¹In the tenth year, in the tenth month, on the twelfth day of the month, the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

¹ در روزِ دوازدهم ماه دهم از سالِ دهم تبعید ما، خداوند به من فرمود:

²“Son of man, set your face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him and against all Egypt.

² «ای انسان فانی، رو به سوی فرعون کن و علیه او و همهٔ مردم مصر نبوّت کن

³Speak and say, ‘Thus says the Lord Yahweh: “Behold, I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great monster that lies in the midst of his rivers, that has said, ‘My river is my own, and I have made it for myself.’

³ و بگو خداوند متعال چنین می‌فرماید: اینک ای فرعون، من علیه تو هستم. ای هیولای بزرگ که در میان نهرها دراز کشیده‌ای و می‌گویی: 'رود نیل از آن من است و من آن را ساخته‌ام.'

⁴I will put hooks in your jaws, and I will make the fish of your rivers stick to your scales; and I will bring you up out of the midst of your rivers, with all the fish of your rivers which stick to your scales.

⁴ من قلّابها به فک تو خواهم زد و ماهیان نهرهایت را به فلس‌هایت خواهم چسباند، و درحالی‌که همهٔ ماهیان به فلس‌هایت چسبیده‌اند تو را از نهر بیرون خواهم کشید.

⁵I’ll cast you forth into the wilderness, you and all the fish of your rivers. You’ll fall on the open field. You won’t be brought together, nor gathered. I have given you for food to the animals of the earth and to the birds of the sky.

⁵ من تو و همهٔ آن ماهیان را به بیابان خواهم افکند. بدن تو به روی زمین خواهد افتاد و دفن نمی‌شود. من آن را خوراک پرندگان و حیوانات خواهم کرد.

⁶All the inhabitants of Egypt will know that I am Yahweh, because they have been a staff of reed to the house of Israel.

⁶ آنگاه همهٔ مردم مصر خواهند دانست که من خداوند هستم. «اسرائیلی‌ها برای پشتیبانی به تو اتّکاء کردند امّا تو چوبدستی ضعیفی بیش نبودی.

⁷When they took hold of you by your hand, you broke, and tore all their shoulders; and when they leaned on you, you broke, and paralyzed all of their thighs.”

⁷ هنگامی‌که تو را به دست گرفتند، شکستی و شانهٔ ایشان را پاره کردی و هنگامی‌که به تو تکیه دادند، شکستی و کمرهایشان را به لرزه انداختی.

⁸Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: “Behold, I will bring a sword on you, and will cut off man and animal from you.

⁸ پس اکنون من، خداوند متعال به تو می‌گویم: اینک شمشیری خواهم آورد تا مردم و حیوانات تو را نابود کند.

⁹The land of Egypt shall be a desolation and a waste; and they shall know that I am Yahweh. Because he has said, ‘The river is mine, and I have made it;’

⁹ مصر سرزمینی متروک و ویران خواهد شد. آنگاه تو خواهی دانست که من خداوند هستم. «چون گفتی: رود نیل از آن توست و تو آن را ساختی،

¹⁰therefore, behold, I am against you, and against your rivers, and I will make the land of Egypt an utter waste and desolation, from the tower of Seveneh even to the border of Ethiopia.

¹⁰ بنابراین من علیه تو و نهرهایت هستم و سرزمین مصر را از مجدل تا اسوان و تا مرز حبشه کاملاً ویران خواهم ساخت.

¹¹No foot of man shall pass through it, nor foot of animal shall pass through it, neither shall it be inhabited forty years.

¹¹ پای هیچ انسان و حیوانی از آن گذر نخواهد کرد و مدّت چهل سال متروک خواهد بود.

¹²I will make the land of Egypt a desolation in the midst of the countries that are desolate; and her cities among the cities that are laid waste shall be a desolation forty years; and I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries.”

