¹The word of Yahweh came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,

¹ کلام خداوند بر ییهُو، پسر حنانی علیه بعشا آمد که فرمود:

²“Because I exalted you out of the dust, and made you prince over my people Israel, and you have walked in the way of Jeroboam, and have made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins;

² «چون من تو را از خاک برداشتم و رهبر مردم اسرائیل کردم و تو در راه یربعام گام برداشتی و قوم من اسرائیل را به گناه کشاندی، گناه ایشان مرا خشمگین کرده است.

³behold, I will utterly sweep away Baasha and his house; and I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

³ پس من همان‌گونه که با خاندان یربعام رفتار نمودم با تو و خاندان تو هم رفتار خواهم کرد.

⁴The dogs will eat Baasha’s descendants who die in the city; and he who dies of his in the field the birds of the sky will eat.”

⁴ هرکس از خاندان تو در شهر بمیرد، سگها وی را خواهند خورد و آنانی که در بیابان بمیرند، طعمهٔ لاشخورها خواهند شد.»

⁵Now the rest of the acts of Baasha, and what he did, and his might, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

⁵ بقیّهٔ کارهای بعشا و شجاعتهای او در کتاب تاریخ پادشاهان اسرائیل نوشته شده‌ است.

⁶Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah; and Elah his son reigned in his place.

⁶ بعشا درگذشت و در شهر ترصه به خاک سپرده شد و پسرش، ایله جانشین او شد.

⁷Moreover by the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani came the word of Yahweh against Baasha, and against his house, both because of all the evil that he did in the sight of Yahweh, to provoke him to anger with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam, and because he struck him.

⁷ به سبب گناه بعشا علیه خداوند، پیام خداوند به ییهوی نبی، پسر حنانی علیه بعشا آمد. او خشم خداوند را برانگیخت نه تنها به دلیل کارهای پلید خود، که مانند یربعام پادشاه رفتار کرد و بلکه همچنین به‌خاطر کشتار همهٔ خاندان یربعام.

⁸In the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah, Elah the son of Baasha began to reign over Israel in Tirzah for two years.

⁸ در سال بیست و ششم پادشاهی آسا بر یهودا، ایله، پسر بعشا در ترصه پادشاه اسرائیل شد و دو سال سلطنت کرد.

⁹His servant Zimri, captain of half his chariots, conspired against him. Now he was in Tirzah, drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza, who was over the household in Tirzah:

⁹ زَمرِی، یکی از افسران او که فرماندهٔ نیمی از ارّابه‌های پادشاه بود، علیه پادشاه توطئه چید. روزی ایله در ترصه، در خانهٔ ارصا که مسئول کاخ بود، مست ‌شد.

¹⁰and Zimri went in and struck him, and killed him, in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his place.

¹⁰ زمری وارد خانه شد، ایله را زد و کشت و جانشین پادشاه گردید. این واقعه در بیست و هفتمین سال سلطنت آسا، پادشاه یهودا رخ داد.

¹¹It happened, when he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, that he struck all the house of Baasha: he didn’t leave him a single one who urinates on a wall, or, male neither of his relatives, nor of his friends.

¹¹ به محض اینکه زمری پادشاه شد، همهٔ اعضای خانوادهٔ بعشا را کُشت و همهٔ مردان خویشاوند و دوستان او را نیز کشت.

¹²Thus Zimri destroyed all the house of Baasha, according to the word of Yahweh, which he spoke against Baasha by Jehu the prophet,

¹² به این ترتیب، زمری تمام خاندان بعشا را طبق کلام خداوند که به ییهوی نبی فرموده بود هلاک کرد،

¹³for all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, which they sinned, and with which they made Israel to sin, to provoke Yahweh, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities.

¹³ زیرا بعشا و پسرش، ایله بت‌پرستی کردند و اسرائیل را به گناه کشیدند و خشم خداوند خدای اسرائیل را برانگیختند.

¹⁴Now the rest of the acts of Elah, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

¹⁴ بقیّهٔ رویدادهای سلطنت ایله در کتاب تاریخ پادشاهان اسرائیل نوشته شده است.

¹⁵In the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, Zimri reigned seven days in Tirzah. Now the people were encamped against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines.

¹⁵ زمری در بیست و هفتمین سال سلطنت آسا، پادشاه یهودا، در ترصه پادشاه اسرائیل شد و هفت روز حکومت کرد. در این هنگام سپاه اسرائیل شهر جبتون را در فلسطین محاصره کرده بود.

¹⁶The people who were encamped heard say, Zimri has conspired, and has also struck the king: therefore all Israel made Omri, the captain of the army, king over Israel that day in the camp.

¹⁶ هنگامی‌که آنها شنیدند که زمری توطئه کرده و پادشاه را کشته است در همان‌جا فرماندهٔ خود عُمرِی را به پادشاهی اسرائیل برگزیدند.

¹⁷Omri went up from Gibbethon, and all Israel with him, and they besieged Tirzah.

¹⁷ عُمری با سپاه اسرائیل از جبتون به ترصه رفت و آن را محاصره کرد.

