh shall return your wickedness on your own head.
