8

1At that time, says Yahweh, they shall bring out the bones of the kings of Judah, and the bones of his princes, and the bones of the priests, and the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, out of their graves;
1Huai hun chiangin, chih TOUPA thu pawt ahi: Juda kumpipate guh te, a heutute guhte, siampute guhte, jawlneite guhte, Jerusalema tengte guhte a han ua kipan a la khe ding ua;
2and they shall spread them before the sun, and the moon, and all the army of the sky, which they have loved, and which they have served, and after which they have walked, and which they have sought, and which they have worshiped: they shall not be gathered, nor be buried, they shall be for dung on the surface of the earth.
2Ni te, kha te, vana om tengteng, a it ua, na a sep ua, a delh ua, a zon ua, chibai a bukte uh maah a phou khe ding uh: lak khawm ahi nawnta kei ding ua, vui ahi sam kei ding uh; leitung a ekvut lel ding ahi ding.
3Death shall be chosen rather than life by all the residue that remain of this evil family, that remain in all the places where I have driven them, says Yahweh of Armies.
3Hiai inkuan gilou mahmah omlai sun tengteng, ka hawljakna muna omlaiten hin sangin sih a tel zo ding uh, chih sepaihte TOUPA thu pawt ahi.
4Moreover you shall tell them, Thus says Yahweh: Shall men fall, and not rise up again? Shall one turn away, and not return?
4Huai lou leng a kiang uah hichiin na gen ding hi: TOUPAN hichiin a chi: Mi a puk un a thou nawn kei ding ua hia? mi a vak mangin a hongkik nawn kei dia hia?
5Why then is this people of Jerusalem slidden back by a perpetual backsliding? they hold fast deceit, they refuse to return.
5Bangachia hiai Jerusalem mite, khantawn a nungtawn dinga a tolhpuk uh? khemna a len kip ua, kik nawn a ut kei uh.
6I listened and heard, but they didn’t speak aright: no man repents him of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? everyone turns to his course, as a horse that rushes headlong in the battle.
6Ka bil dohin ka ngaikhiaa, kuamahin thudik a gen kei uh, kuamahin, Bang ahia ka hih? chiin a thulimlouhna uh a kisik sam kei uh; mi chihin amau lampi a ngat chiat ua, kidouna muna sakol diang onon bang maiin.
7Yes, the stork in the sky knows her appointed times; and the turtledove and the swallow and the crane observe the time of their coming; but my people don’t know Yahweh’s law.

9The wise men are disappointed, they are dismayed and taken: behold, they have rejected the word of Yahweh; and what kind of wisdom is in them?
9Mi pilte a zum un a lungdong ding ua, matin a om ding uh; ngai un, TOUPA thu a paikhia ua, amau ah bang pilna a oma ahia?
10Therefore will I give their wives to others, and their fields to those who shall possess them: for everyone from the least even to the greatest is given to covetousness; from the prophet even to the priest every one deals falsely.
10Huaijiakin a jite uh midangte kiangah ka pe dinga, a loute uh leng a honneimi dingte kiangah; mi chih, a neupen akipana a thupipen tanin enhat ahi uhi. jawlnei akipana siampu tanin leng mi chih khemhat ahi ngal ua.

12Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore shall they fall among those who fall; in the time of their visitation they shall be cast down, says Yahweh.
12Thil kihhuai a hih uh a zum uhia? Ii, a zum het kei ua, a mel uh leng a san sam kei. Huaijiakin pukte lakah a puk tei ding ua, amaute gawt hun chiangin paihkhiakin a om ding uh chih TOUPA thu pawt ahi.
13I will utterly consume them, says Yahweh: no grapes shall be on the vine, nor figs on the fig tree, and the leaf shall fade; and the things that I have given them shall pass away from them.
13Amau ka hihmang vek dinga, chih TOUPA thu pawt ahi: grep guite a gah kei dinga, theipi kungte a gah sam kei ding; a nah leng a vuai dinga, amaute tum mang ding te ka sep khinta hi.
14Why do we sit still? Assemble yourselves, and let us enter into the fortified cities, and let us be silent there; for Yahweh our God has put us to silence, and given us water of gall to drink, because we have sinned against Yahweh.
14Bangdia tu lailai i hi ua? kikaikhawm unla, khopi kulhneite ah lut unla, huailaiah i mangthang diam ding uh; TOUPA tunga i gitlouh tak jiakin; TOUPA i Pathian un gu-tui dawnding honpiain manthatna ah a honkoih hi.

16The snorting of his horses is heard from Dan: at the sound of the neighing of his strong ones the whole land trembles; for they have come, and have devoured the land and all that is in it; the city and those who dwell therein.

18Oh that I could comfort myself against sorrow! My heart is faint within me.
18Aw lungkhamna ah kilungmuan thei ngut leng aw! sunggil ah ka lungtang a bahkhinta hi.
19Behold, the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people from a land that is very far off: isn’t Yahweh in Zion? Isn’t her King in her? Why have they provoked me to anger with their engraved images, and with foreign vanities?
19Ngai un, gam gamlapi akipan, ka tanu, ka mite kap husa, Zion ah TOUPA a om ka hia? a sunga a Kumpipa om lou ahi maw? a milim bawl tawmte leh nam dang milimtein bangachia honhehsak ahi ua?
