¹Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of Yahweh filled the house.

¹ هنگامی‌که نیایش سلیمان تمام شد، آتشی از آسمان فرود آمد و هدایای سوختنی و قربانی‌ها را سوزاند و شکوه خداوند معبد بزرگ را دربر گرفت

²The priests could not enter into the house of Yahweh, because the glory of Yahweh filled Yahweh’s house.

² کاهنان نتوانستند وارد معبد بزرگ شوند، زیرا شکوه خداوند معبد بزرگ را دربر گرفته بود.

³All the children of Israel looked on, when the fire came down, and the glory of Yahweh was on the house; and they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground on the pavement, and worshiped, and gave thanks to Yahweh, saying, “For he is good; for his loving kindness endures for ever.”

³ هنگامی‌که همهٔ مردم اسرائیل آتشی که فرود آمد و شکوه خداوند را در معبد بزرگ دیدند، روی سنگفرش زانو زدند و صورت خود را بر زمین نهادند و خداوند را نیایش و ستایش کردند و گفتند: «او نیکوست، محبّت پایدار او تا ابد پایدار است.»

⁴Then the king and all the people offered sacrifice before Yahweh.

⁴ آنگاه پادشاه و همهٔ مردم اسرائیل، نزد خداوند قربانی کردند.

⁵King Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty-two thousand head of cattle, and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the people dedicated God’s house.

⁵ و سلیمان پادشاه بیست و دو هزار گاو نر و صد و بیست هزار گوسفند را قربانی کرد. سپس پادشاه و همهٔ مردم، معبد بزرگ را تقدیس کردند.

⁶The priests stood, according to their positions; the Levites also with instruments of music of Yahweh, which David the king had made to give thanks to Yahweh, when David praised by their ministry, saying “For his loving kindness endures for ever.” The priests sounded trumpets before them; and all Israel stood.

⁶ کاهنان در جای مخصوص خود ایستادند، لاویان نیز با وسایل موسیقی‌ای که داوود پادشاه برای سپاسگزاری خداوند ساخته بود، می‌خواندند: «محبّت او پایدار و جاودان است.» در مقابل ایشان کاهنان شیپور می‌نواختند و همهٔ قوم اسرائیل ایستاده بودند.

⁷Moreover Solomon made the middle of the court holy that was before the house of Yahweh; for there he offered the burnt offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings, because the bronze altar which Solomon had made was not able to receive the burnt offering, and the meal offering, and the fat.

⁷ سلیمان، قسمت مرکزی حیاط را که مقابل معبد بزرگ بود تقدیس کرد و در آنجا قربانی سوختنی و قربانی سلامتی تقدیم کرد، زیرا قربانگاه برنزی که سلیمان ساخته بود، گنجایش قربانی‌های سوختنی و غلاّت و چربی را نداشت.

⁸So Solomon held the feast at that time seven days, and all Israel with him, a very great assembly, from the entrance of Hamath to the brook of Egypt.

⁸ در آن زمان سلیمان و مردم اسرائیل که گروه بزرگی بودند، در هفت روز، عید خیمه‌ها را جشن گرفتند. انبوهی از جمعیّت از راه دور، از گذرگاه حمات در شمال تا مرز مصر در جنوب، در آنجا بودند.

⁹On the eighth day they held a solemn assembly: for they kept the dedication of the altar seven days, and the feast seven days.

⁹ آنها هفت روز را برای تقدیس قربانگاه و هفت روز دیگر را برای عید صرف کردند و در روز هشتم جشن دیگری برپا نمودند.

¹⁰On the three and twentieth day of the seventh month he sent the people away to their tents, joyful and glad of heart for the goodness that Yahweh had shown to David, and to Solomon, and to Israel his people.

¹⁰ در روز بیست و سوم ماه هفتم، سلیمان مردم را به خانه‌های خود فرستاد. شادمان و با روحیهٔ خوب به‌خاطر نیکویی که خداوند به داوود، سلیمان و قوم خود اسرائیل نشان داده بود.

¹¹Thus Solomon finished the house of Yahweh, and the king’s house: and he successfully completed all that came into Solomon’s heart to make in the house of Yahweh, and in his own house.

