¹Now Joshua was old and well advanced in years. Yahweh said to him, “You are old and advanced in years, and there remains yet very much land to be possessed.

¹ وقتی‌که یوشع پیر و سالخورده شد، خداوند به او فرمود: «تو حالا پیر و سالخورده شده‌ای و هنوز هم جاهای زیادی برای تصرّف باقیمانده است.

²“This is the land that still remains: all the regions of the Philistines, and all the Geshurites;

² که عبارتند از: تمام سرزمین فلسطینیان، جشوریان

³from the Shihor, which is before Egypt, even to the border of Ekron northward, which is counted as Canaanite; the five lords of the Philistines; the Gazites, and the Ashdodites, the Ashkelonites, the Gittites, and the Ekronites; also the Avvim,

³ عویان از شیحور که در شرق مصر است تا سرحد عقرون در سمت شمال، که اکنون در دست کنعانیان است. پنج حکمران فلسطینی در این پنج شهر حکومت می‌‌کردند: غزه، اشدود، اشقلون، جت و عقرون،

⁴on the south; all the land of the Canaanites, and Mearah that belongs to the Sidonians, to Aphek, to the border of the Amorites;

⁴ در جنوب، تمام سرزمین کنعانیان، از میعاره در صیدون تا افیق و سرحد اموریان،

⁵and the land of the Gebalites, and all Lebanon, toward the sunrise, from Baal Gad under Mount Hermon to the entrance of Hamath;

⁵ سرزمین جبلیان، تمام سرزمین لبنان در شرق، از بعل جاد در جنوب کوه حرمون تا گردنه حمات،

⁶all the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon to Misrephoth Maim, even all the Sidonians; them will I drive out from before the children of Israel: only allocate it to Israel for an inheritance, as I have commanded you.

⁶ ساکنان کوهستان از لبنان تا مصرفوت مایم و مردم صیدون، همهٔ اینها را از سر راه بنی‌اسرائیل بیرون می‌‌رانم. تو باید آن را همان‌طور که گفته‌ام بین نُه طایفهٔ بنی‌اسرائیل و نصف طایفهٔ منسی تقسیم کنی.»

⁷Now therefore divide this land for an inheritance to the nine tribes and the half-tribe of Manasseh.”

⁷ نیم دیگر طایفهٔ منسی و طایفه‌های رئوبین و جاد قبلاً سهم خود را گرفته‌اند که در شرق رود اردن است و موسی، خادم خداوند به آنها داد

⁸With him the Reubenites and the Gadites received their inheritance, which Moses gave them, beyond the Jordan eastward, even as Moses the servant of Yahweh gave them:

⁸ که حدود آن از عروعیر، در کنار وادی ارنون، و از شهری که در وسط این وادی است، تمام بیابان میدبا تا دیبون وسعت داشت.

⁹from Aroer, that is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, and the city that is in the middle of the valley, and all the plain of Medeba to Dibon;

⁹ آن قسمت همچنین شامل تمام شهرهای سیهون، پادشاه اموریان که در حشبون حکومت می‌‌کرد تا به سرحد عمون بود

¹⁰and all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, to the border of the children of Ammon;

¹⁰ و جلعاد، سر زمین جشوریان و معکیان، سراسر کوه حرمون، تمام باشان، تا سلخه هم مربوط به این ناحیه بود.

¹¹and Gilead, and the border of the Geshurites and Maacathites, and all Mount Hermon, and all Bashan to Salecah;

¹¹ تمام سرزمین عوج، پادشاه باشان، که در اشتاروت و ادرعی حکومت می‌‌کرد. او تنها بازماندهٔ رفائیان بود. و موسی آنها را شکست داد و از سرزمینهایشان بیرون راند.

¹²all the kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei (the same was left of the remnant of the Rephaim); for Moses attacked these, and drove them out.

¹² امّا بنی‌اسرائیل جشوریان و معکیان را بیرون نکردند، بلکه این دو قوم هنوز هم تا به امروز در بین بنی‌اسرائیل زندگی می‌‌کنند.

¹³Nevertheless the children of Israel didn’t drive out the Geshurites, nor the Maacathites: but Geshur and Maacath dwell in the midst of Israel to this day.

¹³ موسی به طایفهٔ لاوی سهمی‌ از زمین نداد. طبق دستور خداوند آنها حق داشتند که سهم خود را از قربانی‌های سوختنی که بر قربانگاه برای خداوند تقدیم می‌شد، بگیرند.

¹⁴Only he gave no inheritance to the tribe of Levi. The offerings of Yahweh, the God of Israel, made by fire are his inheritance, as he spoke to him.

¹⁴ وقتی‌که موسی سهم خاندانهای طایفهٔ رئوبین را داد،

¹⁵Moses gave to the tribe of the children of Reuben according to their families.

¹⁵ قلمرو سرزمین آنها از عروعیر، در کنار وادی ارنون، شهر مرکزی وادی و سراسر دشت مجاور میدبا بود.

