¹Then came certain of the elders of Israel to me, and sat before me.

¹Huchiin Israel upa khenkhatte ka kiangah a hongpai ua, ka maah a tu ua.

²The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

²Huan TOUPA thu ka kiangah a hongtungta, ka kiangah

³Son of man, these men have taken their idols into their heart, and put the stumbling block of their iniquity before their face: should I be inquired of at all by them?

³Mihing tapa, hiai miten a milimte uh a lungtang uah a la lut ua, a ma uah a thulimlouhna pukna uh a koih uhi; kei hondong ding uh ahi peuhmah ua hia?

⁴Therefore speak to them, and tell them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Every man of the house of Israel who takes his idols into his heart, and puts the stumbling block of his iniquity before his face, and comes to the prophet; I Yahweh will answer him therein according to the multitude of his idols;

⁴Huaijiakin, amau houpih inla, TOUPA PATHIANIN hichiin a chi ahi: Israel inkuana mi chih a lungtang ua milim la luta, a ma ua a thulimlouhna pukna koiha, jawlnei kianga hongpai peuhmah kei TOUPAN a milim uh tamdan bang jelin ka dawng ding;

⁵that I may take the house of Israel in their own heart, because they are all estranged from me through their idols.

⁵Israel innkote a milim uh jiaka honna omtuam san jiak ua a lungtang ua ka mat thehna dingin.

⁶Therefore tell the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Return, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.

⁶Huaijiakin Israel inkote kiangah TOUPA PATHIANIN hichiin a chi ahi: Hong kik unla, na milimte ua kipanin hong kik unla, na kihhuaina tengteng uh lehngatsan un.

⁷For everyone of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who live in Israel, who separates himself from me, and takes his idols into his heart, and puts the stumbling block of his iniquity before his face, and comes to the prophet to inquire for himself of me; I Yahweh will answer him by myself:

⁷Israel innko laka mi kuapeuh hiam, mikhual Israel gama teng tei hiam, keia kipana kihihtuam, a lungtang ua milim la luta, a ma ua thulimlouhna pukna koih kawma, a tung tang ua hondong dinga jawlnei kianga hoh kei TOUPA ngeiin ka dawng mai ding.

⁸and I will set my face against that man, and will make him an astonishment, for a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from the midst of my people; and you shall know that I am Yahweh.

⁸Huai mi ka masuan dinga, mi lamdanga sak dingin khantawn khantawn gen dingin ka mit elaka kipan ka hih mang ding; huchiin kei TOUPAN jawlnei ka khem ahi a, a tungah ka khut ka lik dinga, ka mi Israelte laka kipan ka hihmang ding.

⁹If the prophet is deceived and speak a word, I, Yahweh, have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand on him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.

⁹Huan jawlnei khema omin thu gen henla, kei TOUPAN jawlnei ka khem ahi a, a tungah ka khut ka lik dinga, ka mi Israelte laka kipan ka hihmang ding.

¹⁰They shall bear their iniquity: the iniquity of the prophet shall be even as the iniquity of him who seeks him;

¹⁰Huan a thulimlouhna uh a po ding ua: jawlnei thulimlouhna amah dongmite thulimlouhna bang mai ahi ding.

¹¹that the house of Israel may go no more astray from me, neither defile themselves any more with all their transgressions; but that they may be my people, and I may be their God, says the Lord Yahweh.

¹¹Israel inkote keia kipa a man nawn louh ua, a tatleknate tengteng ua a kihihnit nawn sam louhna ding un, ka mite a hih jawk tak ua a Pathian uh ka hih theihna dingin, TOUPA PATHIANIN a chi ahi, chiin gen in, a chi a.

¹²The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

¹²TOUPA thu ka kiangah a hontunga.

