¹In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, came this word to Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying,

¹Juda Kumpipa Josia tapa Zekedia lal pattungin, TOUPA kiang akipanin hiai thu a hongtung.

²Thus says Yahweh to me: Make bonds and bars, and put them on your neck;

²TOUPAN ka kiangah hichiin a chi: Hakkolte leh a khaute bawl inla, na ngaawng ah bangin.

³and send them to the king of Edom, and to the king of Moab, and to the king of the children of Ammon, and to the king of Tyre, and to the king of Sidon, by the hand of the messengers who come to Jerusalem to Zedekiah king of Judah;

³Huan, Edom kumpipa te, Moab kumpipa te, Amon mite kumpipa te, Tura kumpipa te, Sidon kumpipa te kiangah Juda kumpipa Zedekia kianga mi sawl, Jerusalema hongpaite khut ah khakin.

⁴and give them a command to their masters, saying, Thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, You shall tell your masters:

⁵I have made the earth, the men and the animals that are on the surface of the earth, by my great power and by my outstretched arm; and I give it to whom it seems right to me.

⁵Ka thilhihtheihna thupi tak leh ka ban jakin lei te, mihing te leh leitunga sate ka bawl veka, piak tuak ka chihte kiangah ka pia.

⁶Now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and the animals of the field also have I given him to serve him.

⁶Tuin leng ka nasempa Babulon kumpipa Nebukadnezzar khut ah hiai gam tengteng ka pe khinta hi, gamsate leng amah nasem dingin ka pelai hi.

⁷All the nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son’s son, until the time of his own land come: and then many nations and great kings shall make him their bondservant.

⁷Amah gam hun tak a tun main nam tengtengin amah leh a tapate leh a tapa tate na a sem ding ua, huai nungin bel nam tempite leh kumpipa thupi mahmahten amah sikha din a bawl ding uh.

⁸It shall happen, that the nation and the kingdom which will not serve the same Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation will I punish, says Yahweh, with the sword, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand.

⁸Huan, hiai ahi dinga, Babulon kumpipa Nebukadnezzar hakkol po nuam lou leh a na sem nuam lou nam leh lalna gam namsau leh kial leh hipi amah khuta ka hihman vek masiah amau ka gawt jel ding.

⁹But as for you, don’t you listen to your prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your dreams, nor to your soothsayers, nor to your sorcerers, who speak to you, saying, You shall not serve the king of Babylon:

⁹Nouten a hileh na jawlneite uh, na aisansiamte uh; na mang te uh, na bumsiamte uh, na kiang ua, Babulon kumpipa na na sem kei ding uh, chia genmite ngaikhe kei un.

¹⁰for they prophesy a lie to you, to remove you far from your land, and that I should drive you out, and you should perish.

¹⁰Na gam ua kipana gamla pia pi manga na om theihna ding un, na kiang uah juau thu a gen khol uh ahi: ka hondelh khiaka na man that na ding un.

¹¹But the nation that shall bring their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him, that nation will I let remain in their own land, says Yahweh; and they shall till it, and dwell therein.

¹¹Ahihhangin Babulon kimpipa hakkol puaa, na sem nuam nam bel a gam ngei uah ka omsak dinga, lei a let ding uh, huailaiah a teng gige ding uh, chih TOUPA thu pawt ahi.

¹²I spoke to Zedekiah king of Judah according to all these words, saying, Bring your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him and his people, and live.

¹²Huan, Juda kumpipa Zedekia kiangah hiai thu tengteng bang jelin ka gena: Babulon kumpipa hakkol pua unla, amah leh a mite nasem unla, na hing ding uhi.

¹³Why will you die, you and your people, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, as Yahweh has spoken concerning the nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?

¹³Babulon kumpipa nasem nuam lou nam tungtang TOUPAN a gensa bangin bangdia namsaute, kialte, hipitea nang leh na mite si ding na hi ua?

¹⁴Don’t listen to the words of the prophets who speak to you, saying, You shall not serve the king of Babylon; for they prophesy a lie to you.

¹⁴Huan, jawlnei na kiang ua, Babulon kumpipa na sem kei un, chite thu ngaikhe kei un; na kiang uah juau thu a gen lel uh ahi ngala.

¹⁵For I have not sent them, says Yahweh, but they prophesy falsely in my name; that I may drive you out, and that you may perish, you, and the prophets who prophesy to you.

¹⁵Ka sawl lah ahi ngal kai ua, ka min sialin juau thu a gen nak ua, nou leh na kiang ua thu gen jawlneite ka delhkhiaa, na manthat theihna ding un TOUPAN a chi.

¹⁶Also I spoke to the priests and to all this people, saying, Thus says Yahweh: Don’t listen to the words of your prophets who prophesy to you, saying, Behold, the vessels of Yahweh’s house shall now shortly be brought again from Babylon; for they prophesy a lie to you.

¹⁶Siampute leh hiai mipite tengteng kiangah leng ka gen sama: TOUPAN hichiin a chi ahi: Jawlnei na kiang ua thu gen, Ngai un, TOUPA ina belsuante Babulon akipanin hontut ahi pah ding hi, chimite thu ngaikhe kei un, na kiang uah juau a gen uh ahi ngala.

¹⁷Don’t listen to them; serve the king of Babylon, and live: why should this city become a desolation?

¹⁷Amaute ngaikhe het kei un; Babulon kumpipa na sem unla, na hing ding uhi; bangdin hiai khopi a segawp dia?

¹⁸But if they be prophets, and if the word of Yahweh be with them, let them now make intercession to Yahweh of Armies, that the vessels which are left in the house of Yahweh, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, don’t go to Babylon.

¹⁸Himahleh jawlnei a hih ua, TOUPA thu a kiang ua om etmah ahihleh TOUPA in leh Juda kumpipa in leh Jerusalema belsuan nutsiata om laite Babulona tut ahih louhna dingin sepaihte TOUPA kiangah ngen le uh ake.

¹⁹For thus says Yahweh of Armies concerning the pillars, and concerning the sea, and concerning the bases, and concerning the residue of the vessels that are left in this city,

¹⁹Sepaihte TOUPAN, khuam sangte, dal tuipangte, kingaknate leh hiai khopi a belsuan nutsiata om sunte,

²⁰which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon didn’t take, when he carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, from Jerusalem to Babylon, and all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem;

²⁰Babulon kumpipa Nebukadnezzarin Juda kumpipa Jehoiakim tapa, Jekonia leh Juda leh Jerusalem a mi hoih tengteng Jerusalem akipana Babulon sala dia a pi laia a lak val tungtang thu hichiin a gen hi,

²¹yes, thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, concerning the vessels that are left in the house of Yahweh, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem:

²¹Ahi, sepaihte TOUPA, Israel Pathianin TOUPA in leh Juda kumpipa in leh Jerusalema belsuan nutsiata om lai tungtang thu a gen ahi:Babulon ah lak mang ahi ding ua, amaute ka hongveh masiah huailaiah a om nilouh ding uh; huan, amau ka la tou nawn dinga, hiai munah ka koih nawn dinga, chih TOUPA thu thu pawt ahi.

²²They shall be carried to Babylon, and there shall they be, until the day that I visit them, says Yahweh; then will I bring them up, and restore them to this place.

²²Babulon ah lak mang ahi ding ua, amaute ka hongveh masiah huailaiah a om nilouh ding uh; huan, amau ka la tou nawn dinga, hiai munah ka koih nawn dinga, chih TOUPA thu thu pawt ahi.
