¹The word which came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, when king Zedekiah sent to him Pashhur the son of Malchijah, and Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah, the priest, saying,

¹Kumpipa Zedekia in Malkija tapa Pashur leh siampu Maasei tapa Zehpania Jeremia kianga a sawl laia Jeremia kianga TOUPA akipana thu hongtung,

²Please inquire of Yahweh for us; for Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon makes war against us: perhaps Yahweh will deal with us according to all his wondrous works, that he may go up from us.

²Babulon kumpipa Nebukadnezzarin lah a hondouta ngala, TOUPAN a thilhih thupi tak a hihsek bangin a honhuh nuamin, a kik nawn sak mai kha diam chih TOUPA hondot sak dih ve, chiin.

³Then Jeremiah said to them, You shall tell Zedekiah:

³Huan Jeremiain a kiang uah, Zedekia kiangah hichibangin vagen un: Israelte Pathian, TOUPAN hichiin a chi:

⁴Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands, with which you fight against the king of Babylon, and against the Chaldeans who besiege you, without the walls; and I will gather them into the midst of this city.

⁴Ngai in, Babulon kumpipa leh Kaldai mi, kulh puaa nang honumpa na douna galvan zat ka kiksak sin ahi; huan, hiai khopi sungah amau ka pi khawm ding.

⁵I myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and with a strong arm, even in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation.

⁵Keimah mahin leng heh leh lungkimlou mahmah leh thangpai takin ban jakin ban tha hat zangin nang ka hondou ding.

⁶I will strike the inhabitants of this city, both man and animal: they shall die of a great pestilence.

⁶Hiai khua a teng mihingte leh gante ka hihlum dinga, hipiin a si ding uh.

⁷Afterward, says Yahweh, I will deliver Zedekiah king of Judah, and his servants, and the people, even such as are left in this city from the pestilence, from the sword, and from the famine, into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those who seek their life: and he shall strike them with the edge of the sword; he shall not spare them, neither have pity, nor have mercy.

⁷Huai nungin, TOUPA thu pawtin a chi, kumpipa Zedekia leh a nungjuite leh mi dang hiai khuaa hi leh namsau leh kiala si loute, Babulon kimpipa leh a melmate uh khut ah leh amau that tummite khut ah ka pe ding. Namsau hiamin a that dinga, a hehpih het kei dinga, a hawi het kei ding, a lainat sam kei ding.

⁸To this people you shall say, Thus says Yahweh: Behold, I set before you the way of life and the way of death.

⁸Huan hiai mipite kiangah hichiin vagenin: TOUPAN hichiin a chi: Ngai un, sihna lampi leh hinna lampi ka honkoih saka.

⁹He who remains in this city shall die by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence; but he who goes out, and passes over to the Chaldeans who besiege you, he shall live, and his life shall be to him for a prey.

⁹Hiai khopi sunga om namsauin hiam kialin hiam hiin hiam a si ding uh; Kaldai mite nou honumpa kianga pawta kipiate bel a hing ding uh, a hinna uh kidouna kipahman ahi ding hi.

¹⁰For I have set my face on this city for evil, and not for good, says Yahweh: it shall be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.

¹⁰Hiai khopi hoihna ding hi lou, a siatna ding ka tum bilbel ahi; Babulon kumpipa khuta piak ahi dinga, aman meiin a hal ding, chih TOUPA thu pawt ahi.

¹¹Touching the house of the king of Judah, hear the word of Yahweh:

¹¹Juda kumpipa inkote tungtang thu ah; TOUPA thu ngaikhia un,

¹²House of David, thus says Yahweh, Execute justice in the morning, and deliver him who is robbed out of the hand of the oppressor, lest my wrath go forth like fire, and burn so that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

¹²Aw David inkote aw! TOUPAN hichiin a chi: Jingsangin vai dik takin hawm unla, simmohmi khut akipan loh thuakmi hun khia unla, huchilouin jaw ka hehna mei bangin a pawt dinga, kuamah phelh vual louh dingin a kang dia, na thil hihgiloute uh jiakin.

¹³Behold, I am against you, O inhabitant of the valley, and of the rock of the plain, says Yahweh; you that say, Who shall come down against us? or who shall enter into our habitations?

¹³Ngaidih ua, guam janga tengte aw, nou guam jang suangpia tenga, Kuate ahia i omna ua honglut ding? chite aw, nou ka honlang ding hi. TOUPA thu pawtin a chi.Na thilhih uh gah bang jelin ka hon gawt dinga, a gam gammang ah mei ka khah dinga, a kim tengteng a kangmang ding, TOUPA thu pawtin a chi.

¹⁴I will punish you according to the fruit of your doings, says Yahweh; and I will kindle a fire in her forest, and it shall devour all that is around her.

¹⁴Na thilhih uh gah bang jelin ka hon gawt dinga, a gam gammang ah mei ka khah dinga, a kim tengteng a kangmang ding, TOUPA thu pawtin a chi.
