¹It happened in the twelfth year, in the twelfth month, in the first day of the month, that the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

¹ در روز اول ماه دوازدهم از سال دوازدهم تبعید ما، خداوند به من فرمود:

²Son of man, take up a lamentation over Pharaoh king of Egypt, and tell him, You were likened to a young lion of the nations: yet you are as a monster in the seas; and you broke out with your rivers, and troubled the waters with your feet, and fouled their rivers.

² «ای انسان فانی، سوگنامه‌ای برای فرعون، بخوان و به او بگو: تو خود را چون شیری در میان ملّتها می‌دانی امّا تو چون هیولایی در دریا هستی. تو در رودخانه‌های خود حرکت می‌کنی و با پاهایت آبها را حرکت می‌دهی و آنها را آلوده می‌سازی.

³Thus says the Lord Yahweh: I will spread out my net on you with a company of many peoples; and they shall bring you up in my net.

³ در گردهمایی مردم بسیاری، من تور خود را به روی تو می‌اندازم و تو را بالا می‌کشم.

⁴I will leave you on the land, I will cast you forth on the open field, and will cause all the birds of the sky to settle on you, and I will satisfy the animals of the whole earth with you.

⁴ و بر روی زمین خواهم انداخت و همهٔ پرندگان و حیوانات جهان را می‌آورم تا از تو تغدیه کنند.

⁵I will lay your flesh on the mountains, and fill the valleys with your height.

⁵ من کوهها و درّه‌‌ها را با جسد گندیدهٔ تو می‌پوشانم.

⁶I will also water with your blood the land in which you swim, even to the mountains; and the watercourses shall be full of you.

⁶ آن‌قدر خون تو را می‌ریزم تا کوهها را بپوشاند و جویبارها را پُر کند.

⁷When I shall extinguish you, I will cover the heavens, and make its stars dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give its light.

⁷ هنگامی‌که تو را نابود سازم، آسمانها را خواهم پوشانید و ستارگان آنها را تاریک خواهم کرد، خورشید را با ابر می‌پوشانم و ماه، نور خود را نخواهد تابانید.

⁸All the bright lights of the sky will I make dark over you, and set darkness on your land, says the Lord Yahweh.

⁸ همهٔ نورهای درخشان آسمان را بر فراز تو تاریک می‌کنم و سرزمین تو را در ظلمت غوطه‌ور می‌سازم. من، خداوند متعال گفته‌ام.

⁹I will also trouble the hearts of many peoples, when I shall bring your destruction among the nations, into the countries which you have not known.

⁹ «هنگامی‌که تو را به اسارت در میان ملّتها ببرم، کشورهایی که تو آنها را نمی‌شناسی، دلهای مردم بسیاری را آشفته خواهم کرد.

¹⁰Yes, I will make many peoples amazed at you, and their kings shall be horribly afraid for you, when I shall brandish my sword before them; and they shall tremble at every moment, every man for his own life, in the day of your fall.

¹⁰ بسیاری از مردم به‌خاطر حال تو پریشان می‌شوند و پادشاهانشان خواهند لرزید. در روز سرنگونی تو هنگامی‌که شمشیر خود را حرکت دهم، همه به‌خاطر جانشان از ترس خواهند لرزید.»

¹¹For thus says the Lord Yahweh: The sword of the king of Babylon shall come on you.

¹¹ خداوند متعال به فرعون می‌فرماید: «شمشیر پادشاه بابل علیه تو خواهد بود.

¹²By the swords of the mighty will I cause your multitude to fall; the terrible of the nations are they all: and they shall bring to nothing the pride of Egypt, and all its multitude shall be destroyed.

¹² من اجازه خواهم داد که مردمت با شمشیر نیرومندان کشته شوند، کسانی‌که از بدترین ملّتها هستند. ایشان افتخار مصر را ویران خواهند کرد و همهٔ مردم آن نابود خواهند شد.

¹³I will destroy also all its animals from beside many waters; neither shall the foot of man trouble them any more, nor the hoofs of animals trouble them.

