¹Thus all the work that Solomon did for the house of Yahweh was finished. Solomon brought in the things that David his father had dedicated, even the silver, and the gold, and all the vessels, and put them in the treasuries of the house of God.

¹ وقتی همهٔ کارهایی که سلیمان برای معبد بزرگ کرد پایان گرفت، سلیمان چیزهایی را که پدرش، داوود وقف کرده بود و طلا، نقره و همهٔ ظروف را در خزانهٔ معبد بزرگ گذاشت.

²Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the princes of the fathers’ households of the children of Israel, to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of Yahweh out of the city of David, which is Zion.

² آنگاه سلیمان رهبران اسرائیل، سران طایفه‌ها و خانواده‌ها را برای آوردن صندوق پیمان خداوند از شهر داوود در صهیون، به اورشلیم فراخواند.

³And all the men of Israel assembled themselves to the king at the feast, which was in the seventh month.

³ تمام مردان اسرائیل در عید خیمه‌ها که در ماه هفتم برگزار می‌شد، نزد پادشاه گرد آمدند.

⁴All the elders of Israel came: and the Levites took up the ark;

⁴ هنگامی‌که همهٔ رهبران اسرائیل آمدند، لاویان صندوق پیمان را برداشتند.

⁵and they brought up the ark, and the Tent of Meeting, and all the holy vessels that were in the Tent; these the priests the Levites brought up.

⁵ صندوق پیمان، خیمهٔ مقدّس و تمام ظروف مقدّسی را که در خیمه بود، کاهنان و لاویان آوردند.

⁶King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled to him, were before the ark, sacrificing sheep and cattle, that could not be counted nor numbered for multitude.

⁶ آنگاه سلیمان پادشاه و تمام قوم اسرائیل، در برابر صندوق پیمان گرد آمدند و آن‌قدر گاو و گوسفند قربانی کردند که به شمار نمی‌آمد.

⁷The priests brought in the ark of the covenant of Yahweh to its place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubim.

⁷ پس کاهنان صندوق پیمان خداوند را در جایش در مقدّسترین مکان در زیر بال فرشتگان نگهبان قرار دادند،

⁸For the cherubim spread forth their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim covered the ark and its poles above.

⁸ بالهای فرشتگان نگهبان بر روی صندوق پیمان و چوبهایی که با آنها آن را حمل می‌کردند، گسترده بودند.

⁹The poles were so long that the ends of the poles were seen from the ark before the oracle; but they were not seen outside: and there it is to this day.

⁹ این چوبها آن‌قدر بلند بودند که انتهای آنها از مقدّسترین مکان دیده می‌شد، ولی از حیاط دیده نمی‌شدند و تا به امروز در آنجا هستند.

¹⁰There was nothing in the ark except the two tables which Moses put at Horeb, when Yahweh made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of Egypt.

¹⁰ در صندوق پیمان چیزی جز دو لوحی که موسی در کوه سینا -‌جایی است که خداوند با قوم اسرائیل هنگام خروجشان از مصر پیمان بست- در آن گذاشت، نبود.

¹¹It happened, when the priests had come out of the holy place, (for all the priests who were present had sanctified themselves, and didn’t keep their divisions;

¹¹ هنگامی‌که کاهنان از قدس بیرون آمدند، -‌زیرا تمام کاهنانی که حاضر بودند بدون توجّه به گروهی که در آن بودند- خود را پاک کرده بودند.

¹²also the Levites who were the singers, all of them, even Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun, and their sons and their brothers, arrayed in fine linen, with cymbals and stringed instruments and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them one hundred twenty priests sounding with trumpets;)

¹² تمام سرایندگان لاوی، یعنی آساف، هیمان، یدوتون، پسران و برادران ایشان، لباسهای کتانی مرغوب پوشیده بودند. ایشان با سنج، بربط و چنگ با صد و بیست کاهن که شیپور می‌نواختند در شرق قربانگاه ایستادند.

¹³it happened, when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking Yahweh; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised Yahweh, saying, “For he is good; for his loving kindness endures forever!” that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of Yahweh,

¹³ وظیفهٔ شیپورچی‌ها و سرایندگان این بود که در ستایش و پرستش هم‌نوایی کنند و هنگامی‌که آواز ایشان برخاست، با صدای سنج و شیپور و بقیّهٔ سازها، در ستایش خداوند خواندند که: او نیکوست، و محبّت او تا ابد پایدار است. در آن هنگام معبد بزرگ پر از ابر شد. کاهنان به سبب ابر نتوانستند بایستند و خدمت کنند، زیرا شکوه خداوند معبد بزرگ را پُر کرد.

¹⁴so that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of Yahweh filled God’s house.

¹⁴ کاهنان به سبب ابر نتوانستند بایستند و خدمت کنند، زیرا شکوه خداوند معبد بزرگ را پُر کرد.
