Judges

11

1Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty man of valor, and he was the son of a prostitute: and Gilead became the father of Jephthah.
1Huan, Gilead mi Jephtha bel mi hat hangsan ahi a, kijuaknu tapa ahi: huan, Gileadin Jephtha a suang.
2Gilead’s wife bore him sons; and when his wife’s sons grew up, they drove out Jephthah, and said to him, “You shall not inherit in our father’s house; for you are the son of another woman.”
2Huan, Gilead ji in tapate a suansaka; huan, a ji tapate a hongpichin un Jephtha a delh khia ua, a kiangah, Nang jaw ka pa uh in-gou na luah theikei ding; numei dang a kipan na hih jiakin, a chi ua.
3Then Jephthah fled from his brothers, and lived in the land of Tob: and there were gathered vain fellows to Jephthah, and they went out with him.
3Huchiin Jephtha a unaute akipanin a tai manga, Tob gamah a omta a; huan, Jephtha kiangah mi thulimlou pipi ateng khawm ua, a jui jel uh.
4It happened after a while, that the children of Ammon made war against Israel.
4Huan, Hichi ahia, a nung deuhin Amon suanten Israelte a douta ua.
5It was so, that when the children of Ammon made war against Israel, the elders of Gilead went to get Jephthah out of the land of Tob;
5Huan, hichi ahia, Amon suanten Israelte a dou u leh, Gilead-te upate Tob gama Jephtha pi dingin a pai kheta ua.
6and they said to Jephthah, “Come and be our chief, that we may fight with the children of Ammon.”
6Jephtha kiangah, Amon suante ka sual theihna ding un ka heutupen dingin hongomin, a chi ua.
7Jephthah said to the elders of Gilead, “Didn’t you hate me, and drive me out of my father’s house? Why have you come to me now when you are in distress?”
7Huan, Jephthain Gileadte upate kiangah, Non hua ua, ka pa in akipan non delh khia uh ahi kei maw? bangachia na buai tak ua ka kianga hong na hi ua? a chi a.
8The elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, “Therefore we have turned again to you now, that you may go with us, and fight with the children of Ammon; and you shall be our head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.”
8Huan, Gileadte upaten Jephtha kiangah, Huaijiak tak ahi hi, tua nang lam ka hongngat nawn uh, Amon suante sual dinga ka kiang ua na pai theihna dingin; huan, Gilead gama om tengtengte tungah ka heutu ding un na om ding, a chi ua.
9Jephthah said to the elders of Gilead, “If you bring me home again to fight with the children of Ammon, and Yahweh deliver them before me, shall I be your head?”
9Huan, Jephthain Gileadte upate kiangah, Amon suante sual dinga non pi kik nawn ua, hua, TOUPAN amau a honpiak leh na heutu ding un ka om petmah ding maw? a chi a.
10The elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, “Yahweh shall be witness between us; surely according to your word so will we do.”
10Huan, Gileadte upaten Jephtha kiangah, TOUPA i kikal uah hontheihpihpa ahi ding; na thu bangbangin ka hih ngeingei ding uh, a chi ua.
11Then Jephthah went with the elders of Gilead, and the people made him head and chief over them: and Jephthah spoke all his words before Yahweh in Mizpah.
11Huchiin Jephtha bel Gileadte upate kiangah a hohtaa, huan, miten heutu ding leh a pipenpen dingin a nabawlta uhi: huan, Jephthain Mizpa khua ah TOUPA maah thu bangkim a genta.
12Jephthah sent messengers to the king of the children of Ammon, saying, “What have you to do with me, that you have come to me to fight against my land?”
12Huan, Jephthain Amon suante Kumpipa kiangah, Bangchi dana hichibanga ka gam hongsual dinga ka kianga hongpai mawk na hia? chiin palai a sawla.
13The king of the children of Ammon answered to the messengers of Jephthah, “Because Israel took away my land, when he came up out of Egypt, from the Arnon even to the Jabbok, and to the Jordan: now therefore restore that territory again peaceably.”
13Huan, Amon suante kumpipan, Israelte Aigupta gam akipana a hongpawt lai ua ka gam a lak jiak uh a vo-oi, Arnon akipana Jabok leh Jordan tanin: huaijiakin huai gamte lungdamin honpe nawn main, chiin Jephtha palaite a nadawnga.