¹⁶Their border was from Aroer, that is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, and the city that is in the middle of the valley, and all the plain by Medeba;

¹⁶ این ناحیه شامل حشبون و تمام شهرهای آن در دشت، دیبون، باموت بعل، بیت بعل معون،

¹⁷Heshbon, and all its cities that are in the plain; Dibon, Bamoth Baal, Beth Baal Meon,

¹⁷ یهصه، قدیموت، میفاعت،

¹⁸Jahaz, Kedemoth, Mephaath,

¹⁸ قیریتایم، سبمه، سارت شحر در کوهستان در بالای دشت،

¹⁹Kiriathaim, Sibmah, Zereth Shahar in the mount of the valley,

¹⁹ بیت فغور، در دامنهٔ فسجه، بیت‌یشیموت،

²⁰Beth Peor, the slopes of Pisgah, Beth Jeshimoth,

²⁰ سراسر شهرهای دشت، تمام سرزمین سیهون پادشاه اموریان که در حشبون حکومت می‌‌‌کرد و موسی او را با پادشاهان مدیان، یعنی اوی، راقم، صور و رابع، که در آن سرزمین زندگی می‌‌‌کردند، شکست داد.

²¹all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses struck with the chiefs of Midian, Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba, the princes of Sihon, who lived in the land.

²¹ بنی‌اسرائیل، بلعام پسر بعور فال‌بین را، همراه با بقیّهٔ آنها با شمشیر کشت

²²The children of Israel alse killed Balaam also the son of Beor, the soothsayer, with the sword, among the rest of their slain.

²² و رود اردن سرحد غربی طایفهٔ رئوبین بشمار می‌‌رفت. این شهرها و دهات آن سهم طایفهٔ رئوبین بودند که به خاندانهای آنها داده شد.

²³The border of the children of Reuben was the bank of the Jordan. This was the inheritance of the children of Reuben according to their families, the cities and its villages.

²³ موسی سهم طایفهٔ جاد را هم داد.

²⁴Moses gave to the tribe of Gad, to the children of Gad, according to their families.

²⁴ که عبارت بود از یعزیر، همهٔ شهرهای جلعاد، نیمی‌ از سرزمین عمونیان تا عروعیر که در شرق ربه واقع است.

²⁵Their border was Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the children of Ammon, to Aroer that is before Rabbah;

²⁵ و از حشبون تا رامت مصفه و بطونیم، از محنایم تا سرحد دبیر

²⁶and from Heshbon to Ramath Mizpeh, and Betonim; and from Mahanaim to the border of Debir;

²⁶ و در دشت اردن شهرهای بیت هارام، بیت نمره، سُكوّت، صافون و بقیّهٔ سرزمین سیهون، پادشاه حشبون. رود اردن سرحد غربی آن بود که تا دریاچهٔ جلیل ادامه داشت.

²⁷and in the valley, Beth Haram, Beth Nimrah, Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, the Jordan’s bank, to the uttermost part of the sea of Chinnereth beyond the Jordan eastward.

²⁷ این شهرها و روستاهای آن سهم طایفهٔ جاد بودند که به خاندانهای آنها داده شد.

²⁸This is the inheritance of the children of Gad according to their families, the cities and its villages.

²⁸ موسی قسمتی از سرزمین را به نصف طایفهٔ منسی داد.

²⁹Moses gave an inheritance to the half-tribe of Manasseh. It was for the half-tribe of the children of Manasseh according to their families.

²⁹ محدودهٔ سرزمین ایشان از محنایم، تمام باشان، یعنی سراسر سرزمین عوج، پادشاه باشان، و شهرهای یائیر که تماماً شصت شهر بود، وسعت داشت.

³⁰Their border was from Mahanaim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all the towns of Jair, which are in Bashan, sixty cities.

³⁰ نیم جلعاد، عشتاروت، ادرعی و شهرهای عوج در باشان به نصف خاندان ماخیر پسر منسی، داده شد.

³¹Half Gilead, Ashtaroth, and Edrei, the cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, were for the children of Machir the son of Manasseh, even for the half of the children of Machir according to their families.

³¹ این ترتیبی است که موسی سرزمین شرق اریحا و اردن را هنگامی که در موآب بود، تقسیم کرد. امّا موسی به طایفهٔ لاوی سهمی‌ از زمین نداد، بلکه همچنان‌که خداوند فرموده بود، خود خداوند خدای بنی‌اسرائیل سهم آنان بود.

³²These are the inheritances which Moses distributed in the plains of Moab, beyond the Jordan at Jericho, eastward.

³² امّا موسی به طایفهٔ لاوی سهمی‌ از زمین نداد، بلکه همچنان‌که خداوند فرموده بود، خود خداوند خدای بنی‌اسرائیل سهم آنان بود.

³³But to the tribe of Levi Moses gave no inheritance. Yahweh, the God of Israel, is their inheritance, as he spoke to them.
