¹Now in the things which we are saying, the main point is this. We have such a high priest, who sat down on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,

¹ خلاصه آنچه تا به حال گفته‌ایم این است كه ما چنین كاهنی داریم كه در عالم بالا در دست راست تخت خدای قادر مطلق نشسته است

²a servant of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, not man.

² و به عنوان كاهن اعظم در عبادتگاه و در آن خیمهٔ حقیقی كه به دست خداوند، نه به دست انسان، برپا شده است خدمت می‌کند.

³For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices. Therefore it is necessary that this high priest also have something to offer.

³ همچنین هر كاهن اعظم مأمور است هدایایی تقدیم نموده مراسم قربانی را انجام دهد. بنابراین، كاهن ما نیز باید چیزی برای تقدیم‌ كردن داشته باشد.

⁴For if he were on earth, he would not be a priest at all, seeing there are priests who offer the gifts according to the law;

⁴ اگر عیسی هنوز بر روی زمین می‌بود، به عنوان یک كاهن خدمت نمی‌کرد، زیرا كاهنان دیگری هستند كه هدایایی را كه شریعت مقرّر كرده است، تقدیم كنند.

⁵who serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly things, even as Moses was warned by God when he was about to make the tabernacle, for he said, “See, you shall make everything according to the pattern that was shown to you on the mountain.” Exodus 25:40

⁵ امّا خدمتی كه این كاهنان می‌کنند، فقط نمونه و سایه‌ای از آن خدمت آسمانی و واقعی است. وقتی موسی می‌‌خواست خیمهٔ مقدّس را بسازد، خدا با تأكید به او دستور داده گفت: «دقّت كن كه هر چیزی را بر طبق نمونه‌ای كه بر فراز كوه به تو نشان داده شد، بسازی.»

⁶But now he has obtained a more excellent ministry, by so much as he is also the mediator of a better covenant, which on better promises has been given as law.

⁶ امّا در حقیقت خدمتی كه به عیسی عطا شد از خدمت لاویان به‌ مراتب بهتر است؛ زیرا این پیمانی كه او میان خدا و انسان ایجاد كرده بهتر است، چون این پیمان بر وعده‌های بهتری استوار است.

⁷For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second.

⁷ اگر آن پیمان اوّلیه بدون نقص می‌بود، هیچ نیازی نبود كه پیمان دیگری جای آن را بگیرد،

⁸For finding fault with them, he said, “Behold, the days come,” says the Lord, “that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah;

⁸ امّا خداوند از قوم خود ایراد گرفته و می‌فرماید: «زمانی خواهد آمد كه من پیمان تازه‌ای با قوم اسرائیل و با خاندان یهودا می‌بندم.» خداوند می‌گوید،

⁹not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers, in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; for they didn’t continue in my covenant, and I disregarded them,” says the Lord.

⁹ «این پیمان تازه مانند آن پیمانی نخواهد بود كه با اجداد ایشان بستم، در روزی كه دست آنها را گرفته و به بیرون از مصر هدایتشان نمودم، زیرا آنها طبق آن پیمان عمل نكردند،» و خداوند می‌فرماید: «پس من هم از آنان روی گردان شدم.»

¹⁰“For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel. After those days,” says the Lord; “I will put my laws into their mind, I will also write them on their heart. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

¹⁰ و خداوند می‌فرماید: «این است پیمانی كه پس از آن زمان با قوم اسرائیل خواهم بست: قوانین خود را در افكار آنان خواهم گذاشت و آن را بر دلهایشان خواهم نوشت. من خدای آنان و آنان قوم من خواهند بود.

¹¹They will not teach every man his fellow citizen, TR reads “neighbor” instead of “fellow citizen” and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for all will know me, from their least to their greatest.

¹¹ دیگر احتیاجی نیست كه آنان به همشهریان خود تعلیم دهند یا به یکدیگر بگویند: خدا را بشناس، زیرا همه از بزرگ تا كوچک مرا خواهند شناخت.

¹²For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness. I will remember their sins and lawless deeds no more.” Jeremiah 31:31-34

¹² در مقابل خطاهای آنها بخشنده خواهم بود و دیگر گناهان آنان را هرگز به‌یاد نخواهم آورد.» خدا وقتی دربارهٔ پیمان تازه سخن می‌گوید، پیمان اولی را منسوخ می‌شمارد و هرچه كهنه و فرسوده شود بزودی از بین خواهد رفت.

¹³In that he says, “A new covenant,” he has made the first old. But that which is becoming old and grows aged is near to vanishing away.

¹³ خدا وقتی دربارهٔ پیمان تازه سخن می‌گوید، پیمان اولی را منسوخ می‌شمارد و هرچه كهنه و فرسوده شود بزودی از بین خواهد رفت.
