2 Chronicles

24

1Joash was seven years old when he began to reign; and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Zibiah, of Beersheba.
1Joas bel a lal pattungin kum sagiha upa ahi; Jerusalem ah kum sawmli a lala; a nu min Zibia, Beer-seba mi ahi.
2Joash did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh all the days of Jehoiada the priest.
2Huan, Joasin siampu Jehoiada damsung in TOUPA mitmuhin thil hoih a hih.
3Jehoiada took for him two wives; and he became the father of sons and daughters.
3Huan, Jehoiadain ji nih a nei a nei saka, tanu leh tapate a nei hi.
4It happened after this, that Joash intended to restore the house of Yahweh.
4Huan, hichi ahi a, huai nungin Joasin TOUPA in bawl phat lungsimin a nei a.
5He gathered together the priests and the Levites, and said to them, “Go out to the cities of Judah, and gather money to repair the house of your God from all Israel from year to year. See that you expedite this matter.” However the Levites didn’t do it right away.
5Siampute leh Levite a kaikhawma, Judate khua ahte hoh unla kum tenga na pathian in uh bawl phatna dingin Israel mi tengteng kiangah dangka vakhonkhawm dih ua, jekai kei un, chi a. Himahleh Levite a kintat tuan kei uh.
6The king called for Jehoiada the chief, and said to him, “Why haven’t you required of the Levites to bring in the tax of Moses the servant of Yahweh, and of the assembly of Israel, out of Judah and out of Jerusalem, for the tent of the testimony?”
6Huan, kumpipan siampu lalpen Jehoiada a sama,. a kiangah, Bangdia Levite TOUPA sikha Mosi leh Israel mipite seh theihsakna puanin adia thoh bikhiah seh Juda mi leh Jerusalem mite thoh dinga phut lou na hia?
7For the sons of Athaliah, that wicked woman, had broken up God’s house; and they also gave all the dedicated things of the house of Yahweh to the Baals.
7Mi gilounu Athalia tapaten lah pathian in a hihse khinta ngal uai, huan, TOUPA ina thillat tengteng Baal te a pe khin behlap lai ngal ua, achi a
8So the king commanded, and they made a chest, and set it outside at the gate of the house of Yahweh.
8Huchiin, kumpipan thu a piaa, bawm a bawl ua, TOUPAin kongpi polamah a koih ua.
9They made a proclamation through Judah and Jerusalem, to bring in for Yahweh the tax that Moses the servant of God laid on Israel in the wilderness.
9Huan, gamdaia pathian sikha Mosiin Israel mite hih dinga thoh bikhiah a seh TOUPA dinga honthoh dingin Juda gam tengteng leh Jerusalem ah thu a thangsakta hi.
10All the princes and all the people rejoiced, and brought in, and cast into the chest, until they had made an end.
10Huchiin miliante leh mipite a kipak ua, a dangka te uh a honla ua, a khon khit masiah uh bawmah a hongkoih ekek maimah uhi.
11It was so, that whenever the chest was brought to the king’s officers by the hand of the Levites, and when they saw that there was much money, the king’s scribe and the chief priest’s officer came and emptied the chest, and took it, and carried it to its place again. Thus they did day by day, and gathered money in abundance.
11Huan, Leviten kumpipa upate kianga bawm a hontawi ua, dangka tampi a om chih a theih un kumpipa laigelhmi leh siampu kumpipa seh upain bawm akipan a bung khiaa, a la ua, a mun ah a koih nawn uh. huchibangin ni tengin a hih ua, dangka tampi a kholkhawm ta uhi.
12The king and Jehoiada gave it to such as did the work of the service of the house of Yahweh; and they hired masons and carpenters to restore the house of Yahweh, and also such as worked iron and brass to repair the house of Yahweh.
12Huan, kumpipa leh jehoiadain TOUPA in nasem mite khutah a pia ua, TOUPA in bawl pha dingin suang sekmite leh khutsiamte a guai ua, huan, TOUPA in bawl pha dingin sik leh dala khutsiamte leng.
13So the workmen worked, and the work of repairing went forward in their hands, and they set up God’s house in its state, and strengthened it.
13Huchiin, nasemmite asual ua, a sem hoih mahmah mai ua, Pathian in a ngei bang geihin a bawl pha ua, a dingkip nawn ta hi.
14When they had made an end, they brought the rest of the money before the king and Jehoiada, of which were made vessels for the house of Yahweh, even vessels with which to minister and to offer, and spoons, and vessels of gold and silver. They offered burnt offerings in the house of Yahweh continually all the days of Jehoiada.
14Huan, a zoh un dangka omlai teng kumpipa leh Jehoiada kiangah a hontawi ua, huaiin TOUPA ina nasep nadinga tuium-belsuan te latna tuiumbelsuan te, sikkeu te leh dangkasik tuiumbelsuante nangawn a bawl uh. Huchiin Jehoiada dam sungin TOUPA in ah halmang thillat alan thek uh.
15But Jehoiada grew old and was full of days, and he died; one hundred thirty years old was he when he died.