¹³ گلّه و رمه‌ات را که در کنار آبهای فروان می‌چرند، نابود می‌کنم و دیگر پای هیچ انسان یا حیوانی آبها را گِل‌آلود نخواهد ساخت.

¹⁴Then will I make their waters clear, and cause their rivers to run like oil, says the Lord Yahweh.

¹⁴ آنگاه آبهایت را تصفیه خواهم کرد و رودهایت را چون روغن جاری خواهم ساخت من، خداوند متعال چنین می‌گویم.

¹⁵When I shall make the land of Egypt desolate and waste, a land destitute of that of which it was full, when I shall strike all those who dwell therein, then shall they know that I am Yahweh.

¹⁵ هنگامی‌که سرزمین مصر را ویران سازم و از هرآنچه در آن است خالی گردد، هنگامی‌که همهٔ ساکنانش را هلاک کنم، آنگاه خواهند دانست که من خداوند هستم.»

¹⁶This is the lamentation with which they shall lament; the daughters of the nations shall lament therewith; over Egypt, and over all her multitude, shall they lament therewith, says the Lord Yahweh.

¹⁶ خداوند متعال می‌فرماید: «این سوگنامه‌ای است که زنان ملّتها برای مصر خواهند خواند و همهٔ مردم مصر آن را خواهند خواند.»

¹⁷It happened also in the twelfth year, in the fifteenth day of the month, that the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

¹⁷ در روز پانزدهم ماه اول از سال دوازدهم تبعید ما، خداوند به من فرمود:

¹⁸Son of man, wail for the multitude of Egypt, and cast them down, even her, and the daughters of the famous nations, to the lower parts of the earth, with those who go down into the pit.

¹⁸ «ای انسان فانی، برای مردم مصر سوگواری کن. ایشان را به همراه دیگر ملل نیرومند به دنیای مردگان بفرست

¹⁹Whom do you pass in beauty? Go down, and be laid with the uncircumcised.

¹⁹ به ایشان بگو: «آیا می‌اندیشید که از همه زیباتر هستید؟ شما به دنیای مردگان فرو خواهید رفت و در کنار نامختونان خواهید افتاد.

²⁰They shall fall in the midst of those who are slain by the sword: she is delivered to the sword; draw her away and all her multitudes.

²⁰ «مردم مصر مثل کسانی‌که با شمشیر کشته شده‌اند، نابود خواهند شد. شمشیری برای کشتن همهٔ ایشان آماده است.

²¹The strong among the mighty shall speak to him out of the midst of Sheol Sheol is the place of the dead. with those who help him: they are gone down, they lie still, even the uncircumcised, slain by the sword.

²¹ بزرگترین قهرمانان و کسانی‌که به همراه مصریان جنگ می‌کردند در دنیای مردگان به ایشان خوش‌آمد خواهند گفت. ایشان فریاد برخواهند آورد که: 'نامختونانی که در نبرد کشته شده‌اند، اینجا پایین آمده‌اند و در اینجا خواهند ماند.'

²²Asshur is there and all her company; her graves are all around her; all of them slain, fallen by the sword;

²² «آشور آنجاست و در گرداگردش گورهای سربازانش که همه در نبرد کشته شده بودند،

²³whose graves are set in the uttermost parts of the pit, and her company is around her grave; all of them slain, fallen by the sword, who caused terror in the land of the living.

²³ و گورهایشان در ژرفترین نقطهٔ دنیای مردگان قرار دارد. همهٔ سربازانش در نبرد کشته شدند و گورهایشان در اطراف اوست. روزی بود که ایشان سرزمین زندگان را به وحشت می‌انداختند.

²⁴There is Elam and all her multitude around her grave; all of them slain, fallen by the sword, who are gone down uncircumcised into the lower parts of the earth, who caused their terror in the land of the living, and have borne their shame with those who go down to the pit.

