1 Samuel

15

1Samuel said to Saul, “Yahweh sent me to anoint you to be king over his people, over Israel. Now therefore listen to the voice of the words of Yahweh.
1Huan, Samuelin Saula kiangah, TOUPAN a mite tungah, Israelte tungah kumpipa dinga nang sathau hon nilh dinga hon sawl ahi; huchiin TOUPA thugen aw ngaikhe dih.
2Thus says Yahweh of Armies, ‘I have marked that which Amalek did to Israel, how he set himself against him in the way, when he came up out of Egypt.
2Sepaihte TOUPAN, Amalek miten Israelte tunga a thilhih uh, Aigupta gam akipana a hong pawt lai ua a nadal dante ka chiamteh gige a.
3Now go and strike Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and don’t spare them; but kill both man and woman, infant and nursing baby, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.’”
3Amalekte sual dingin kuan inla, a thil neih tengteng uh hawi himhim neilouin hihmang vekin; numei pasal naungekte, nawi nelai te, bawngtalte, belamte, sangawngsaute, sabengtungte toh hihlum vek in, a chi ahi, a chi a.
4Saul summoned the people, and numbered them in Telaim, two hundred thousand footmen, and ten thousand men of Judah.
4Huchiin Samuelin mipite a sam khawma. Telain khua ah a sima, sepaih nuai nih leh Juda mi sing khat ahi uh.
5Saul came to the city of Amalek, and laid wait in the valley.
5Huan, Saula Amalekte khua a tung suka, guam ah a nabuk a.
6Saul said to the Kenites, “Go, depart, go down from among the Amalekites, lest I destroy you with them; for you showed kindness to all the children of Israel, when they came up out of Egypt.” So the Kenites departed from among the Amalekites.
6Huan, Saulain Kente kiangah, hongpawt unla, Amalekte akipan kihui khia un, huchilouin jaw ka hon hihlum tel kha ding: nou jaw Israel suante tengteng Aigupta akipana hongpawt un na nahehpih ngal ua, a chi a. Huchiin Kente Amalek mite lak akipan a pawt uh.
7Saul struck the Amalekites, from Havilah as you go to Shur, that is before Egypt.
7Huchiin Saulain Amalek mite Havila akipana Aigupta gam china Sur tanin a suala.
8He took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword.
8Huan, Amalek mite kumpipa Agag a hing mata, mipi tengteng namsauin a satlum vek hi.
9But Saul and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, and of the cattle, and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all that was good, and wouldn’t utterly destroy them: but everything that was vile and refuse, that they destroyed utterly.
9Ahihhangin Saul leh mipiten Agag a hawi ua, belam hoih hoih, bawngtal hoihhoih, a thauthau, belamnoute, a hoih tengteng toh, huaite bel a hihlum nuam kei uh; a hoihlou leh a deih louh peuhmah uh bel a hihlum vek uh.
10Then the word of Yahweh came to Samuel, saying,
10Huchiin TOUPA thu Samuel kiangah a hongtunga.
11“It grieves me that I have set up Saul to be king; for he is turned back from following me, and has not performed my commandments.” Samuel was angry; and he cried to Yahweh all night.
11Saula kumpipa dia ka naseh ka sik hi: a honjui lai hon nungngat sanin ka thupiak bangin lah a hih ngal keia, a chi a. Huan, Samuel a heha, jankhuain TOUPA a sam hi.
12Samuel rose early to meet Saul in the morning; and it was told Samuel, saying, “Saul came to Carmel, and behold, he set up a monument for himself, and turned, and passed on, and went down to Gilgal.”
12Huan, Samuel Saula dawn dingin jing khangin a thou a: huan, Saula bel Karmel ah a hoha, ngaiin, huaiah theihgigena suang a phut a, huan, a kik nawna, a pai jela, Gilgal ah a pai sukta, chih Samuel a hilh ua.
13Samuel came to Saul; and Saul said to him, “You are blessed by Yahweh! I have performed the commandment of Yahweh.”
13Huan, Samuel Saula kianglamah a hohtaa; huan, Saulain a kiangah, TOUPAN honvualjawl hen; TOUPA thupiak bangin ka hihta hi, a chi a.
14Samuel said, “Then what does this bleating of the sheep in my ears, and the lowing of the cattle which I hear mean?”
14Huan, Samuelin, tua belam ham ka bil a honglut leh bawng ham ka jak te bangchidan ahi dia leh? A chi a.
15Saul said, “They have brought them from the Amalekites; for the people spared the best of the sheep and of the cattle, to sacrifice to Yahweh your God. We have utterly destroyed the rest.”
15Huan, Saulain, Amalek mitek mitea a hon laksak uh ahi; TOUPA na Pathian kianga kithoihna dingin mipiten belam hoih hoih leh bawngtal hoih hoih a hawi uh ahi; huan, adang tengteng ahihleh ka hihlum vek uh, a chi a.
16Then Samuel said to Saul, “Stay, and I will tell you what Yahweh has said to me last night.” He said to him, “Say on.”
16Huchiin Samuelin Saula kiangah, daiin janjana TOUPAN ka kianga thu a gen ka honhilh ding, a chi a. Aman a kiangah, gen dih ve, a chi a.
17Samuel said, “Though you were little in your own sight, weren’t you made the head of the tribes of Israel? Yahweh anointed you king over Israel;
17Huan, Samuelin, nang ngaihin mi neuchik hi mah le chin leng, Israel nam heutu dinga honbawl na hi kei maw? Huan, TOUPAN Israelte kumpipa dingin sathau a hon nilha;
18and Yahweh sent you on a journey, and said, ‘Go, and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until they are consumed.’
