Isaiah

37

1It happened, when king Hezekiah heard it, that he tore his clothes, covered himself with sackcloth, and went into Yahweh’s house.
1Huan, hichi ahi a, kumpipa Hezekiain huai a jak takin a puansilhte a botkeka, saiip puan a silha, TOUPA inah a lutta.
2He sent Eliakim, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, to Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz.
2Huan, a inkuanpihte tunga heutu-a om Eliakim leh, laigelhmi Shebna leh, siampute upate saiip puan silhin Amoz tapa jawlnei Isai kiangah a sawl hi.
3They said to him, “Thus says Hezekiah, ‘This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and of rejection; for the children have come to the birth, and there is no strength to bring forth.
3Huan, a mau a kiangah, Hezekiain hichiin a chi, Tuni mangbatna leh muhsitna ni ahi; naupangte lah a pian hun uh a hita ngala, amau piangsak dingin hatna lah a om nawn ngal keia.
4It may be Yahweh your God will hear the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master has sent to defy the living God, and will rebuke the words which Yahweh your God has heard. Therefore lift up your prayer for the remnant that is left.’”
4Rabsakeh a pu Assuria kumpipan Pathian hing gense dinga a sawl thu gente, TOUPA na Pathianin a bilin a za lai ahi kha ding, huchiin a thu gen, TOUPA na Pathian in a biala, a jakte ah, a honsal ding hi; huaijiakin a om sunte adingin na thumna lan tou in, a chi hi, a chi ua.
5So the servants of king Hezekiah came to Isaiah.
5Huchiin kumpipa Hezekia sikhate Isai kiangah a hongpai uh.
6Isaiah said to them, “Tell your master, ‘Thus says Yahweh, “Don’t be afraid of the words that you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.
6Huan, Isaiin a kiang uah, Na pu kiang uah hichiin na chi ding uh ahi, TOUPAN hichiin a chi, Na thu jak, Assuria kumpipa sikhaten a hon-gensiatnate uh, kihta ken.
7Behold, I will put a spirit in him and he will hear news, and will return to his own land. I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.”’”
7Ngaiin, a sungah kha banghiam ka omsak dinga, huchiin thuthang a za dinga, amah gamah a kik nawn ding; huchiin amah gam ngeiah namsaua puksakin ka omsak ding, a chi hi, chiin, a chi a.
8So Rabshakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah, for he had heard that he was departed from Lachish.
8Huchiin Rabsakeh a kik nawna, Assuria kumpipan Libnah khua akipan a pai kheta chih a thei khin ngala.
9He heard news concerning Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, “He has come out to fight against you.” When he heard it, he sent messengers to Hezekiah, saying,
9Huan, Assuria kumpipa Sennakeribin Tirhak Ethiopia gam kumpipa tungthu, Nang honsim dingin a pawtta, chiin mi gen a ja. Huchiin huai a jak takin Hezekia kiangah Palaite a sawla.
10“Thus you shall speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, ‘Don’t let your God in whom you trust deceive you, saying, “Jerusalem won’t be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.”
10Hichiin Judate kumpipa Hezekia kiangah na chi ding uh ahi, Na muan Pathianin, Jerusalem khua Assuria kumpipa khutah piak ahi kei ding, chiin, hon khem kei hen.
11Behold, you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, by destroying them utterly. Shall you be delivered?
11Ngaiin, Assuria kumpipaten gam tengteng suse vekin a tung ua a thilhihte uh nabilin na ja hi, huchiin nang penpen humbitin na om tuam ding hiam?
12Have the gods of the nations delivered them, which my fathers have destroyed, Gozan, Haran, Rezeph, and the children of Eden who were in Telassar?
12Nam chih pathianten, Gozante, Harante, Resephte, Eden ta Telassar khuaa om te, ka pipute sukmante, a humbit ua hia.
13Where is the king of Hamath, and the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, of Hena, and Ivvah?’”
13Hamath kumpipa te, Ivvah kumpipa te koia om a hita ua? chiin, a chi a.
14Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers and read it. Then Hezekiah went up to Yahweh’s house, and spread it before Yahweh.
14Huan Hezekiain palaite khuta kipanin lai a mu a, a sima, huchiin Hezekia TOUPA inah a va luta, TOUPA maah a phata hi.
15Hezekiah prayed to Yahweh, saying,
15Huan, Hezekia TOUPA kiang ah a thuma.
16“Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, who is enthroned among the cherubim, you are the God, even you alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth.
17Turn your ear, Yahweh, and hear. Open your eyes, Yahweh, and behold. Hear all of the words of Sennacherib, who has sent to defy the living God.
18Truly, Yahweh, the kings of Assyria have destroyed all the countries and their land,
18TOUPA, Assuria kumpipaten gam tengteng leh a lei uh a hihse ngei ngut ua, a pathiante uleng meiah a pai ua.
19and have cast their gods into the fire; for they were no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone; therefore they have destroyed them.
19Huaite jaw Pathian ahi kei him ua, mihing khuta bawl sing leh suang, a hijaw uh; huaijiakin a hihmang uhi.
20Now therefore, Yahweh our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you are Yahweh, even you only.”
21Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, “Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, ‘Because you have prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria,
21Huai laiin Amoz tapa Isaiin Hezekia kiangah mi a sawla, hichiin a chi a, TOUPA Israelte Pathianin hichiin a chi hi, Assuria kumpipa Sennakerib siatna ding nangawna ka kianga na thum jiakin hiai a tungtang thu TOUPAN a gen ahi hi;
22this is the word which Yahweh has spoken concerning him. The virgin daughter of Zion has despised you and ridiculed you. The daughter of Jerusalem has shaken her head at you.
22Zion tanu nungakin a honmusita, a honnuih san hi; Jerusalem tanuin a lu a honsin khum.
23Whom have you defied and blasphemed? Against whom have you exalted your voice and lifted up your eyes on high? Against the Holy One of Israel.
23Kua ahi maia na minsiatsakna gensiat? kua tungah ahia na aw na puamsaka, na mit na sansak? Israelte Mi Siangthou tungah ngei.
24By your servants, have you defied the Lord, and have said, “With the multitude of my chariots I have come up to the height of the mountains, to the innermost parts of Lebanon. I will cut down its tall cedars and its choice fir trees. I will enter into its farthest height, the forest of its fruitful field.
24Na sikhate zangin TOUPa na min sesaka, Ka kangtalai tampi toh tangsang sanna, LEbanon gam gil khawngah ka hontungtou ta hi; a sidar sing sang takte leh a meilah sing hoih te ka phuk ding; A mun sang pen, a lei hoihna gammangah ka lut ding.
25I have dug and drunk water, and with the sole of my feet I will dry up all the rivers of Egypt.”
26Have you not heard how I have done it long ago, and formed it in ancient times? Now I have brought it to pass, that it should be yours to destroy fortified cities, turning them into ruinous heaps.
27Therefore their inhabitants had little power. They were dismayed and confounded. They were like the grass of the field, and like the green herb, like the grass on the housetops, and like a field before its crop has grown.
27Huaijiakin a sunga omte a hat lo kei ua, a lau ua, a zahlak uhi; pawn loupa bang lel leh, koupa hing bang lel, intungloupa hing bang lel, intungloupa bang leh, lou buh hoih ma bang lel ahi uh.
28But I know your sitting down, your going out, your coming in, and your raging against me.
29Because of your raging against me, and because your arrogance has come up into my ears, therefore will I put my hook in your nose and my bridle in your lips, and I will turn you back by the way by which you came.
30This shall be the sign to you. You will eat this year that which grows of itself, and in the second year that which springs from the same; and in the third year sow and reap and plant vineyards, and eat their fruit.
30Huan, hiai pen nang adinga chiamtehna ding ahi ding; tukumin buh sang na sen ding ua; kum nawnin leng huai buh sang mah na sen ding uh; huan, a kum thumna ah buh tuh unla, at unla, grep huante bawl unla, a gah ne un.
31The remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah will again take root downward, and bear fruit upward.
31Huan, Juda inkuampihte laka dam sunte bel a suklama zungkaia, a tou lama gahin a om nawn ding.
32For out of Jerusalem a remnant will go forth, and survivors will escape from Mount Zion. The zeal of Yahweh of Armies will perform this.’
32A om sunte Jerusalem akipanina pawt ding ua, dam lai dingte Zion tang akipanin a pawt ding uh; sepaihte TOUPA phatuamngaihnain huaite a hih ding hi.
33Therefore thus says Yahweh concerning the king of Assyria, ‘He will not come to this city, nor shoot an arrow there, neither will he come before it with shield, nor cast up a mound against it.
33Huaijiakin TOUPAN Assuria kumpipa tungtang thu-ah hichiin a chi, Amah hiai khopi a hongtung kei dinga, hiailaiah a thal leng a kap sam kei dinga, lum toh a kiangah leng a hongpai sam kei ding, a simna dingin lah lei kulh a bawl sam kei ding.
34By the way that he came, by the same he shall return, and he shall not come to this city,’ says Yahweh.
34A hongpaina lampi-ah huai mahah a hongkik nawn dinga, hiai khopi a hongtung kei ding, TOUPAN a chi.
35‘For I will defend this city to save it, for my own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.’”
35Kei jiak leh ka sikha David jiakin hiai khopi humbit dingin ka hum ding hi, chiin, a chi a.
36The angel of Yahweh went out and struck one hundred and eighty-five thousand men in the camp of the Assyrians. When men arose early in the morning, behold, these were all dead bodies.
36Huchiin TOUPA angel a vapawta, Assuriate giahmunah mi nuai khat leh sing giat leh sang nga a sisak a; huan, jing khanga mi a thoh u leh, ngaiin, misi luang ngen a nahi hi.
37So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, went away, returned to Nineveh, and stayed there.
37Huchiin, Assuria kumpipa Sannakerib a pawta, a paia, a kik peka, Ninevi khuaah a om nilouh hi.Huan, hichi ahi a, a pathian Nisrok inah pathian a biak laiin a tapa Adrammelek leh Sarezer ten namsauin a sat lum ua; huchiin a tai mang ua, Ararat gamah a lut uh. Huan, a tapa Esarhaddonin a sikin vai a hawm hi.
38It happened, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons struck him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Ararat. Esar Haddon his son reigned in his place.
38Huan, hichi ahi a, a pathian Nisrok inah pathian a biak laiin a tapa Adrammelek leh Sarezer ten namsauin a sat lum ua; huchiin a tai mang ua, Ararat gamah a lut uh. Huan, a tapa Esarhaddonin a sikin vai a hawm hi.