¹² من مصر را ویران‌ترین کشور جهان خواهم ساخت. مدّت چهل سال شهرهای مصر ویران باقی خواهند ماند، ویران‌تر از بدترین شهرهای ویران دیگر. مصریان را آواره خواهم کرد؛ ایشان به هر کشوری خواهند گریخت و با مردمان دیگر زندگی خواهند کرد.»

¹³For thus says the Lord Yahweh: “At the end of forty years will I gather the Egyptians from the peoples where they were scattered;

¹³ خداوند متعال می‌فرماید: «پس از چهل سال مصریان را از میان مللی که پراکنده ساختم، باز خواهم آورد

¹⁴and I will bring back the captivity of Egypt, and will cause them to return into the land of Pathros, into the land of their birth; and they shall be there a base kingdom.

¹⁴ و اجازه می‌دهم که در جنوب مصر، در میهن اصلی خود زیست کنند. ایشان ملّت ناتوانی خواند بود.

¹⁵It shall be the base of the kingdoms; neither shall it any more lift itself up above the nations: and I will diminish them, that they shall no more rule over the nations.

¹⁵ از همهٔ حکومتها ناتوانتر و هرگز بر ملّتهای دیگر فرمانروایی نخواهند کرد. من ایشان را چنان کوچک خواهم کرد که دیگر نتوانند ارادهٔ خود را به دیگران تحمیل کنند.

¹⁶It shall be no more the confidence of the house of Israel, bringing iniquity to memory, when they turn to look after them: and they shall know that I am the Lord Yahweh.”’”

¹⁶ اسرائیل دیگر هرگز برای یاری به ایشان تکیه نخواهد کرد. سرنوشت مصر به اسرائیل یادآوری خواهد کرد که تکیه کردن به آن چقدر نادرست است. آنگاه اسرائیل خواهد دانست که من، خداوند متعال هستم.»

¹⁷It came to pass in the seven and twentieth year, in the first month, in the first day of the month, the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

¹⁷ در روز اول ماه اول از سال بیست و هفتم تبعید ما، خداوند به من فرمود:

¹⁸Son of man, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon caused his army to serve a great service against Tyre: every head was made bald, and every shoulder was worn; yet had he no wages, nor his army, from Tyre, for the service that he had served against it.

¹⁸ «ای انسان فانی، وقتی نبوکدنصر، پادشاه بابل به صور حمله کرد او سربازان خود را مجبور کرد چنان بارهای سنگینی حمل کنند که موی سرشان ساییده شد و کچل شدند و پوست شانه‌های ایشان زخم شد، امّا نه پادشاه و نه سربازان او از این زحمات سودی بردند.

¹⁹Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I will give the land of Egypt to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and he shall carry off her multitude, and take her spoil, and take her prey; and it shall be the wages for his army.

¹⁹ بنابراین من خداوند متعال چنین می‌گویم: من سرزمین مصر را به نبوکدنصر پادشاه خواهم داد. او در ازای مزد ارتش خود همهٔ ثروت مصر را تاراج می‌کند و به غنیمت می‌برد.

²⁰I have given him the land of Egypt as his recompense for which he served, because they worked for me, says the Lord Yahweh.

²⁰ من سرزمین مصر را در ازای مزد کاری که انجام داده به او می‌دهم، زیرا ایشان برای من کار می‌کردند. من، خداوند متعال سخن گفته‌ام. «در آن روز قدرت گذشتهٔ قوم اسرائیل را تجدید می‌کنم و زبان تو را ای حزقیال، گویا می‌سازم تا همه بشنوند و بدانند که من خداوند هستم.»

²¹In that day will I cause a horn to bud forth to the house of Israel, and I will give you the opening of the mouth in their midst; and they shall know that I am Yahweh.

²¹ «در آن روز قدرت گذشتهٔ قوم اسرائیل را تجدید می‌کنم و زبان تو را ای حزقیال، گویا می‌سازم تا همه بشنوند و بدانند که من خداوند هستم.»
