1Who is this who comes from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this who is glorious in his clothing, marching in the greatness of his strength? “It is I who speak in righteousness, mighty to save.”

این کیست که از جانب شهر بُصره در ایدوم میآید؟ این کیست که با چنین لباس قرمز، با شکوه و جلال و با قدرت و عظمت پیش میرود؟
این خداست -خدای قادر و نجاتدهنده- که میآید تا پیروزی خود را اعلام کند.
2Why are you red in your clothing, and your garments like him who treads in the wine vat?

چرا جامهات مثل لباس کارگری که انگور را برای شراب میفشارد قرمز است؟
3“I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the peoples there was no man with me: yes, I trod them in my anger, and trampled them in my wrath; and their lifeblood is sprinkled on my garments, and I have stained all my clothing.

خداوند در پاسخ میگوید: «من ملّتها را مثل انگور زیر پا لِه کردم، و هیچکس به کمک من نیامد. در خشم خود آنها را لگدمال کردم، و لباسم از خون آنها سرخفام شده است.
4For the day of vengeance was in my heart, and the year of my redeemed has come.

به این نتیجه رسیدم که زمان نجات قوم من و زمان مجازات دشمنان آنها فرا رسیده است.
5I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore my own arm brought salvation to me; and my wrath, it upheld me.

وقتی نگاه کردم و دیدم کسی به یاری من نیامده متعجّب شدم. امّا خشم من مرا قوی ساخت و پیروزی از آن من شد.
6I trod down the peoples in my anger, and made them drunk in my wrath, and I poured out their lifeblood on the earth.”

در خشم خود تمام ملّتها را پایمال و خُرد کردم و خون آنها را بر زمین ریختم.»
7I will make mention of the loving kindnesses of Yahweh and the praises of Yahweh, according to all that Yahweh has bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he has bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his loving kindnesses.

از محبّت بیپایان خداوند سخن میگویم؛
و او را بهخاطر آنچه برای ما انجام داده، سپاس خواهم گفت.
او قوم اسرائیل را بهخاطر رحمت و محبّت پایدار خود به فراوانی برکت داده است.
8For he said, “Surely, they are my people, children who will not deal falsely:” so he was their Savior.

خداوند گفت: «آنها قوم من هستند، آنها مرا فریب نخواهند داد.» و به همین دلیل آنها را از تمام
9In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bore them, and carried them all the days of old.

درد و رنجشان نجات داد. فرشتهای حضور نداشت، آن خود خداوند بود که آنها را نجات داد. محبّت و رحمتش به آنها خلاصی بخشید، همانطور که در گذشته همیشه نگهدار آنها بوده است.
10But they rebelled, and grieved his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he himself fought against them.

امّا آنها برضد او شوریدند و روح مقدّس او را افسرده کردند. به این جهت خداوند با آنها مخالفت کرد و برضد آنها جنگید.
11Then he remembered the days of old, Moses and his people, saying, Where is he who brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? where is he who put his holy Spirit in their midst?

آنگاه آنها گذشته -یعنی ایّام موسی بندهٔ خداوند- را بهخاطر آوردند و پرسیدند: «کجاست خداوند، آن خداوندی که رهبران قوم خودش را در دریا نجات داد؟ کجاست آن خداوندی که روح مقدّس خود را به ایشان داد؟
12who caused his glorious arm to go at the right hand of Moses? who divided the waters before them, to make himself an everlasting name?

کجاست آن خداوند قادری که به وسیلهٔ موسی چنان کارهای بزرگی انجام میداد، دریا را میشکافت و قوم خود را در عمق دریا رهبری میکرد تا نامش جلال ابدی یابد؟»
تحت رهبری خداوند آنها مثل اسبهای وحشی تیزپا بودند و هیچوقت نلغزیدند.
13who led them through the depths, as a horse in the wilderness, so that they didn’t stumble?

روح خداوند به آنها مثل گلّهای در دشتهای سرسبز آرامش عطا فرمود. او قوم خود را رهبری کرد و موجب سرافرازی اسم خود شد.
14As the livestock that go down into the valley, the Spirit of Yahweh caused them to rest; so you led your people, to make yourself a glorious name.

ای خداوند از آسمان -از آن مکان مقدّس و پرجلال خود- برما نظر افکن. کجاست آن توجّه و غیرت تو؟ کجاست قدرت تو؟ کجاست آن محبّت و رحمت تو؟ آیا ما را فراموش کردهای؟
15Look down from heaven, and see from the habitation of your holiness and of your glory: where are your zeal and your mighty acts? the yearning of your heart and your compassion is restrained toward me.

تو پدر ما هستی. اجداد ما، ابراهیم و یعقوب دیگر ما را نمیشناسند، امّا تو ای خداوند پدر ما هستی، کسیکه همیشه ما را نجات داده است.
16For you are our Father, though Abraham doesn’t know us, and Israel does not acknowledge us: you, Yahweh, are our Father; our Redeemer from everlasting is your name.

چرا اجازه میدهی از راه تو منحرف شویم؟ چرا اجازه میدهی، آنقدر خود رأی شویم که از تو روی برگردانیم؟ ای خداوند بهخاطر کسانیکه به تو خدمت میکنند، و بهخاطر قومی که همیشه به تو تعلّق داشتهاند، بازگرد.
17O Yahweh, why do you make us to err from your ways, and harden our heart from your fear? Return for your servants’ sake, the tribes of your inheritance.

ما -قوم مقدّس تو- برای زمانی کوتاه به وسیلهٔ دشمنان تو رانده شده بودیم. آنها معبد مقدّس تو را پایمال کردند.
تو با ما چنان رفتار میکنی که گویی تو هیچوقت حاکم نبودی و ما هیچوقت قوم تو نبودیم.
18Your holy people possessed it but a little while: our adversaries have trodden down your sanctuary.

19We have become as they over whom you never bear rule, as those who were not called by your name.