14Jephthah sent messengers again to the king of the children of Ammon;
14Huchiin Jephthain Amon suante kumpipa kiangah palai a sawl nawna:
15and he said to him, “Thus says Jephthah: Israel didn’t take away the land of Moab, nor the land of the children of Ammon,
15A kiangah, Jephthain hichiin a chi, Israelten Moab gam a laksak kei ua, Amon suante gam leng a laksak sam kei uh:
16but when they came up from Egypt, and Israel went through the wilderness to the Red Sea , and came to Kadesh;
16Aigupta gam akipan a hongpawtna uh Tuipi San tana gamdaia paisuak ahi ua, Kades a tun un,
17then Israel sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying, ‘Please let me pass through your land;’ but the king of Edom didn’t listen. In the same way, he sent to the king of Moab; but he would not: and Israel stayed in Kadesh.
17Israelten Edom kumpipa kiangah, Hehpihtakin na gamah ka paisuak ding uh, chiin palai a sawl ua: himahleh Edom kumpipain a nangaikhe nuam kei. Huan, huchimahbangin Moab kumpipa kiangah a sawl nawna: himahleh pha a nasa keia: huchiin Israelte Kades ah a omta uh.
18Then they went through the wilderness, and went around the land of Edom, and the land of Moab, and came by the east side of the land of Moab, and they encamped on the other side of the Arnon; but they didn’t come within the border of Moab, for the Arnon was the border of Moab.
18Huchiin gamdai ah a paisuak ua, Edom gam leh Moab gam kimvelin a pai ua, Moab gam suahlam pangah a pai ua, Arnon leh lampangah ommun a bawl ua; Moab gamsungah jaw a lut kei hial uh, Arnon bel Moab gamgi chiang lah ahi ngala.
19Israel sent messengers to Sihon king of the Amorites, the king of Heshbon; and Israel said to him, ‘Please let us pass through your land to my place.’
19Huan, Israelten Amorte Kumpipa Sihon, Hesbon kumpipa kiangah palai a sawl ua; Israelten a kiangah, Ka mun lam ua paina dingin hehpih takin nagam ah ka paisuak ding uh, a chi ua.
20But Sihon didn’t trust Israel to pass through his border; but Sihon gathered all his people together, and encamped in Jahaz, and fought against Israel.
20Himahleh Sihonin Israelte a gam a paisuak dingin a muangzou keia: Sihonin a mite tengteng a kaikhawma, Jahaz khua ah a kikulha, Israelte a sualta hi.
21Yahweh, the God of Israel, delivered Sihon and all his people into the hand of Israel, and they struck them: so Israel possessed all the land of the Amorites, the inhabitants of that country.
21Huan, TOUPA, Israelte Pathianin Sihon leh a lawite tengteng Israelte khut ah a piaa, amah a that uh: huchiin Israelten huai gam Amorte omna gam tengteng a tang vekta uh.
22They possessed all the border of the Amorites, from the Arnon even to the Jabbok, and from the wilderness even to the Jordan.
22Huchiin Amorte gamgi chiang tengteng Arnon akipana Jabok phain, gamdai kipana Jordan phain a tang vek uh ahi.
23So now Yahweh, the God of Israel, has dispossessed the Amorites from before his people Israel, and should you possess them?
23Huchiin TOUPA, Israelte Pathianin a mi Israelte maah Amorte a sut hi, nang amau na tang sin ahia?
24Won’t you possess that which Chemosh your god gives you to possess? So whoever Yahweh our God has dispossessed from before us, them will we possess.
24Na pathian Kemosain na tuam dia honseh saksa tang sin hilou na hi maw? Huchiin TOUPA ka Pathian un ka ma ua a suhte ka tangding uh.
25Now are you anything better than Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab? Did he ever strive against Israel, or did he ever fight against them?
25Moab kumpipa Zipor tapa Balak sangin na hatjaw ahia? Aman Israelte a tok buaiin, a dou ngam ahia?
26While Israel lived in Heshbon and its towns, and in Aroer and its towns, and in all the cities that are along by the side of the Arnon, three hundred years; why didn’t you recover them within that time?
26Israelte Hesbon ah leh a khopel ah, Aroer leh a khopelte ah, Arnon gamgi naih khopi tengtenga kum zathum tak a om laiua, bangdinga la loua na naom thek na hia?
27I therefore have not sinned against you, but you do me wrong to war against me. Yahweh, the Judge, be judge this day between the children of Israel and the children of Ammon.”
27Huaijiakin na tungah thil bangmah ka hihkhial kei hi, nangman honsual na tup jiakin ka tungah thil na hihkhial ahi: TOUPA, Vaihawmpain tuin Israel suante leh Amon suante kala thu ngaihtuah hen, a chi, chiin.
28However the king of the children of Ammon didn’t listen to the words of Jephthah which he sent him.