15Himahleh Jehoiada bel upa pi tekkuna damin a sita. A sihin kum ja leh sawmthum upa ahi.
16They buried him in the city of David among the kings, because he had done good in Israel, and toward God and his house.
16Huan Israelte lakah pathian tungah leh a in tungtanga thil a hih hoih jiakin David khopi ah kumpipate lakah a vui uhi.
17Now after the death of Jehoiada came the princes of Judah, and made obeisance to the king. Then the king listened to them.
17Huan, Jehoiada sih nungin Juda miliante ahong kuan ua, kumpipa kiangah toulutna a bawl uh. Kumpipan a thu uh a napom.
18They forsook the house of Yahweh, the God of their fathers, and served the Asherim and the idols: and wrath came on Judah and Jerusalem for this their guiltiness.
18Huchiin a pi leh pute uh Pathian TOUPA in a lehngatsan ua, Aserte leh milimte na a semta uh: huan, a khelhna uh jiakin Judate leh Jerusalem tungah hehna a hongtung ta hi.
19Yet he sent prophets to them, to bring them again to Yahweh; and they testified against them: but they would not give ear.
19Himahleh TOUPA kianga pi kik dingin a kiang uah jawlneite a sawla, a mohdan te uh a theisak ua, himahleh a bil uh a doh nuam tuan kei uh.
20The Spirit of God came on Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest; and he stood above the people, and said to them, “Thus says God, ‘Why do you disobey the commandments of Yahweh, so that you can’t prosper? Because you have forsaken Yahweh, he has also forsaken you.’”
20Huan, siampu Jehoiada tapa Zekaria tungah Pathian kha a hongtunga, amah mipi tung lamah a dinga, a kiang uah, Pathian in hichiin a chi, Bangdia lamzan theihlouh loha TOUPA thupiak hihsia na hi ua? TOUPA na lehngatsan jiak un aman leng nou a honlehngatsan ahi, a chi a.
21They conspired against him, and stoned him with stones at the commandment of the king in the court of the house of Yahweh.
21Huan amah a sawmta ua, kumpipa thupiakin TOUPA biakin huangsungah suangin a denglumta uh.
22Thus Joash the king didn’t remember the kindness which Jehoiada his father had done to him, but killed his son. When he died, he said, “May Yahweh look at it, and repay it.”
22Huchibangin kumpipa Joasin a pa Jehoiada hehpihna thei gige louin a tapa a that ta hi. Huan, asih kuan in, TOUPAN a hongngaihtuah dinga, phu a honglak sak ding, a chi a.
23It happened at the end of the year, that the army of the Syrians came up against him: and they came to Judah and Jerusalem, and destroyed all the princes of the people from among the people, and sent all their spoil to the king of Damascus.
23Huan, hichi ahia, kum a hongbeiin Suria sepaihten a hongsual ua; Juda gam leh Jerusalem ah al ut ua, a milian tengteng uh a hihman sak ua, Damaska kumpipa kiangah gallak sum tengteng a khak vekta uhi.
24For the army of the Syrians came with a small company of men; and Yahweh delivered a very great army into their hand, because they had forsaken Yahweh, the God of their fathers. So they executed judgment on Joash.
24Suria sepaihte bel tawmchik kia a hongkuan ua; api leh pute uh Pathian TOUPA a lehngatsan jiak un TOUPAN sepaih tampite a khut uah a pia ahi. Huchibangin Joas tungah gawtna a tung sak uhi.
25When they were departed for him (for they left him very sick), his own servants conspired against him for the blood of the sons of Jehoiada the priest, and killed him on his bed, and he died; and they buried him in the city of David, but they didn’t bury him in the tombs of the kings.
25Huan, a paisan nung un (natna thupi tak thuakin a paisan ua) amah mite ngeiin siampu Jehoiada tapate sisan jiakin a sawm ua, a lupnaa lum lai a that ua, a sita hi: David khopi ah a vui ua, himahleh kumpipate hanah a phum tei kei uh.
26These are those who conspired against him: Zabad the son of Shimeath the Ammonitess, and Jehozabad the son of Shimrith the Moabitess.
26Hiaite amah sawmmite ahi uh; Amon mi Simeath tapa Zabad leh Moab mi Simrith tapa Jehozabad.Huchiin a tapate tungah thute, a tunga puakgik tak hong kingak tungtang thu te; Pathian in a bawlphat tungtang thu te, ngai dih kumpipa tanchin hilhchianna bu ah gelh ahi. Huan, a sikin a tapa Amazia a lalta hi.
27Now concerning his sons, and the greatness of the burdens laid on him, and the rebuilding of God’s house, behold, they are written in the commentary of the book of the kings. Amaziah his son reigned in his place.
27Huchiin a tapate tungah thute, a tunga puakgik tak hong kingak tungtang thu te; Pathian in a bawlphat tungtang thu te, ngai dih kumpipa tanchin hilhchianna bu ah gelh ahi. Huan, a sikin a tapa Amazia a lalta hi.
