1Hear the word which Yahweh speaks to you, house of Israel!
1Aw, Israel inkote aw, na kiang ua TOUPA thu gen ngaikhia un,
2Thus says Yahweh, “Don’t learn the way of the nations, and don’t be dismayed at the signs of the sky; for the nations are dismayed at them.
2TOUPAN hichiin a chi: Namte omdan ching kei unla, vana chiamtehnate jiakin leng lunglau sam kei un; namte lah huaite ah a lunglau sek nak ua.
3For the customs of the peoples are vanity; for one cuts a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman with the axe.
3Mite dante lah bangmahlou lel ahi ngala, Gamnuai ah sing a phuk ua, heipia mi khutsiam khutin asep ahi.
4They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it not move.
4Dangkasik leh dangkaengin a jem ua, a tat louhna dingin sikkilhna leh sekin a kilh uh.
5They are like a palm tree, of turned work, and don’t speak: they must be carried, because they can’t go. Don’t be afraid of them; for they can’t do evil, neither is it in them to do good.”
5Leipia vasa lau ding milim bang ahi ua, a pau theikei uh. Amau a pai theihlouh jiak un, puak suan a kiphamoh sek uh; amaute lau kei un, thil sia a hih theikei ua, thil hoih leng a hih thei sam kei uh.
6There is none like you, Yahweh; you are great, and your name is great in might.
6Aw TOUPA, nang bang kuamah a om kei ua, na thupi-a, na min hatnain a thang lian hi.
7Who should not fear you, King of the nations? For it appertains to you; because among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their royal estate, there is none like you.
7Aw namte kumpipa, kuan ahia honkihta lou ding? huailah na tuakzou him ngala. Namte mi pil tengteng lakahte, a gam himhim lak uah leng, nang bang mahmah a om kei uh.
8But they are together brutish and foolish: the instruction of idols! it is but a stock.
8Amau jaw mi mawl leh mi hai ahi ua, milim sinsakna bel sing lel ahi.
9There is silver beaten into plates, which is brought from Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz, the work of the artificer and of the hands of the goldsmith; blue and purple for their clothing; they are all the work of skillful men.
9Tarsis a kipan dangkasik sek a honla ua, Uphaz a kipan dangkaeng leng, mi khutsiam bawl, dangkaeng sekmi khutsuak, a puansilh uah dumbuang leh sandup, mi khutsiam khutsuak vek ahi uhi.
10But Yahweh is the true God; he is the living God, and an everlasting King: at his wrath the earth trembles, and the nations are not able to withstand his indignation.
10TOUPA bel Pathian tak ahi, Pathian hing khantawn Kumpipa ahi hi, a hehin lei a linga, namten a hehna a nangzou kei uh.
11You shall say this to them: The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, these shall perish from the earth, and from under the heavens.
11A kiang ua hichibanga na chih ding uh ahi: Pathiante, lei leh van bawlte hi loupi lei a kipan a mangthang ding ua, vannuai a kipan a mang vek ding uh.
12He has made the earth by his power, he has established the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding has he stretched out the heavens:
12A thilhihtheihnain lei a bawla, a pilnain khovel a tungdinga, a lemtheihnain van a kaipalh hi.
13when he utters his voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, and he causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; he makes lightnings for the rain, and brings forth the wind out of his treasuries.
13A aw a suah leh, van ah tui a ging honhona, kawlmong a kipan meipi a kahtousaka, vuah zukna dingin khua a phesaka, a goubawm a kipan huih a nungsak hi.
14Every man has become brutish and without knowledge; every goldsmith is disappointed by his engraved image; for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.
14Mi chih a mawl ua, theihna a neikei uh, dangkaeng sekmiin leng a lim sek a zumpiha, a milim sun lah juau lel ahi ngala, amau ah hu leng a om kei hi.
15They are vanity, a work of delusion: in the time of their visitation they shall perish.
15Bangmahlou lel ahi ua, khemna nasep lel, a gawtna uh hun chiangin a mang mai ding uh.
16The portion of Jacob is not like these; for he is the former of all things; and Israel is the tribe of his inheritance: Yahweh of Armies is his name.
16Jakob tantuan bel hichibang ahi kei, thil tengteng bul ahi ngala; Israel a gouluah nam ahia, a min sepaihte TOUPA ahi.
17Gather up your wares out of the land, you who live under siege.
17Aw nang, uma om lellelin, na puanthuah lei a kipan la khawmin,
18For thus says Yahweh, Behold, I will sling out the inhabitants of the land at this time, and will distress them, that they may feel it.
18TOUPAN hichiin a chi ahi: Ngai un, tuin gam a tengte ka singkhe ding, a phawk thamun ka hihgenthei ding.
19Woe is me because of my hurt! my wound is grievous: but I said, Truly this is my grief, and I must bear it.
19Ka natna jiakin ka tung a gik hi, ka liamna a na a, himahleh, Hiai hial haksatna ahi, ka thuak mai ding ahi, ka chi.
20My tent is destroyed, and all my cords are broken: my children are gone forth from me, and they are no more: there is none to spread my tent any more, and to set up my curtains.
20Ka puanin a seta, ka khau tengteng a kitat veka, ka kianga kipan ka tate a pawt ua, a om nawn kei uh: Ka puanin jak ding a omta kei uh, ka puanjak tungding dingte.
21For the shepherds are become brutish, and have not inquired of Yahweh: therefore they have not prospered, and all their flocks are scattered.
21Belam chingmite a mawl ua, TOUPA a thudot nadan a theikei uh; huaijiakin a lamzang kei ua, a belam honte uh a dalhjak khinta.
22The voice of news, behold, it comes, and a great commotion out of the north country, to make the cities of Judah a desolation, a dwelling place of jackals.
22Ngai un, husa a hongtung, mallam a kipan buaina thupi mahmah, Juda khopite hihgawpin, sehal tenna dinga suaksak dingin.
23Yahweh, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man who walks to direct his steps.
23Aw TOUPA, mihing omdan bel, amah thu lel ahi kei chih ka theita hi: a tunga pai mihing ah, a pheikhai pi ding a om kei hi.
24Yahweh, correct me, but in measure: not in your anger, lest you bring me to nothing.
24Aw TOUPA, honthunun inla, a hun lelin, heh louin, huchilouin jaw na honhihmang kha ding hi.Pautuam mi, nang thei ngeiloute tungah leh, na min lou ngeiloute tungah na hehna bungkhiain; Jakob a nekhin ua, ahi, a nekhin ua, a ne mang ua, a tenna gam a hihsia uhi.
25Pour out your wrath on the nations that don’t know you, and on the families that don’t call on your name: for they have devoured Jacob, yes, they have devoured him and consumed him, and have laid waste his habitation.
25Pautuam mi, nang thei ngeiloute tungah leh, na min lou ngeiloute tungah na hehna bungkhiain; Jakob a nekhin ua, ahi, a nekhin ua, a ne mang ua, a tenna gam a hihsia uhi.