²⁴ «عیلام نیز آنجاست با گورهای سربازانش که در پیرامون خود، همه در جنگ کشته شده بودند و نامختونان به دنیای مردگان فرو رفتند. در زمان حیات خود وحشت می‌آفریدند امّا اکنون در شرمساری مرده‌اند.

²⁵They have set her a bed in the midst of the slain with all her multitude; her graves are around her; all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword; for their terror was caused in the land of the living, and they have borne their shame with those who go down to the pit: he is put in the midst of those who are slain.

²⁵ عیلام در میان کسانی‌که در جنگ کشته شدند، خوابیده است و گورهای سربازانش در اطرافش هستند. همهٔ نامختونان در جنگ کشته شدند. در زمان حیات وحشت می‌آفریدند، امّا اکنون در شرمساری مرده‌اند.

²⁶There is Meshech, Tubal, and all their multitude; their graves are around them; all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword; for they caused their terror in the land of the living.

²⁶ «ماشک و توبال نیز آنجا هستند و گورهای سربازانش در اطراف او قرار دارند. همه ‌نامختون و در جنگ کشته شده‌اند، امّا روزی برای زندگان وحشت می‌آفریدند.

²⁷They shall not lie with the mighty who are fallen of the uncircumcised, who are gone down to Sheol with their weapons of war, and have laid their swords under their heads, and their iniquities are on their bones; for they were the terror of the mighty in the land of the living.

²⁷ ایشان در کنار مردان قدیم که با ابزار جنگ خود به دنیای مردگان رفتند و شمشیر ایشان در زیر سر و سپرشان بر روی بدن ایشان است، نخوابیده‌اند، زیرا وحشت مردان غیور در دنیای زندگان بود.

²⁸But you shall be broken in the midst of the uncircumcised, and shall lie with those who are slain by the sword.

²⁸ «پس شما مصریان درهم خواهید شکست و در کنار افراد نامختونی که با شمشیر کشته شده‌اند، خواهید افتاد.

²⁹There is Edom, her kings and all her princes, who in their might are laid with those who are slain by the sword: they shall lie with the uncircumcised, and with those who go down to the pit.

²⁹ «اَدوم در آنجاست. پادشاهان و فرمانروایان آن با تمام قدرتشان در کنار کشته‌شدگان با شمشیر خوابیده‌اند، در کنار افراد نامختونی که در دنیای مردگان خواهند افتاد.

³⁰There are the princes of the north, all of them, and all the Sidonians, who are gone down with the slain; in the terror which they caused by their might they are put to shame; and they lie uncircumcised with those who are slain by the sword, and bear their shame with those who go down to the pit.

³⁰ «تمام شاهزادگان شمال و صیدونیان آنجا هستند. زمانی قدرت آنها وحشت ایجاد می‌کرد، امّا اکنون آنها با شرمساری در نامختونی مرده‌اند و همراه با کسانی‌که در جنگ کشته شده‌اند، خواهند افتاد و آنها در شرمساری کسانی‌که به دنیای مردگان رفته‌اند، سهیم‌ می‌شوند.

³¹Pharaoh shall see them, and shall be comforted over all his multitude, even Pharaoh and all his army, slain by the sword, says the Lord Yahweh.

³¹ «من، خداوند متعال می‌گویم: هنگامی‌که فرعون ایشان را ببیند برای قوم خود تسلّی خواهد یافت؛ فرعون و همهٔ ارتش او که با شمشیر کشته شده‌اند. «چون او در دنیای زندگان وحشت برانگیخت، بنابراین فرعون و همهٔ مردمش در کنار افراد نامختونی که با شمشیر کشته شده‌اند، خواهند افتاد.» خداوند چنین سخن گفته است.

³²For I have put his terror in the land of the living; and he shall be laid in the midst of the uncircumcised, with those who are slain by the sword, even Pharaoh and all his multitude, says the Lord Yahweh.

³² «چون او در دنیای زندگان وحشت برانگیخت، بنابراین فرعون و همهٔ مردمش در کنار افراد نامختونی که با شمشیر کشته شده‌اند، خواهند افتاد.» خداوند چنین سخن گفته است.
