¹It happened in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, that this word came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying,

¹Huan, hichi ahia, Juda kumpipa Josia tapa Jehoiakim lal kum lina ah hiai thu TOUPA kiang akipan Jeremia kiangah a hongtunga:

²Take a scroll of a book, and write therein all the words that I have spoken to you against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spoke to you, from the days of Josiah, even to this day.

²Laibu jial la inla, hiaiah na kianga thu ka gen tengteng, Israel tungthu te, Juda tungthu te, nam tengteng tungthu te, na kianga thu ka gen ni akipan Josia hunlai akipan tuni phaa thu gelh in

³It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do to them; that they may return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.

³Juda inkoten a tung ua thil hoihlou hih ka tup tengteng, a ngaikhia un mi chihin a omdan gilou uh a hei thei kha moh kei ding ua, a thulimilouhna uh leh a khelhna uh ka ngaidam theihna dingin a chi a.

⁴Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah; and Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of Yahweh, which he had spoken to him, on a scroll of a book.

⁴Huan, Jeremiain Neria tapa Baruk a sama, huan, Barukin TOUPA thu tengteng, a kianga a nagensa Jeremia paukam akipan laibu jial ah a gelha.

⁵Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, I am shut up; I can’t go into the house of Yahweh:

⁵Huan, Jeremiain Baruk kiangah, Khakkhum ka hia, TOUPA in ah ka hoh theikeia,

⁶therefore you go, and read in the scroll, which you have written from my mouth, the words of Yahweh in the ears of the people in Yahweh’s house on the fast day; and also you shall read them in the ears of all Judah who come out of their cities.

⁶Huaijiakin nang hoh inla, TOUPA thu ka paukam akipan laibu jial a na gelh anngawl niin, TOUPA ina mipite bila jakin vasim khia in; a khopi ua kipana hongpawt Judate tengteng bil jakin leng na simkhiak ding ahi.

⁷It may be they will present their supplication before Yahweh, and will return everyone from his evil way; for great is the anger and the wrath that Yahweh has pronounced against this people.

⁷Michiin a omdan gilou uh a hei un, TOUPA maa hehpihna a ngetna uh a tun thei zenzen kha ding ua, hiai mite tunga hehna leh thangpaihna TOUPAN a genkhiak lah a thupi mahmah ngala, chiin thu a pia hi.

⁸Baruch the son of Neriah did according to all that Jeremiah the prophet commanded him, reading in the book the words of Yahweh in Yahweh’s house.

⁸Huchiin Neria tapa Barukin jawlnei Jeremia thupiak tengteng bangin TOUPA ina TOUPA thu laibu a om a simta hi.

⁹Now it happened in the fifth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, in the ninth month, that all the people in Jerusalem, and all the people who came from the cities of Judah to Jerusalem, proclaimed a fast before Yahweh.

⁹Huan, hichi ahia, Juda kumpipa Josia tapa Jehoiakim lal kum ngana, kha kuana ah Jerusalem mi tengteng leh Juda khopi akipana Jerusalem ahongpai tengtengin anngawl thu a phuang ta uh.

¹⁰Then read Baruch in the book the words of Jeremiah in the house of Yahweh, in the room of Gemariah the son of Shaphan, the scribe, in the upper court, at the entry of the new gate of Yahweh’s house, in the ears of all the people.

¹⁰Huan, Barukin TOUPA konpi thak lutna ah, um sung tungnung jaw a laigelhmi Shaphan tapa Gemari dantan, TOUPA ina om ah Jeremia thu laibu a im, mi tengteng bila jakin a sim a.

¹¹When Micaiah the son of Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, had heard out of the book all the words of Yahweh,

¹¹Huan, Shapan tapa Gemari tapa Mikaiin laibu a om TOUPA thu tengteng a najakin,

¹²he went down into the king’s house, into the scribe’s room: and behold, all the princes were sitting there, Elishama the scribe, and Delaiah the son of Shemaiah, and Elnathan the son of Achbor, and Gemariah the son of Shaphan, and Zedekiah the son of Hananiah, and all the princes.