28Himahleh Amon suante kumpipan Jephtha thukhah a na ngaikhe nuam kei hi.
29Then the Spirit of Yahweh came on Jephthah, and he passed over Gilead and Manasseh, and passed over Mizpeh of Gilead, and from Mizpeh of Gilead he passed over to the children of Ammon.
29Huchiin Toupa kha tuh Jephtha tungah a hongtunga, huchiin Gilead leh Manasi gamah a paisuaka, Gilead gama Mizpa ah a paisuaka, huan, Gilead gam Mizpa akipanin Amon suante kiangah a pai jel hi.
30Jephthah vowed a vow to Yahweh, and said, “If you will indeed deliver the children of Ammon into my hand,
30Huan, Jephtha TOUPA kiangah a kichiama, Amon suante ka khuta na honpiak petmah leh,
31then it shall be, that whatever comes forth from the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the children of Ammon, it shall be Yahweh’s, and I will offer it up for a burnt offering.”
31Hichi ahi dinga, Amon suante kiang akipana galmuanga ka painawn hun chiangin bangpeuh ka kongpi akipana hondawn masa penpen TOUPA a ahi ding, halmang thillat dingin ka zang ngeingei ding, a chi a.
32So Jephthah passed over to the children of Ammon to fight against them; and Yahweh delivered them into his hand.
32Huchiin Jephtha bel Amon suante sual dingin a kuantaa; huan, TOUPAN a khut ah a peta hi.
33He struck them from Aroer until you come to Minnith, even twenty cities, and to Abelcheramim, with a very great slaughter. So the children of Ammon were subdued before the children of Israel.
33Huan, Aroer akipana Mibith phain a sual jela, kho sawmnih tak, huan, Abel-keramim phain a that eka. Huchiin Amon suante Israel suante maah a na zahlakta uhi.
34Jephthah came to Mizpah to his house; and behold, his daughter came out to meet him with tambourines and with dances: and she was his only child; besides her he had neither son nor daughter.
34Huan, Jephtha bel a omna Mizpa khuaa a in a tungtaa, huan, ngaiin, a tanuin khuangtate tohin lamin a nadawna: a ta neih sun ahia; amah lou tapa leh tanu dang himhim a neikei.
35It happened, when he saw her, that he tore his clothes, and said, “Alas, my daughter! You have brought me very low, and you are one of those who trouble me; for I have opened my mouth to Yahweh, and I can’t go back.”
35Huan, hichi ahia, amah a muh takin a puante a botkeka, Ehe, ka tanu! Non niamkhiak mahmah ve, honmangbangsak mite laka na hita: TOUPA lamah lah ka kam ka nakata ngala, huailah jukkik thei ka hita kei, a chi a.
36She said to him, “My father, you have opened your mouth to Yahweh; do to me according to that which has proceeded out of your mouth, because Yahweh has taken vengeance for you on your enemies, even on the children of Ammon.”
36Huan, aman a kiangah, Pa, TOUPA lamah na kam na nakataa; na kama na thupawt bang ngeiin ka tungah na hih ding hi; TOUPAN na melma Amon suante tung ngeiah lah na phu a lata ngala, a chi a.
37She said to her father, “Let this thing be done for me: let me alone two months, that I may depart and go down on the mountains, and bewail my virginity, I and my companions.”
37Huan, a pa kiangah, Hichi bangin ka hih ding: kha nih sungin ka tang om dinga, tangte ah a suk a touin ka pai dinga, ka nungakna ka honsun dinga, kei leh ka lawmte toh, a chi a.
38He said, “Go.” He sent her away for two months: and she departed, she and her companions, and mourned her virginity on the mountains.
38Huan, aman, Pai ve, a chi a. Huchiin kha nih tam dingin a sawla; huan, a pawta, amah leh a lawmte toh, huan, tangte ah a nungakna a vasun.
39It happened at the end of two months, that she returned to her father, who did with her according to his vow which he had vowed: and she was a virgin. It was a custom in Israel,
39Huan, hichi ahia, kha nih nungin a pa kiangah a pai nawna, aman a nakichiamsa bangin a tungah a hiha: pasal kuamahin a kithuahpih kei uh.Huchiin Israelte lakah Israel tanuten Gilead mi Jephtha tanu kum tengin ni li sun danin a na neita uhi.
40that the daughters of Israel went yearly to celebrate the daughter of Jephthah the Gileadite four days in a year.
40Huchiin Israelte lakah Israel tanuten Gilead mi Jephtha tanu kum tengin ni li sun danin a na neita uhi.
