¹Moreover the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

¹ خداوند به من فرمود: «ای انسان فانی،

²Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir, and prophesy against it,

² علیه اَدوم نبوّت کن. رو به سوی اَدوم بازگردان و علیه آن نبوّت کن

³and tell it, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I am against you, Mount Seir, and I will stretch out my hand against you, and I will make you a desolation and an astonishment.

³ و به آن بگو خداوند متعال چنین می‌فرماید: «ای اَدوم، من علیه تو هستم، و تو را ویران و متروک خواهم ساخت.

⁴I will lay your cities waste, and you shall be desolate; and you shall know that I am Yahweh.

⁴ شهرهایت را خراب خواهم کرد و تو ویران خواهی بود و خواهی دانست که من خداوند هستم.

⁵Because you have had a perpetual enmity, and have given over the children of Israel to the power of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time of the iniquity of the end;

⁵ «چون دشمنی کهن را ادامه دادی و مردم اسرائیل را در زمان مصیبت و آخرین مجازات به دَم شمشیر سپردی،

⁶therefore, as I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I will prepare you for blood, and blood shall pursue you: since you have not hated blood, therefore blood shall pursue you.

⁶ بنابراین من، خداوند متعال، به حیات خود قسم می‌خورم و می‌گویم: من خدای زنده هستم. مرگ تقدیر توست و تو را از آن گریزی نیست. تو مسبّب کشتاری و این کشتار در پی تو خواهد بود.

⁷Thus will I make Mount Seir an astonishment and a desolation; and I will cut off from it him who passes through and him who returns.

⁷ من اَدوم را ویران و خراب خواهم کرد و کسانی را که در آن رفت و آمد می‌کنند، خواهم کُشت.

⁸I will fill its mountains with its slain: in your hills and in your valleys and in all your watercourses shall they fall who are slain with the sword.

⁸ کوههای تو را از کشته‌شدگان پر می‌کنم و اجساد کسانی‌که در جنگ کشته شده‌اند، درّه‌‌ها و تپّه‌های تو را خواهد پوشاند.

⁹I will make you a perpetual desolation, and your cities shall not be inhabited; and you shall know that I am Yahweh.

⁹ تو را برای همیشه ویران خواهم کرد و دیگر هیچ‌کس در شهرهایت زندگی نخواهد کرد. خواهید دانست که من خداوند هستم.

¹⁰Because you have said, These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess it; whereas Yahweh was there:

¹⁰ «با وجودی که من خداوند، آنجا بودم، گفتی: 'این دو ملّت و دو کشور از آن من هستند و آنها را تصرّف خواهم کرد.'

¹¹therefore, as I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I will do according to your anger, and according to your envy which you have shown out of your hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them, when I shall judge you.

¹¹ بنابراین من، خداوند متعال به حیات خود قسم می‌خورم و می‌گویم: من مطابق خشم، حسادت و نفرتی که به قوم من نشان دادی با تو رفتار خواهم کرد و هنگامی‌که تو را داوری کنم، خویشتن را به تو خواهم شناساند،

¹²You shall know that I, Yahweh, have heard all your insults which you have spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid desolate, they have been given us to devour.

¹² و خواهی دانست که من، خداوند همهٔ سخنان ناسزایی را که علیه کوههای اسرائیل گفته‌ای، شنیدم. چون گفتی: 'ویران گشت و برای بلعیدن به من داده شد.'

¹³You have magnified yourselves against me with your mouth, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard it.

¹³ و با دهانت خود را علیه من بزرگ کردی و علیه من گزافه‌گویی کردی و من آن را شنیدم.»

¹⁴Thus says the Lord Yahweh: When the whole earth rejoices, I will make you desolate.

¹⁴ خداوند متعال چنین می‌فرماید: «من تو را چنان ویران خواهم کرد که همهٔ جهان از سرنگونی تو شادمان شوند، همان‌طور که از ویرانی اسرائیل قوم برگزیدهٔ من خوشحال شدی، ای اَدوم، بله تمام سرزمین اَدوم، مخروبه خواهی شد. آنگاه همه خواهند دانست که من خداوند هستم.»

¹⁵As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I do to you: you shall be desolate, Mount Seir, and all Edom, even all of it; and they shall know that I am Yahweh.

¹⁵ همان‌طور که از ویرانی اسرائیل قوم برگزیدهٔ من خوشحال شدی، ای اَدوم، بله تمام سرزمین اَدوم، مخروبه خواهی شد. آنگاه همه خواهند دانست که من خداوند هستم.»
