2 Chronicles

13

1In the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam began Abijah to reign over Judah.
1Jeroboam kum sawm leh kum giat a lal kumin Judate tungah Abija a lalpan hi,
2He reigned three years in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Micaiah the daughter of Uriel of Gibeah. There was war between Abijah and Jeroboam.
2Jerusalem ah kum thum a lala, a nu min Maaka, Giben mi uriel tanu ahi. Huan, Abija leh Jerobaum bel akidou uhi.
3Abijah joined battle with an army of valiant men of war, even four hundred thousand chosen men: and Jeroboam set the battle in array against him with eight hundred thousand chosen men, who were mighty men of valor.
3Huan, Abijain sepaih kidoumi. mi hangsan nuai li tel ngen toh a vasual ua, huan Jeroboam mi hat hangsan tel chiat nuai giat kiphalhin a nadou hi.
4Abijah stood up on Mount Zemaraim, which is in the hill country of Ephraim, and said, “Hear me, Jeroboam and all Israel:
4Huan, Abija bel, Ephraim bel singtang gama om Zemariam mualvum tungah, a dinga. Aw. Jeroboam Israelte tengteng toh nangaikhia un;
5Ought you not to know that Yahweh, the God of Israel, gave the kingdom over Israel to David forever, even to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt?
5TOUPA Israelte pathianin Israel gam David leh a tate chi thukhunin khantawna dingin apia chih thei dia kilawm mahmah hilou nahi uh maw?
6Yet Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, rose up, and rebelled against his lord.
6Himahleh Nebat tapa Jeroboam, David tapa Solomon sikha a pu tungah a honghel mai maha.
7There were gathered to him worthless men, base fellows, who strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and tenderhearted, and could not withstand them.
7Huan, Rehoboam a naupanglaia, a lungsim a nem laia, amaute a nanan theih louh laiin Solomon tapa Rehoboam kalhin mi thulimlou Belial tate a kikaikhawm ua.
8“Now you think to withstand the kingdom of Yahweh in the hand of the sons of David; and you are a great multitude, and there are with you the golden calves which Jeroboam made you for gods.
8Huan, David tapa lakah TOUPA gam dou thei nakigingta kei ua: tam leng na tam kuam ua, Jeroboam in pathian dinga nou a honbawlsak dangkaeng bawngnou limte leng na kiang uah a om nalaia.
9Haven’t you driven out the priests of Yahweh, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and made priests for yourselves after the ways of the peoples of other lands? so that whoever comes to consecrate himself with a young bull and seven rams, the same may be a priest of those who are no gods.
9TOUPA siampu, Aron tapate leh Levite delhkhia in, gamsang mite hih dan bangin bangin siampu na kibawl uh ahi kei maw? huchiin bawng tuai leh belam sagiha hongkilan peuhmahte pathian hi loupi siampu ahi thei jel mawk ua.
10“But as for us, Yahweh is our God, and we have not forsaken him; and we have priests ministering to Yahweh, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites in their work:
10Himahleh kou jaw, TOUPA bel ka pathian uh ahi a, amah ka lehngatsan kei ua: TOUPA adia, nasemmi amau na chiat sem Aron tapa siampute leh Levite ka nei uh
11and they burn to Yahweh every morning and every evening burnt offerings and sweet incense. They also set the show bread in order on the pure table; and the lampstand of gold with its lamps, to burn every evening: for we keep the instruction of Yahweh our God; but you have forsaken him.
11Huan niteng leh jan teng in TOUPA adin halmang thillat te, gimlim te, a hal jel uh, tanghou siah leng dohkan siangthou ah a koih kichian sek uhi; nitak lam tenga hal ding in dangkaeng khawnvak koihna a khawnvak toh; kou jaw TOUPAka pathian uh thupiak ka jui gige ua, nou bel amah na lehngat san uhi.
12Behold, God is with us at our head, and his priests with the trumpets of alarm to sound an alarm against you. Children of Israel, don’t fight against Yahweh, the God of your fathers; for you shall not prosper.”
12Huan ngaih dih ua, pathian ka ma uh piin ka kiang uah a oma, huan a siampute leng a pengkul ua nou honnoh dingin mut dingin a om uhi. Aw, Israel suante aw TOUPA napal leh pute uh pathian jaw dou mahmah kei un, na lamzang kei hial ding uhi, a chi a.
13But Jeroboam caused an ambush to come about behind them: so they were before Judah, and the ambush was behind them.
13Himahleh Jeroboamin a nunglam uah a guktan saka: huchiin Judate malam ah a om ua, guktanmite a nunglam a om uh.
14When Judah looked back, behold, the battle was before and behind them; and they cried to Yahweh, and the priests sounded with the trumpets.
14Huan, Judate aleh ngat uleh a nunglam uah leh a malam uah gal a omtaa, TOUPA a samta ua, siamputen pengkul amut uh.
15Then the men of Judah gave a shout: and as the men of Judah shouted, it happened, that God struck Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.
15Huchiin Judate aki kou jua jua ua; huchia Juda a kikou juajua ualeh hichi ahi a, Abija leh Judate maah TOUPAN Jeroboam leh Israelte tengtenga vual lel sakta hi.
16The children of Israel fled before Judah; and God delivered them into their hand.
16Huchiin Israel suante Judate maah a taikek ua, pathian in a khut uah a petahi.
17Abijah and his people killed them with a great slaughter: so there fell down slain of Israel five hundred thousand chosen men.
17Huchiin Abija leh a heuten amau a thak ek uhi: huchiin Israel mi tel ngen nuai nga a that uh.
18Thus the children of Israel were brought under at that time, and the children of Judah prevailed, because they relied on Yahweh, the God of their fathers.
18Huai tungin Israel suante vuallelh dan huchibang ahi, Juda suanten TOUPA a pi leh pute uh pathian a muan jiak un a jouta uh.
19Abijah pursued after Jeroboam, and took cities from him, Bethel with its towns, and Jeshanah with its towns, and Ephron with its towns.
19Huan, Abijain Jeroboam a delhna, a khuate a lak saka, Bethel a khopelte toh, Jesana a khopelte toh Ephron a khopelte toh.
20Jeroboam didn’t recover strength again in the days of Abijah. Yahweh struck him, and he died.
20Abija lal laitengin Jeroboamin din khiak zohna a nei nawn kei; TOUPAN a gawta, a sita.
21But Abijah grew mighty, and took to himself fourteen wives, and became the father of twenty-two sons, and sixteen daughters.