18Huan, TOUPAN nang a honsawl khiaa, kuan inla, mikhialte, Amalek mite hihlum vek inla, a manthat sipsip masiah uh sual jel in, a honchi a.
19Why then didn’t you obey the voice of Yahweh, but took the spoils, and did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh?”
19Bangdia TOUPA thu jui loua, gallak thilte a boha na boha, TOUPA mitmuha thil hoihlou na hih mawk? A chi a.
20Saul said to Samuel, “But I have obeyed the voice of Yahweh, and have gone the way which Yahweh sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites.
20Huan, Saulain Samuel kiangah, E, TOUPA thu ka jui vo oi, TOUPAN honsawlna lamah ka hoha, Amalek kumpipa Agag ka hon mana, Amalek mite ka hihlum vek vo oi.
21But the people took of the spoil, sheep and cattle, the chief of the devoted things, to sacrifice to Yahweh your God in Gilgal.”
21Ahihhangin mipiten bel gallak thil belam leh bawngtalte hihman ding laka a hoih hoih Gilgal khuaa TOUPA na Pathian kianga kithoihna dingin a hontawi ua, a chi a.
22Samuel said, “Has Yahweh as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of Yahweh? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams.
22Huan, Samuelin, TOUPAN TOUPA thu jui a pakta bangin halmang thillatte leh kithoihnate a pakta ahia? Ngaiin, kithoihna sangin thuman a hoihjaw a, belamtal thau sangin a thu zuih a hoihjaw hi.
23For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as idolatry and teraphim. Because you have rejected the word of Yahweh, he has also rejected you from being king.”
23Helna jaw aisansiamna khelhnate toh a kibanga, engtatna jaw milim biak leh pathian lim biak toh a kikim hi. TOUPA thu na deih louh jiakin aman leng kumpipa dingin a hondeih samta kei hi, a chi a.
24Saul said to Samuel, “I have sinned; for I have transgressed the commandment of Yahweh, and your words, because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.
24Huan, Saulain Samuel kiangah, ka nakhialta: TOUPA thupiak leh na thu ka na bohse maijen a; mipite ka na kihtaka a thu uh ka namanna lamah.
25Now therefore, please pardon my sin, and turn again with me, that I may worship Yahweh.”
25Huchiin ka khelhna ngaidam inla, TOUPA ka biak theihna ding in hon paipih nawn dih ve, a chi a.
26Samuel said to Saul, “I will not return with you; for you have rejected the word of Yahweh, and Yahweh has rejected you from being king over Israel.”
26Huan, Samuelin Saula kiangah, kon paipih kei mah ding: TOUPA thu lah na deih ngal keia, huan, TOUPAN leng Israelte kumpipa dingin a hon deih samta kei hi, a chi a.
27As Samuel turned about to go away, Saul grabbed the skirt of his robe, and it tore.
27Huchiin Samuel pai dinga a kihei leh a puangei a lena, a kekte hi.
28Samuel said to him, “Yahweh has torn the kingdom of Israel from you this day, and has given it to a neighbor of yours who is better than you.
28Huchiin Samuelin a kiangah, tuni akipanin TOUPAN Israel gam a honsutta, nang sanga hoihjaw na inveng a peta hi.
29Also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent; for he is not a man, that he should repent.”
29Huan, Israelte thagui a juau kei dinga, a kisik sam kei ding; mihing banga kisik nawn mawkmawk mi lah ahi ngal keia, a chi a.
30Then he said, “I have sinned: yet please honor me now before the elders of my people, and before Israel, and come back with me, that I may worship Yahweh your God.”
30Huchiin aman, ka nakhialta hi: himahleh ka mite upate leh Israelte maa hon pahtawi dingin ka honngen hi; huan, TOUPA na Pathian ka biak theihna dingin hon paipih teitei in, a chi a.
31So Samuel went back with Saul; and Saul worshiped Yahweh.
31Huchiin Samuelin Saula a paipihtaa, Saulain TOUPA a beta hi.
32Then Samuel said, “Bring here to me Agag the king of the Amalekites!” Agag came to him cheerfully. Agag said, “Surely the bitterness of death is past.”
32Huchiin Samuelin, Amalek mite kumpipa Agag ka kiangah honpi un, a chi a. Huchiin Agag kiangah ling kawmin a vahoh a. Huan, Agagin, sihna kha pelta ka hi ngei ding maw, a chi a.
33Samuel said, “As your sword has made women childless, so your mother will be childless among women!” Samuel cut Agag in pieces before Yahweh in Gilgal.
33Huan, Samuelin, Na namsauin numeite ta neilou ding a a bawl bangin na nu leng numei laka ta neilou mi ahi dinga, a chi a. Huchiin Samuelin Agag Gilgal khua ah TOUPA maah a sat janta hi
34Then Samuel went to Ramah; and Saul went up to his house to Gibeah of Saul.
34Huan, Samuel bel Rama khua ah a paia; huan, Saula bel a in ah Saula omna khua Gibea ah a paitou ta.Huchiin Samuelin in a sih ni phain Saula a pha nawnta keia; Samuel bel Saula jiakin lungkham ahihleh a lungkham hi: huan, TOUPA Israelte kumpipa dinga Saula a natel a kisik hi.
35Samuel came no more to see Saul until the day of his death; for Samuel mourned for Saul: and Yahweh grieved that he had made Saul king over Israel.
35Huchiin Samuelin in a sih ni phain Saula a pha nawnta keia; Samuel bel Saula jiakin lungkham ahihleh a lungkham hi: huan, TOUPA Israelte kumpipa dinga Saula a natel a kisik hi.
