21

1The Canaanite, the king of Arad, who lived in the South, heard tell that Israel came by the way of Atharim; and he fought against Israel, and took some of them captive.
1Huan, Kanan mi, Arad Kumpipa simlam a om in Israel mite Atharim lampi ah a hong pai uh chih gen ging a na za a; huchi in Israel mite a sual a, sal mat bang a nei hi.
2Israel vowed a vow to Yahweh, and said, “If you will indeed deliver this people into my hand, then I will utterly destroy their cities.”
2Huan, Israel mite'n TOUPA kiang ah thu achiam ua, Hiai mite ka khut ua no'n piak leh a khuate uh ka hihmang ding uh, a chi ua.
3Yahweh listened to the voice of Israel, and delivered up the Canaanites; and they utterly destroyed them and their cities: and the name of the place was called Hormah.
3Huchi in TOUPA'N Israel mite thu a pom a, Kanan mite a pia a, amau leh a khuate a hihmang uhi; a mun min ding in Horma a sa uhi.
4They traveled from Mount Hor by the way to the Red Sea , to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way.
4Huan, Hor tang a kipan in Tuipi San lam ah Edom gam pai kualkhum in a pai ua: a lampi ziak in mipi lungsim a lungkim kei hial hi.
5The people spoke against God, and against Moses, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no bread, and there is no water; and our soul loathes this light bread.”
5Mipite'n Pathian leh Mosi kalh in, Gamdai a si ding a bang dia Aigupta a kipan hon pikhia na hia? Tanghou lah om lou, tui lah om lou: hiai tanghou kihhuai lah ka hinna un a kih hi, a chi ua.
6Yahweh sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and many people of Israel died.
6Huchi in TOUPA'N mipi lak ah gul gukhah chite a sawl a, mite a tu ua, Israel mite tampi a si uhi.
7The people came to Moses, and said, “We have sinned, because we have spoken against Yahweh, and against you. Pray to Yahweh, that he take away the serpents from us.” Moses prayed for the people.
7Huan, mite Mosi kiang ah a hoh ua, TOUPA leh nang kal ah ka na pau uh ka na khial ta uhi, I lak ua gulte hihmang ding in TOUPA kiang ah thum dih ve, a chi ua; huchi in mite Mosi in a thumsak hi.
8Yahweh said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a standard: and it shall happen, that everyone who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live.”
8Huan, TOUPA'N Mosi kiang ah, Gul gukha chi, a lim bawl inla, khuam ah khai in; huan, hichi ahi ding a, gul tuk mi peuhmah in huai a et uleh a dam ding uh, a chi a.
9Moses made a serpent of brass, and set it on the standard: and it happened, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he looked to the serpent of brass, he lived.
9Huchi in Mosi in dal gul a bawl a, khuam ah a khai a; huan, hichi ahi a, gul tuk mi peuhmah in dal gul a et uleh a dam zel uhi.
10The children of Israel traveled, and encamped in Oboth.
10Huan, Israel suante a paizel ua, Oboth ah giahmun a bawl uh.
11They traveled from Oboth, and encamped at Iyeabarim, in the wilderness which is before Moab, toward the sunrise.
11Huan, Oboth a kipan in a pai nawn ua, ni suahna lam Moab gamdai bul Ije-abarim ah giahbuk a sat uh.
12From there they traveled, and encamped in the valley of Zered.
12Huai a kipan in a painawn ua, Zered guam ah giahbuk a sat uh.
13From there they traveled, and encamped on the other side of the Arnon, which is in the wilderness, that comes out of the border of the Amorites: for the Arnon is the border of Moab, between Moab and the Amorites.
13Huai a kipan in a pai nawn ua, Amorte gamgi a kipan a hong dawk tuam gamdai a Aron lehlam sang ah giahbuk a sat ua; Arnon bel Moab gamgi, Moab leh Amorte kikal a om ahi.
14Therefore it is said in the book of the Wars of Yahweh, “Vaheb in Suphah, the valleys of the Arnon,
14Huaiziak in TOUPA kidounate laibu ah, Supha a Vaheb, Arnon guamte,
15the slope of the valleys that incline toward the dwelling of Ar, leans on the border of Moab.”
15Ar omna lam a luangsuk luitate tui, Moab gamgi bul a om ah.
16From there they traveled to Beer: that is the well of which Yahweh said to Moses, “Gather the people together, and I will give them water.”
16Huai a kipan in Beer ah a painawn ua; huai bel TOUPA'N Mosi kiang a, Mipite samkhawm inla, tui ka pe ding, a chihna tuileh ahi.
17Then sang Israel this song: “Spring up, well; sing to it:
17Huan, Israelte'n hiai la a sa uh: Aw tuikhuk, hong kikhoh khia inla, a kiang ah lasa un:
18the well, which the princes dug, which the nobles of the people dug, with the scepter, and with their poles.” From the wilderness they traveled to Mattanah;
18A lalchiang uleh a khetbuk utoh a lalte'n aleh uh, mipite upate'n a toh uh tuikhuk. Huan gamdai a kipan khawng in Matana tan a pai uh:
19and from Mattanah to Nahaliel; and from Nahaliel to Bamoth;
19Huan, Matana a kipan in Nahaliel ah; Nahaliel a kipan in Bamoth ah:
20and from Bamoth to the valley that is in the field of Moab, to the top of Pisgah, which looks down on the desert.
