¹ “I am the true vine, and my Father is the farmer.

¹ «من تاک حقیقی هستم و پدر من باغبان است.

² Every branch in me that doesn’t bear fruit, he takes away. Every branch that bears fruit, he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.

² هر شاخه‌ای را كه در من ثمر نیاورد می‌برد و هر شاخه‌ای كه ثمر بیاورد آن را پاک می‌سازد تا میوهٔ بیشتری به بار آورد.

³ You are already pruned clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.

³ شما با تعالیمی كه به شما گفتم پاک شده‌اید.

⁴ Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself, unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me.

⁴ در من بمانید و من در شما. همان‌طور كه هیچ شاخه‌ای نمی‌تواند به خودی خود میوه دهد مگر آنکه در تاک بماند، شما نیز نمی‌توانید ثمر بیاورید مگر در من بمانید.

⁵ I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

⁵ «من تاک هستم و شما شاخه‌های آن هستید. هرکه در من بماند و من در او، میوهٔ بسیار می‌آورد چون شما نمی‌توانید جدا از من کاری انجام دهید.

⁶ If a man doesn’t remain in me, he is thrown out as a branch, and is withered; and they gather them, throw them into the fire, and they are burned.

⁶ اگر کسی در من نماند مانند شاخه‌ای به دور افكنده می‌شود و خشک می‌گردد. مردم شاخه‌های خشكیده را جمع می‌کنند و در آتش می‌ریزند و می‌سوزانند.

⁷ If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, you will ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you.

⁷ اگر در من بمانید و سخنان من در شما بماند هرچه می‌خواهید بطلبید كه حاجت شما برآورده می‌شود.

⁸ “In this is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit; and so you will be my disciples.

⁸ جلال پدر من در این است كه شما میوهٔ فراوان بیاورید و به این طریق شاگردان من خواهید بود.

⁹ Even as the Father has loved me, I also have loved you. Remain in my love.

⁹ همان‌طور كه پدر مرا دوست داشته است من هم شما را دوست داشته‌ام. در محبّت من بمانید.

¹⁰ If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and remain in his love.

¹⁰ اگر مطابق احكام من عمل كنید، در محبّت من خواهید ماند، همان‌طور كه من احكام پدر را اطاعت نموده‌ام و در محبّت او ساكن هستم.

¹¹ I have spoken these things to you, that my joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be made full.

¹¹ «این چیزها را به شما گفته‌ام تا شادی من در شما باشد و شادی شما كامل گردد.

¹² “This is my commandment, that you love one another, even as I have loved you.

¹² حكم من این است كه یكدیگر را دوست بدارید، همان‌طور كه من شما را دوست داشتم.

¹³ Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

¹³ محبّتی بزرگتر از این نیست كه کسی جان خود را فدای دوستان خود كند.

¹⁴ You are my friends, if you do whatever I command you.

¹⁴ شما دوستان من هستید اگر احكام مرا انجام دهید.

¹⁵ No longer do I call you servants, for the servant doesn’t know what his lord does. But I have called you friends, for everything that I heard from my Father, I have made known to you.

¹⁵ دیگر شما را بنده نمی‌خوانم زیرا بنده نمی‌داند اربابش چه می‌کند. من شما را دوستان خود خوانده‌ام زیرا هرچه را از پدر خود شنیدم برای شما شرح دادم.

¹⁶ You didn’t choose me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatever you will ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you.

¹⁶ شما مرا برنگزیده‌اید بلكه من شما را برگزیده‌ام و مأمور كرده‌ام كه بروید و میوه بیاورید، میوه‌ای كه دایمی باشد تا هرچه به نام من از پدر بخواهید به شما عطا نماید.

¹⁷ “I command these things to you, that you may love one another.

¹⁷ حكم من برای شما این است كه یكدیگر را دوست بدارید.

¹⁸ If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you.

¹⁸ «اگر جهان از شما نفرت دارد، بدانید كه قبل از شما از من نفرت داشته است.

¹⁹ If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, since I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

¹⁹ اگر شما متعلّق به این جهان بودید جهان متعلّقان خود را دوست می‌داشت، امّا چون شما از این جهان نیستید و من شما را از جهان برگزیده‌ام، به این سبب جهان از شما نفرت دارد.

²⁰ Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his lord.’ John 13:16 If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will keep yours also.

²⁰ آنچه را گفتم به‌خاطر بسپارید: غلام از ارباب خود بزرگتر نیست. اگر به من آزار رسانیدند به شما نیز آزار خواهند رسانید و اگر از تعالیم من پیروی كردند از تعالیم شما نیز پیروی خواهند نمود.

²¹ But all these things will they do to you for my name’s sake, because they don’t know him who sent me.

²¹ چون شما به من تعلّق دارید آنها با شما چنین رفتاری خواهند داشت زیرا فرستندهٔ مرا نمی‌شناسند.

²² If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have had sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin.

²² اگر من نمی‌آمدم و با آنها سخن نمی‌گفتم آنها تقصیری نمی‌داشتند، ولی اكنون دیگر برای گناه خود عذری ندارند.

²³ He who hates me, hates my Father also.

²³ کسی‌که از من متنفّر باشد از پدر من نیز نفرت دارد.

²⁴ If I hadn’t done among them the works which no one else did, they wouldn’t have had sin. But now have they seen and also hated both me and my Father.

²⁴ اگر در میان آنان كارهایی را كه هیچ شخص دیگری قادر به انجام آنها نیست انجام نداده بودم، مقصّر نمی‌بودند، ولی آنها آن كارها را دیده‌اند ولی با وجود این، هم از من و هم از پدر من نفرت دارند.

²⁵ But this happened so that the word may be fulfilled which was written in their law, ‘They hated me without a cause.’ Psalms 35:19; 69:4

²⁵ و به این ترتیب تورات آنها كه می‌گوید: 'بی‌جهت از من متنفّرند' تحقّق می‌باید.

²⁶ “When the Counselor Greek Parakletos: Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, and Comforter. has come, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will testify about me.

²⁶ «امّا وقتی پشتیبان شما كه او را از جانب پدر نزد شما می‌فرستم بیاید یعنی روح راستی كه از پدر صادر می‌گردد، او دربارهٔ من شهادت خواهد داد و شما نیز شاهدان من خواهید بود زیرا از ابتدا با من بوده‌اید.

²⁷ You will also testify, because you have been with me from the beginning.

²⁷ و شما نیز شاهدان من خواهید بود زیرا از ابتدا با من بوده‌اید.