¹²Kumpipa in ah a hoh suka, laigelhmi dantan ah a luta, huan, ngaidih, huailaiah heutu tengteng a natu ua, laigelhmi Elisham te, Semaia tapa Delai te, Akbor tapa Elnathan te, Shaphan tapa Gemari te, Hanani tapa Zedekia te leh heutu tengteng.

¹³Then Micaiah declared to them all the words that he had heard, when Baruch read the book in the ears of the people.

¹³Huan, Mikaiin mite bila jakin Barukin laibu a im a sim thu a najak tengteng a hilha.

¹⁴Therefore all the princes sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, to Baruch, saying, Take in your hand the scroll in which you have read in the ears of the people, and come. So Baruch the son of Neriah took the scroll in his hand, and came to them.

¹⁴Huan, heutu tengtengin Kusi tapa, Shelemi tapa Nethani tapa Jerhudi Baruk kiangah a sawl ua, a kiangah, Mite bila jaka nasim laibu tawiin hongin, chi dingin. Hichiin Neri tapa Baruk bel laibu jial tawinin a kiang uah a honga.

¹⁵They said to him, Sit down now, and read it in our ears. So Baruch read it in their ears.

¹⁵Huan a kiangah, Tu inla, ka bil ua ka jak ngei un sim dih ve leh, a chi ua, hunchiin Barukin a bil ua a jak un a simta.

¹⁶Now it happened, when they had heard all the words, they turned in fear one toward another, and said to Baruch, We will surely tell the king of all these words.

¹⁶Huan, hichi ahia, huai thute a jak uleh lauin a kien chiat ua, Baruk kiangah, Hiai thi tengteng kumpipa ka hilh ngeingei ding uh, a chi ua.

¹⁷They asked Baruch, saying, Tell us now, How did you write all these words at his mouth?

¹⁷Huan, Baruk bel, Hiai thu tengteng na kam akipan bangchi dana gelh na hia, honhilh dih ve? Chiin a dong ua.

¹⁸Then Baruch answered them, He pronounced all these words to me with his mouth, and I wrote them with ink in the book.

¹⁸Huan, Barukin, Hiai thu tengteng a paukamin a honhilha, laituiin laibu ah ka gelh mai ahi, chiin a dawng hi.

¹⁹Then the princes said to Baruch, Go, hide, you and Jeremiah; and let no man know where you are.

¹⁹Huan, heututen Baruk kiangah, Kuan unla, Jeremia toh bu un; kuamah in na omna uh theikei uhen, a chi ua.

²⁰They went in to the king into the court; but they had laid up the scroll in the room of Elishama the scribe; and they told all the words in the ears of the king.

²⁰Huan, huang sungah kumpipa kiangah a lut ua; leibu jial bel laigelhmi Elisham dantan ah a koih ua; laibu jial bel laidelhmi Elisham dantan ah a koih ua, a thu tengteng paukamin kumpipa a hilh uh.

²¹So the king sent Jehudi to get the scroll; and he took it out of the room of Elishama the scribe. Jehudi read it in the ears of the king, and in the ears of all the princes who stood beside the king.

²¹Huchiin kumpipan laibu jial la dingin Jehudi a sawla, laigelhmi Elisham dantan akipan a la. Huan, Jehudiin kupipa leh kumpipa china ding heutu tengteng bila jakin a sima.

²²Now the king was sitting in the winter house in the ninth month: and there was a fire in the brazier burning before him.

²²Kha kuana ahia, kumpipa bel a phalbi in ah a tu a, a maah meihol thukah kuang a oma.

²³It happened, when Jehudi had read three or four leaves, that the king cut it with the penknife, and cast it into the fire that was in the brazier, until all the scroll was consumed in the fire that was in the brazier.