20Bamoth a kipan in Moab lou a guam leh gamdai sunsuk Pisga vum ah.
21Israel sent messengers to Sihon king of the Amorites, saying,
21Huan, Israel mite'n Amorte kumpipa Sihon kiang ah mi a sawl ua,
22“Let me pass through your land: we will not turn aside into field, or into vineyard; we will not drink of the water of the wells: we will go by the king’s highway, until we have passed your border.”
22Na gamah hon paisuak sak ve; lou ah hiam, grep huan ah hiam ka pial kei ding ua; tuileh tuite ka dawn kei ding uh: na gam ka khen masiah uh kumpipa lamlian ah ka paizel ding uhi, chi in.
23Sihon would not allow Israel to pass through his border: but Sihon gathered all his people together, and went out against Israel into the wilderness, and came to Jahaz; and he fought against Israel.
23Himahleh Sihon in Israel mite a gam a a paisuak uh a phal kei a: Sihon in a mite tengteng a kaikhawm vek a, Israel mite sual ding in gamdai ah a kisakhe zota ua, Jahaz a va tung ua; huan, Israel mite a sual uh.
24Israel struck him with the edge of the sword, and possessed his land from the Arnon to the Jabbok, even to the children of Ammon; for the border of the children of Ammon was strong.
24Huan, Israel mite'n namsau in a sual ua, a gam Arnon a kipan Jabok tan in, Amon suante tan in a neihsak uh: Amon suante gam a haksa mahmah
25Israel took all these cities: and Israel lived in all the cities of the Amorites, in Heshbon, and in all its towns.
25Huan, Israel mite'n huai khua tengteng a la ua: huchi in Israel mite Amorte khua tengteng khawng ah a om ua. Hesbon leh a khopel tengteng khawng ah leng.
26For Heshbon was the city of Sihon the king of the Amorites, who had fought against the former king of Moab, and taken all his land out of his hand, even to the Arnon.
26Hesbon khua bel Amorte kumpipa Sihon khua ahi, amah huai ma a Moab kumpipa na nasual a a khut a kipan a a gam tengteng, Arnon tan a laksak pa ahi.
27Therefore those who speak in proverbs say, “Come to Heshbon. Let the city of Sihon be built and established;
27Huaiziak in la a phuahkhum mite'n, Hesbon ah hong pai unla, Sihon khopi lam leh hihkip hi hen;
28for a fire has gone out of Heshbon, a flame from the city of Sihon. It has devoured Ar of Moab, The lords of the high places of the Arnon.
28Hesbon a kipan in mei a pawt a, Sihon khopi a kipan in meikuang: Moaba a Ar a kang khin a, Arnon mun sangtoute.
29Woe to you, Moab! You are undone, people of Chemosh! He has given his sons as fugitives, and his daughters into captivity, to Sihon king of the Amorites.
29Na tung a gik, Moab! Na mangthang ta, aw Kemos mi: a tapa taimang ding in a tanute sal in a pi a, Amorte kumpipa Sihon kiang ah.
30We have shot at them. Heshbon has perished even to Dibon. We have laid waste even to Nophah, Which reaches to Medeba.”
30Ka va kap ua, Hesbon a mangthang a, Dibon tan in, Nopha tan in ka hihgam uh, huai in Medaba a pha, a chi uh.
31Thus Israel lived in the land of the Amorites.
31Huchi bang in, Amorte gamah Israel mite a om uh.
32Moses sent to spy out Jazer; and they took its towns, and drove out the Amorites who were there.
32Huan, Mosi in Jazer enkhe ding in a sawl a, huailai a khuate a la ua, huai a Amorte a delhkhia uh.
33They turned and went up by the way of Bashan: and Og the king of Bashan went out against them, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei.
33Huan, a kik ua, Basan lampi lam ah a paitou ua: huan, Basan kumpipa Og amaute sual ding in, amah leh a mite tengteng, Edrei a na sual ding in a kisa khia uh.
34Yahweh said to Moses, “Don’t fear him: for I have delivered him into your hand, and all his people, and his land; and you shall do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived at Heshbon.”
34Huan, TOUPA'N Mosi kiang ah, amah kihta ke'n: amah leng, a mi tengteng leng, a gam leng na khut ah ka hon pe khin ta ahi; Heshon a om Amorte kumpipa Sihon tung a na hih bang in na hih ding ahi, a chi a.Huchi in amah leng, a tapate leng, hawi himhim neilou in a mite tengteng toh a that ua; a gam a luahsak uh.
35So they struck him, and his sons and all his people, until there was none left him remaining: and they possessed his land.
35Huchi in amah leng, a tapate leng, hawi himhim neilou in a mite tengteng toh a that ua; a gam a luahsak uh.