¹¹ سلیمان ساختن معبد بزرگ و کاخ پادشاهی را به پایان رساند و نقشه‌هایی را که برای معبد بزرگ و خانهٔ خودش کشیده بود با موفّقیّت انجام داد.

¹²Yahweh appeared to Solomon by night, and said to him, “I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for a house of sacrifice.

¹² آنگاه خداوند در شب به سلیمان ظاهر شد و به او گفت: «من نیایش تو را شنیده‌ام و این مکان را برای قربانگاه برگزیده‌ام.

¹³“If I shut up the sky so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;

¹³ هنگامی‌که آسمان را می‌بندم و بارانی نیست، یا فرمان می‌دهم تا مَلخها کشتزارها را بخورند و یا بلایی در میان قوم خود بفرستم،

¹⁴if my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

¹⁴ اگر قوم من که به نام من خوانده می‌شوند، نزد من دعا کنند و توبه نمایند و از راههای پلید خود باز گردند، آنگاه من از آسمانها خواهم شنید و گناهان ایشان را خواهم بخشید و کامیابی به سرزمین آنها خواهم داد.

¹⁵Now my eyes shall be open, and my ears attentive, to the prayer that is made in this place.

¹⁵ اکنون چشمهای من باز و گوشهای من متوجّه نیایشی است که در این مکان بجا آورده می‌شود.

¹⁶For now have I chosen and made this house holy, that my name may be there forever; and my eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually.

¹⁶ زیرا اکنون من این خانه را برگزیده‌ام و تقدیس نموده‌ام تا نام من برای همیشه در آنجا باشد و چشم من همیشه در آن خواهد بود.

¹⁷“As for you, if you will walk before me as David your father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded you, and will keep my statutes and my ordinances;

¹⁷ امّا اگر تو مانند پدرت، داوود در حضور من گام برداری و طبق فرمانهایی که من به تو داده‌ام، عمل کنی و دستورات و احکام مرا نگاه داری،

¹⁸then I will establish the throne of your kingdom, according as I covenanted with David your father, saying, ‘There shall not fail you a man to be ruler in Israel.’

¹⁸ آنگاه من تخت پادشاهی تو را استوار می‌کنم و طبق پیمانی که با پدرت داوود بستم و گفتم: تو همیشه جانشینی در اسرائیل خواهی داشت که بر آن فرمانروایی کند، عمل خواهم کرد.

¹⁹But if you turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;

¹⁹ امّا اگر تو بازگردی و دستورات و احکامی را که به تو داده‌ام، ترک کنی و خدایان دیگر را خدمت و ستایش کنی،

²⁰then I will pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have made holy for my name, I will cast out of my sight, and I will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples.

²⁰ آنگاه من شما را از زمینی که به شما داده‌ام، برخواهم کند و این معبد بزرگ را که برای نامم تقدیس کرده‌ام، ترک خواهم کرد و آن را در بین اقوام ضرب‌المثل و مسخره خواهم ساخت.

²¹This house, which is so high, everyone who passes by it shall be astonished, and shall say, ‘Why has Yahweh done thus to this land, and to this house?’

²¹ «این معبد بزرگ اکنون بسیار مورد احترام است، امّا در آن زمان هرکس که از آن بگذرد، با تعجّب خواهد پرسید: 'چرا خداوند با این سرزمین و معبد بزرگ چنین کرد؟' آنگاه مردم خواهند گفت: 'زیرا ایشان خداوند، خدای نیاکان خود را که آنها را از مصر بیرون آورد، ترک کردند و خدایان دیگر را خدمت و پرستش کردند، در نتیجه خداوند آنها را به همهٔ این مصیبت‌ها گرفتار کرد.'»

²²They shall answer, ‘Because they abandoned Yahweh, the God of their fathers, who brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and took other gods, worshiped them, and served them. Therefore he has brought all this evil on them.’”

²² آنگاه مردم خواهند گفت: 'زیرا ایشان خداوند، خدای نیاکان خود را که آنها را از مصر بیرون آورد، ترک کردند و خدایان دیگر را خدمت و پرستش کردند، در نتیجه خداوند آنها را به همهٔ این مصیبت‌ها گرفتار کرد.'»
