¹The children of Israel again did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, when Ehud was dead.

¹ بعد از وفات ایهود، مردم اسرائیل باز کارهایی کردند که در نظر خداوند زشت بود.

²Yahweh sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, who reigned in Hazor; the captain of whose army was Sisera, who lived in Harosheth of the Gentiles.

² پس خداوند آنها را به دست یابین، پادشاه کنعان که در حاصور سلطنت می‌کرد، مغلوب ساخت. فرماندهٔ ارتش یابین، سیسرا بود که در حروشت امّتها زندگی می‌کرد.

³The children of Israel cried to Yahweh: for he had nine hundred chariots of iron; and twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of Israel.

³ یابین نهصد ارابهٔ جنگیِ آهنی داشت و بیست سال تمام بر مردم اسرائیل، سخت ظلم می‌کرد. سپس قوم اسرائیل با زاری از خداوند کمک خواستند.

⁴Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lappidoth, she judged Israel at that time.

⁴ در آن زمان نبیّه‌ای به نام، دبوره زن لفیدوت داور قوم اسرائیل بود.

⁵She lived under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.

⁵ او زیر درخت خرمای دبوره، بین رامه و بیت‌ئیل که در کوهستان افرایم بود، می‌نشست و مردم اسرائیل برای حل و فصل دعوای خود پیش او می‌آمدند.

⁶She sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedesh Naphtali, and said to him, “Hasn’t Yahweh, the God of Israel, commanded, ‘Go and draw to Mount Tabor, and take with you ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun?

⁶ او یک روز باراق، پسر ابینوعم را که در قادش، در سرزمین نفتالی و زبولون زندگی می‌کرد پیش خود خواند و به او گفت: «خداوند خدای اسرائیل فرموده است که تو باید ده هزار نفر از طایفهٔ نفتالی را مجهّز کرده با آنها به کوه تابور بروی

⁷I will draw to you, to the river Kishon, Sisera, the captain of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into your hand.’”

⁷ و با سیسرا فرمانده ارتش یابین و با همهٔ ارّابه‌های جنگی و سربازان او بجنگی. خداوند می‌فرماید: من آنها را به وادی قیشون کشانده، به دست تو تسلیم می‌کنم.»

⁸Barak said to her, “If you will go with me, then I will go; but if you will not go with me, I will not go.”

⁸ باراق به او گفت: «اگر تو با من بروی من می‌روم و اگر تو با من نروی من هم نمی‌روم.»

⁹She said, “I will surely go with you: nevertheless, the journey that you take shall not be for your honor; for Yahweh will sell Sisera into the hand of a woman.” Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.

⁹ دبوره جواب داد: «البتّه من با تو می‌روم، امّا یادت باشد که اگر من با تو بروم و سیسرا مغلوب شود، افتخار پیروزی به تو نخواهد رسید، چون سیسرا به دست یک زن سپرده خواهد شد.» پس دبوره همراه باراق به قادش رفت.

¹⁰Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali together to Kedesh; and there went up ten thousand men at his feet: and Deborah went up with him.

¹⁰ باراق مردان طایفه‌های زبولون و نفتالی را که ده هزار نفر بودند مجهّز ساخته، آنها را همراه با دبوره به میدان جنگ رهبری نمود.

¹¹Now Heber the Kenite had separated himself from the Kenites, even from the children of Hobab the brother-in-law of Moses, and had pitched his tent as far as the oak in Zaanannim, which is by Kedesh.

¹¹ در این وقت، حابَر قینی از دیگر قینیان، که از فرزندان حوباب پدر زن موسی بود، جدا شده رفت و در پیش درخت بلوط در صنعایم، در نزدیکی قادش چادر زد.

¹²They told Sisera that Barak the son of Abinoam was gone up to Mount Tabor.

¹² وقتی سیسرا شنید که باراق پسر ابینوعم به کوه تابور رفته است،

¹³Sisera gathered together all his chariots, even nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people who were with him, from Harosheth of the Gentiles, to the river Kishon.

¹³ تمام مردان خود را با نهصد ارابهٔ جنگی آهنی، آماده کرد و از حروشت امّتها به کنار وادی قیشون حرکت داد.

¹⁴Deborah said to Barak, “Go; for this is the day in which Yahweh has delivered Sisera into your hand. Hasn’t Yahweh gone out before you?” So Barak went down from Mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.