¹⁸It happened, when Zimri saw that the city was taken, that he went into the castle of the king’s house, and burnt the king’s house over him with fire, and died,

¹⁸ هنگامی‌که زمری دید که شهر تسخیر شده است. به قلعهٔ داخلی کاخ رفت و کاخ را به آتش کشید و در میان آتش مرد.

¹⁹for his sins which he sinned in doing that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, in walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he did, to make Israel to sin.

¹⁹ این رویداد به‌خاطر گناه او علیه خداوند بود. او نیز مانند یربعام با گناهان خود و به گناه کشاندن قوم اسرائیل، خداوند را ناراحت کرد.

²⁰Now the rest of the acts of Zimri, and his treason that he committed, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

²⁰ بقیّهٔ رویدادهای سلطنت زمری و توطئه او در کتاب تاریخ پادشاهان اسرائیل نوشته شده است.

²¹Then were the people of Israel divided into two parts: half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king; and half followed Omri.

²¹ میان مردم اسرائیل دوگانگی افتاد گروهی خواستار پادشاهی تِبنی، پسر جِینَت شدند و گروه دیگر از عُمری پیروی کردند.

²²But the people who followed Omri prevailed against the people who followed Tibni the son of Ginath: so Tibni died, and Omri reigned.

²² امّا گروهی که طرفدار عُمری بودند بر مردمی که طرفدار تبنی، پسر جینت بودند، چیره گشتند. پس تبنی درگذشت و عمری پادشاه شد.

²³In the thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah, Omri began to reign over Israel for twelve years. He reigned six years in Tirzah.

²³ عُمری در سال سی و یکم سلطنت آسا، پادشاه یهودا، پادشاه شد و دوازده سال که شش سال آن در ترصه بود، پادشاهی کرد.

²⁴He bought the hill Samaria of Shemer for two talents of silver; and he built on the hill, and called the name of the city which he built, after the name of Shemer, the owner of the hill, Samaria.

²⁴ عُمری تپّهٔ سامره را از شخصی به نام سامر به هفتاد کیلو نقره خرید و روی آن شهری ساخت و آن را به نام صاحبش، سامره نامید.

²⁵Omri did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, and dealt wickedly above all who were before him.

²⁵ عُمری بیش از پیشینیان خود علیه خداوند گناه ورزید.

²⁶For he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his sins with which he made Israel to sin, to provoke Yahweh, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities.

²⁶ در راه یربعام، پسر نباط گام برداشت و با گناه خود اسرائیل را به گناه کشید و با بُتهای خود خشم خداوند خدای اسرائیل را برانگیخت.

²⁷Now the rest of the acts of Omri which he did, and his might that he showed, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

²⁷ بازماندهٔ رویدادهای پادشاهی عُمری و کارهای او در کتاب تاریخ پادشاهان اسرائیل نوشته شده است.

²⁸So Omri slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria; and Ahab his son reigned in his place.

²⁸ عُمری در گذشت و در سامره به خاک سپرده شد و پسرش اخاب جانشین او گشت.

²⁹In the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah began Ahab the son of Omri to reign over Israel: and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty-two years.

²⁹ اخاب پسر عُمری در سال سی و هشتم سلطنت آسا، پادشاه یهودا، پادشاه اسرائیل شد و بیست و دو سال در سامره سلطنت کرد.

³⁰Ahab the son of Omri did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh above all that were before him.

³⁰ او بیش از پیشینیان خود علیه خداوند گناه ورزید.

³¹It happened, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took as wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshiped him.

³¹ گویا گام برداشتن در راه گناه‌آلود یربعام، پسر نباط برایش کافی نبود که با ایزابل دختر اَتبَعل، پادشاه صیدون هم ازدواج کرد و بت بعل را خدمت و پرستش نمود.

³²He reared up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria.

³² او پرستشگاه و قربانگاهی برای بعل در سامره ساخت.

³³Ahab made the Asherah; and Ahab did yet more to provoke Yahweh, the God of Israel, to anger than all the kings of Israel who were before him.

³³ همچنین او الههٔ اشره را ساخت. او بیش از پادشاهان پیشین گناه کرد و خشم خداوند خدای اسرائیل را برانگیخت. در زمان اخاب، مردی از بیت‌ئیل به نام حیئیل شهر اریحا را بازسای کرد. همان‌طور که خداوند به وسیلهٔ یوشع پسر نون گفته بود، پایه‌های شهر را به قیمت جان پسر اولش ابیرام بنا نهاد و دروازهٔ شهر را به قیمت جان سُجُوب، کوچکترین فرزندش بنا کرد.

³⁴In his days Hiel the Bethelite built Jericho: he laid its foundation with the loss of Abiram his firstborn, and set up its gates with the loss of his youngest son Segub, according to the word of Yahweh, which he spoke by Joshua the son of Nun.

³⁴ در زمان اخاب، مردی از بیت‌ئیل به نام حیئیل شهر اریحا را بازسای کرد. همان‌طور که خداوند به وسیلهٔ یوشع پسر نون گفته بود، پایه‌های شهر را به قیمت جان پسر اولش ابیرام بنا نهاد و دروازهٔ شهر را به قیمت جان سُجُوب، کوچکترین فرزندش بنا کرد.