²³Huan, hichi a honghia, Jehudiin khep thum hiam khep li hiam a simin kumpipain a temta in a at tana, thuk meia ah a jial bu pum kang mang vek dingin a lawn lut zel hi.

²⁴They were not afraid, nor tore their garments, neither the king, nor any of his servants who heard all these words.

²⁴Huan, kumpipa leh a nasemmin hiai thu tengteng ngaikhia mite kuamah a lau kei ua, a puansilh uh leng a botkek sam kei uh.

²⁵Moreover Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah had made intercession to the king that he would not burn the scroll; but he would not hear them.

²⁵Huai phet hilouin Elnathan leh Delai leh Gemari ten laibu jial hal lou dingin kumpipa kiangah a ngen ua, himahleh a ngaikhe nuam kei.

²⁶The king commanded Jerahmeel the king’s son, and Seraiah the son of Azriel, and Shelemiah the son of Abdeel, to take Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet; but Yahweh hid them.

²⁶Huan, kumpipan kumpipa tapa Jerahmeel leh Azriel tapa Serai leh Abdeel tapa Shelami te Baruk laigelhmi leh jawlnei Jeremiate man dingin thu a pia: himahleh TOUPAN amau a sel.

²⁷Then the word of Yahweh came to Jeremiah, after that the king had burned the scroll, and the words which Baruch wrote at the mouth of Jeremiah, saying,

²⁷Huan, laibu jial leh Jeremia kam akipan Barukin a gelh tengteng thute kumpipan a halmang khitin TOUPA thu Jeremia kiangah a hongtunga,

²⁸Take again another scroll, and write in it all the former words that were in the first scroll, which Jehoiakim the king of Judah has burned.

²⁸Laibu jial dang la inla, laibu jial masaa thu tengteng, Juda kumpipa Jehoiakimin a hal mangsate gelh nawn vekin.

²⁹Concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah you shall say, Thus says Yahweh: You have burned this scroll, saying, Why have you written therein, saying, The king of Babylon shall certainly come and destroy this land, and shall cause to cease from there man and animal?

²⁹Huan, Juda kumpipa Jehoiakim tuntang thu ah hichiin na chi ding hi: TOUPAN hichiin a chi: Babulon kumpipa hongpai ngei dinga, hiai gam a hihsiain, hiai mi leh sa a hihmang vek ding, chia gelhna bangdia huchibang thu gelh, chiin laibu na nahaltaa:

³⁰Therefore thus says Yahweh concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah: He shall have none to sit on the throne of David; and his dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost.

³⁰Huaijiakin, Juda kumpipa Jehoiakim tungthu ah TOUPAN hichiin a chi: David tutphah ah tu ding mi a neikei ding: a luang leng sun nisa ah leh jan vuk nuaiah paih kihak ah ding.

³¹I will punish him and his seed and his servants for their iniquity; and I will bring on them, and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and on the men of Judah, all the evil that I have pronounced against them, but they didn’t listen.

³¹Huan, a thulimlouhna uh jiakinamah leh a suante leh a nasemmite ka gawt ding: huan, amau leh Jerusalem a tengte leh Juda mite tungah a tung ua ka phuansa, a ngaikhiak kei uh leh thil hoihlou tengteng ka hontun ding, chiin.Huchiin Jeremiain laibu jial dang a laa, Neri tapa Baruk laigelhmi a piaa, aman huaiah Jeremia kam akipan laibu gelhsa tengteng, Jehoiakim meia akhul mangsa thute a gelha: huai banah a kibatpih thu tampi a behlap lai hi.

³²Then took Jeremiah another scroll, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah, who wrote therein from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire; and there were added besides to them many like words.

³²Huchiin Jeremiain laibu jial dang a laa, Neri tapa Baruk laigelhmi a piaa, aman huaiah Jeremia kam akipan laibu gelhsa tengteng, Jehoiakim meia akhul mangsa thute a gelha: huai banah a kibatpih thu tampi a behlap lai hi.