¹³Son of man, when a land sins against me by committing a trespass, and I stretch out my hand on it, and break the staff of its bread, and send famine on it, and cut off from it man and animal;

¹³Mihing tapa, gam miten tatlekna thil hiha, ka tunga thil hihkhiala, ken ka khut ka lika, a en uh, hinna bul ka hihsiata, a tung ua kial ka tunsaka, mi leh sa te ka honhihman leh hiai mi thum,

¹⁴though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, says the Lord Yahweh.

¹⁴Noa, Daniel leh Job te hial leng hongomta bang hileh, a diktatna un amau hinna kia a humbit ding ahi, chih TOUPA PATHIAN thu pawt ahi.

¹⁵If I cause evil animals to pass through the land, and they ravage it, and it be made desolate, so that no man may pass through because of the animals;

¹⁵Gam sahangte a gam uh ka tuan suak saka, gam a hihsiat ua, a hongkigawpa, gam sa jiaka kuamah pai suak ding a om kei uleh

¹⁶though these three men were in it, as I live, says the Lord Yahweh, they should deliver neither sons nor daughters; they only should be delivered, but the land should be desolate.

¹⁶Hiai mi thumte om le uh, a hina ka hin laiteng, chih TOUPA PATHIAN thu pawt ahi, a tanute uh, a tapate uh a humbit tuan kei ding uh: amau kia hotdamin a om ding ua, gam a se gawp ding.

¹⁷Or if I bring a sword on that land, and say, Sword, go through the land; so that I cut off from it man and animal;

¹⁷A hihleh huai gamah namsau ka lik dia, Namsau, gamtang in, chileng mi leh sa ka gawi mang ahi dinga;

¹⁸though these three men were in it, as I live, says the Lord Yahweh, they should deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they only should be delivered themselves.

¹⁸Hiai mi thumte om le uh; a hina ka hin laiteng, chih TOUPA PATHIAN thu pawt ahi a, a tanute uh, a tapate uh a humbit tuan kei ding ua, amau hinna kia humbitin a om ding.

¹⁹Or if I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my wrath on it in blood, to cut off from it man and animal;

¹⁹Ahihleh, huai gamah, hipi ka honlen suaha ka hehna huai gam tunga ka honsun leh:

²⁰though Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, as I live, says the Lord Yahweh, they should deliver neither son nor daughter; they should but deliver their own souls by their righteousness.

²⁰Noa, Daniel leh Job te hial leng na om le uh, a hina ka hin sung teng, chih TOUPA PATHIAN thu pawt ahi, a tanu uhiam, a tapa uhiam a humbit kei ding ua, a diktatna un amau hinna ngei a humbit lel ding.

²¹For thus says the Lord Yahweh: How much more when I send my four severe judgments on Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the evil animals, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and animal!

²¹TOUPA PATHIANIN hichiin a chi ngala: Jerusalem tunga ka vaihawmna na mahmah li, namsaute, kialte, gam sahangte, hipi te, mi leh s agawimang vek dinga ka hontun kim hun chiangin bangchia thupi ahi de aw?

²²Yet, behold, therein shall be left a remnant that shall be carried forth, both sons and daughters: behold, they shall come forth to you, and you shall see their way and their doings; and you shall be comforted concerning the evil that I have brought on Jerusalem, even concerning all that I have brought on it.

²²Himahleh ngai in, huai laia om sun pi khiak dingte nutsiatin a om ding ua, tanute leh tapate leng: ngai un, a kianguah a hongpawt khe ding ua, a omdan uh a thilhihte na mu ding uh, huan Jerusalem tunga thil hoih lou ka hontut thu ah lungmuanin na om ding ua, a tunga ka hontut tengteng thu ah leng.A omdan u leh a thilhihte uh n amuh hun chiang un a honlungmuan ding uh; a tunga ka thilhih tengteng hih san neilouin ka hih kei chih na thei ding uh chih TOUPA PATHIAN thu pawt ahi, chiin.

²³They shall comfort you, when you see their way and their doings; and you shall know that I have not done without cause all that I have done in it, says the Lord Yahweh.
