¹Moreover, brothers, we make known to you the grace of God which has been given in the assemblies of Macedonia;

¹ ای دوستان، می‌خواهیم از آنچه فیض خدا در كلیساهای مقدونیه كرده است، آگاه شوید.

²how that in much proof of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded to the riches of their liberality.

² آنها با زحماتی كه دیده‌اند سخت آزموده شده‌اند و با وجود اینکه بسیار فقیر بودند، از خوشی فراوان پرشده‌اند و این خوشی منجر به بذل و بخشش و سخاوتمندی بی‌اندازهٔ آنها گشته است.

³For according to their power, I testify, yes and beyond their power, they gave of their own accord,

³ من، خود شاهد هستم كه آنها به اندازهٔ توانایی خود و حتّی بیشتر از آن با میل به دیگران كمک می‌كردند.

⁴begging us with much entreaty to receive this grace and the fellowship in the service to the saints.

⁴ و با اصرار زیاد از ما خواهش كردند كه در افتخار رفع نیازمندیهای مقدّسین شریک شوند.

⁵This was not as we had hoped, but first they gave their own selves to the Lord, and to us through the will of God.

⁵ این كار ایشان بیش از توقّع ما بود، زیرا اول خود را به خداوند تسلیم کردند و بعد طبق ارادهٔ خدا، خود را در اختیار ما گذاشتند.

⁶So we urged Titus, that as he made a beginning before, so he would also complete in you this grace.

⁶ پس ما به تیطُس كه این كار را در میان شما شروع كرده بود، اصرار كردیم كه آن را به اتمام برساند.

⁷But as you abound in everything, in faith, utterance, knowledge, all earnestness, and in your love to us, see that you also abound in this grace.

⁷ از این گذشته، چنانکه شما در هر امر دیگری از قبیل ایمان، سخندانی، درک حقیقت، جدّیت و محبّت نسبت به ما غنی هستید، می‌خواهیم كه در این امر خیر هم غنی باشید.

⁸I speak not by way of commandment, but as proving through the earnestness of others the sincerity also of your love.

⁸ این را به عنوان یک فرمان به شما نمی‌گویم بلكه می‌خواهم با اشاره به جدیّت دیگران، محبّت شما را بیازمایم.

⁹For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you through his poverty might become rich.

⁹ شما می‌دانید كه عیسی مسیح، خداوند ما چقدر بخشنده بود. گرچه دولتمند بود، به‌خاطر شما خود را فقیر ساخت تا شما از راه فقر او دولتمند شوید.

¹⁰I give a judgment in this: for this is expedient for you, who were the first to start a year ago, not only to do, but also to be willing.

¹⁰ در این مورد عقیدهٔ خود را ابراز می‌کنم: چون شما اولین كسانی بودید كه در یک سال پیش نه تنها مایل و راغب به كمک دیگران بودید بلكه عملاً این كار را كردید، اكنون به صلاح شماست كه به این كار ادامه دهید و تمام كنید.

¹¹But now complete the doing also, that as there was the readiness to be willing, so there may be the completion also out of your ability.

¹¹ آن زمان بسیار مایل بودید كه این كار را انجام دهید و اكنون مطابق علاقهٔ خود، با میل این كار را به اتمام برسانید.

¹²For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what you have, not according to what you don’t have.

¹² اگر كسی واقعاً مایل است كمک كند، خدا هدیهٔ او را نسبت به آنچه دارد می‌پذیرد، نه مطابق آنچه ندارد.

¹³For this is not that others may be eased and you distressed,

¹³ مقصودم این نیست كه دیگران از زیر بار شانه خالی كنند و شما بار ایشان را به دوش بگیرید. خیر! بلكه می‌خواهم این یک عمل متقابل باشد. یعنی آنچه را كه شما فعلاً به آن نیازی ندارید، برای رفع نیازمندهای آنها بدهید

¹⁴but for equality. Your abundance at this present time supplies their lack, that their abundance also may become a supply for your lack; that there may be equality.

¹⁴ تا روزی مازاد ایشان هم نیازمندیهای شما را رفع نماید و به این وسیله مساوات برقرار می‌شود.

¹⁵As it is written, “He who gathered much had nothing left over, and he who gathered little had no lack.” Exodus 16:8

¹⁵ چنانکه کتاب‌مقدّس می‌فرماید: «او كه زیاد جمع كرد زیادی نداشت، و آنکه اندک اندوخت كم نداشت.»

¹⁶But thanks be to God, who puts the same earnest care for you into the heart of Titus.

¹⁶ خدا را شكر كه او اشتیاقی نظیر آنچه من نسبت به شما دارم در دل تیطُس ایجاد كرده است.

¹⁷For he indeed accepted our exhortation, but being himself very earnest, he went out to you of his own accord.

¹⁷ او نه تنها درخواست ما را قبول كرد؛ بلكه با شوق و ذوق و از روی میل خود می‌‌خواست پیش شما بیاید.

¹⁸We have sent together with him the brother whose praise in the Good News is known through all the assemblies.

¹⁸ همراه او آن برادری را كه در تمام كلیساها به‌خاطر بشارت دادن انجیل شهرت یافته است، می‌فرستم.

¹⁹Not only so, but who was also appointed by the assemblies to travel with us in this grace, which is served by us to the glory of the Lord himself, and to show our readiness.

¹⁹ علاوه بر این، او از طرف كلیساها مأمور شده است كه همراه ما باشد و این كار خیر را برای جلال خدا و به نشانهٔ حُسن نیّت ما انجام دهد.

²⁰We are avoiding this, that any man should blame us concerning this abundance which is administered by us.

²⁰ ما با نظارت بر امر جمع‌آوری و توزیع بخشش‌های سخاوتمندانهٔ شما بسیار مواظب هستیم، مبادا كسی از ما ایراد بگیرد.

²¹Having regard for honorable things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.

²¹ آری، می‌كوشیم نه فقط آنچه را كه در نظر خداوند درست است انجام دهیم، بلكه آنچه را كه مردم نیز می‌پسندند به عمل آوریم.

²²We have sent with them our brother, whom we have many times proved earnest in many things, but now much more earnest, by reason of the great confidence which he has in you.

²² برادر خود را كه بارها او را آزموده و همیشه او را جدّی یافته‌ام با آنان می‌فرستم. او اكنون به‌سبب اطمینان بزرگی كه به شما دارد بیش از پیش مشتاق دیدار شماست.

²³As for Titus, he is my partner and fellow worker for you. As for our brothers, they are the apostles of the assemblies, the glory of Christ.

²³ و امّا تیطُس، او در خدمت شما یار و همكار من است و برادران دیگر هم كه با او می‌آیند نمایندگان كلیساها و مایهٔ جلال مسیح هستند. بنابراین محبّت خود را به ایشان و در ضمن به تمام كلیساها نشان دهید تا همه بدانند تعریفی كه من از شما کرده‌ام، بی‌اساس نبوده است.

²⁴Therefore show the proof of your love to them in front of the assemblies, and of our boasting on your behalf.

²⁴ بنابراین محبّت خود را به ایشان و در ضمن به تمام كلیساها نشان دهید تا همه بدانند تعریفی كه من از شما کرده‌ام، بی‌اساس نبوده است.
