1God remembered Noah, all the animals, and all the livestock that were with him in the ship; and God made a wind to pass over the earth. The waters subsided.

خدا نوح و تمام حیواناتی را كه با او در كشتی بودند فراموش نكرده بود. پس بادی بر روی زمین فرستاد و آب رفتهرفته پایین میرفت.
2The deep’s fountains and the sky’s windows were also stopped, and the rain from the sky was restrained.

چشمههای عظیم زیرزمین و روزنههای آسمان بسته شد و دیگر باران نبارید.
3The waters receded from the earth continually. After the end of one hundred fifty days the waters decreased.

آب مرتب از روی زمین كَم میشد و بعد از صد و پنجاه روز فرو نشست.
4The ship rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on Ararat’s mountains.

در روز هفدهم ماه هفتم كشتی بر روی كوههای آرارات نشست.
5The waters receded continually until the tenth month. In the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tops of the mountains were seen.

آب تا ماه دهم رفتهرفته كم میشد تا اینكه در روز اول ماه دهم قلّههای كوهها ظاهر شدند.
6It happened at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ship which he had made,

بعد از چهل روز نوح پنجرهٔ كشتی را باز كرد،
7and he sent out a raven. It went back and forth, until the waters were dried up from the earth.

و كلاغ سیاهی را بیرون فرستاد. كلاغ سیاه بیرون رفت و دیگر برنگشت او همینطور در پرواز بود تا وقتی كه آب فرو نشست.
8He sent out a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from the surface of the ground,

پس نوح كبوتری را بیرون فرستاد تا ببیند كه آیا آب از روی زمین فرو نشسته است یا خیر؟
9but the dove found no place to rest her foot, and she returned to him into the ship; for the waters were on the surface of the whole earth. He put out his hand, and took her, and brought her to him into the ship.

امّا كبوتر جایی برای نشستن پیدا نكرد، چون آب همهجا را گرفته بود. پس به كشتی برگشت و نوح او را گرفت و در كشتی گذاشت.
10He stayed yet another seven days; and again he sent the dove out of the ship.

هفت روز دیگر صبر كرد و دوباره كبوتر را رها كرد.
11The dove came back to him at evening, and, behold, in her mouth was an olive leaf plucked off. So Noah knew that the waters were abated from the earth.

وقت عصر بود كه كبوتر در حالیكه یک برگ زیتون تازه در منقار داشت، به نزد نوح برگشت. نوح فهمید كه آب كم شده است.
12He stayed yet another seven days, and sent out the dove; and she didn’t return to him any more.

بعد از هفت روز دیگر دوباره كبوتر را بیرون فرستاد. این مرتبه كبوتر به كشتی برنگشت.
13It happened in the six hundred first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from the earth. Noah removed the covering of the ship, and looked. He saw that the surface of the ground was dried.

وقتی نوح ششصد و یک ساله بود در روز اول ماه اول، آب روی زمین خشک شد. پس نوح دریچهٔ كشتی را باز كرد و دید زمین در حال خشک شدن است.
14In the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dry.

در روز بیست و هفتم ماه دوم زمین كاملاً خشک بود.
15God spoke to Noah, saying,

خدا به نوح فرمود:
16“Go out of the ship, you, and your wife, and your sons, and your sons’ wives with you.
16
«تو و زنت و پسرهایت و عروسهایت از كشتی بیرون بیایید.
17Bring out with you every living thing that is with you of all flesh, including birds, livestock, and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply on the earth.”

تمام حیواناتی كه نزد تو هستند، تمام پرندگان و چارپایان و خزندگان را هم بیرون بیاور تا در روی زمین پراكنده شوند و به فراوانی بارور و كثیر گردند.»
18Noah went out, with his sons, his wife, and his sons’ wives with him.

پس نوح و زنش و پسرهایش و عروسهایش از كشتی بیرون رفتند.
19Every animal, every creeping thing, and every bird, whatever moves on the earth, after their families, went out of the ship.

تمام چارپایان، پرندگان و خزندگان هم با جفتهای خود از كشتی خارج شدند.
20Noah built an altar to Yahweh, and took of every clean animal, and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

نوح، قربانگاهی برای خداوند بنا كرد و از هر پرنده و هر حیوان پاک یكی را به عنوان قربانی سوختنی بر قربانگاه گذرانید.
21Yahweh smelled the pleasant aroma. Yahweh said in his heart, “I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake, because the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I ever again strike everything living, as I have done.

وقتی بوی خوش قربانی به پیشگاه خداوند رسید، خداوند با خود گفت: «بعد از این، دیگر زمین را بهخاطر انسان لعنت نخواهم كرد. زیرا خیال دل انسان حتّی از زمان كودكی بد است. دیگر همهٔ حیوانات را هلاک نمیكنم، چنانكه كردم.
تا زمانیکه دنیا هست، كشت و زرع، سرما و گرما، زمستان و تابستان و روز و شب هم خواهد بود.»
22While the earth remains, seed time and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”