¹⁴ دبوره به باراق گفت: «بلند شو! امروز روزی است که خداوند سیسرا را به دست تو تسلیم می‌کند. خداوند قبلاً نقشهٔ شکست او را کشیده است.» پس باراق از کوه پایین آمد و با ده هزار مرد به جنگ سیسرا رفت.

¹⁵Yahweh confused Sisera, and all his chariots, and all his army, with the edge of the sword before Barak; and Sisera alighted from his chariot, and fled away on his feet.

¹⁵ خداوند سیسرا و تمام ارّابه‌های جنگی و لشکر او را به وحشت انداخت. سیسرا از ارابهٔ خود پیاده شد و فرار کرد.

¹⁶But Barak pursued after the chariots, and after the army, to Harosheth of the Gentiles: and all the army of Sisera fell by the edge of the sword; there was not a man left.

¹⁶ باراق ارّابه‌ها و ارتش دشمن را تا حروشت امّتها تعقیب کرد و همهٔ لشکر سیسرا با شمشیر به قتل رسیدند و یک نفر هم زنده نماند.

¹⁷However Sisera fled away on his feet to the tent of Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite; for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.

¹⁷ سیسرا پای پیاده فرار کرد و به چادر یاعیل، زن حابر قینی پناه برد، زیرا بین یابین، پادشاه حاصور و خاندان حابر قینی، رابطهٔ دوستی برقرار بود.

¹⁸Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said to him, “Turn in, my lord, turn in to me; don’t be afraid.” He came in to her into the tent, and she covered him with a rug.

¹⁸ یاعیل به استقبال سیسرا بیرون آمد و به او گفت: «بیا آقا، داخل شو، نترس. در اینجا در کنار ما خطری برایت نیست.» پس سیسرا با او به داخل چادر رفت. یاعیل او را با لحافی پوشاند.

¹⁹He said to her, “Please give me a little water to drink; for I am thirsty.” She opened a bottle of milk, and gave him drink, and covered him.

¹⁹ سیسرا به یاعیل گفت: «کمی آب بده که تشنه هستم.» یاعیل یک مشک شیر را باز کرد و به او یک لیوان شیر داد و دوباره او را با لحاف پوشاند.

²⁰He said to her, “Stand in the door of the tent, and it shall be, when any man comes and inquires of you, and says, ‘Is there any man here?’ that you shall say, ‘No.’”

²⁰ سیسرا به یاعیل گفت: «برو جلوی دروازهٔ چادر بایست. اگر کسی آمد و پرسید که آیا کسی در چادر است؟ بگو خیر.»

²¹Then Jael Heber’s wife took a tent peg, and took a hammer in her hand, and went softly to him, and struck the pin into his temples, and it pierced through into the ground; for he was in a deep sleep; so he swooned and died.

²¹ امّا یاعیل یکی از میخهای چادر را با یک چکش گرفت و آهسته پیش او رفت و میخ را به شقیقه‌اش کوفت که سر آن به زمین فرورفت و سیسرا جابه‌جا مُرد، چون از فرط خستگی به خواب سنگینی رفته بود.

²²Behold, as Barak pursued Sisera, Jael came out to meet him, and said to him, “Come, and I will show you the man whom you seek.” He came to her; and behold, Sisera lay dead, and the tent peg was in his temples.

²² وقتی باراق به دنبال سیسرا آمد، یاعیل به استقبال او بیرون رفت و به او گفت: «بیا شخصی را که در جستجویش بودی، به تو نشان بدهم.» باراق داخل چادر شد و سیسرا را، درحالی‌که میخ چادر به شقیقه‌اش فرورفته بود، مُرده یافت.

²³So God subdued on that day Jabin the king of Canaan before the children of Israel.

²³ بنابراین خداوند در همان روز یابین، پادشاه کنعان را به دست مردم اسرائیل شکست داد. از آن روز به بعد، قوم اسرائیل از یابین قویتر و قویتر می‌شدند تا اینکه او را بکلّی نابود کردند.

²⁴The hand of the children of Israel prevailed more and more against Jabin the king of Canaan, until they had destroyed Jabin king of Canaan.

²⁴ از آن روز به بعد، قوم اسرائیل از یابین قویتر و قویتر می‌شدند تا اینکه او را بکلّی نابود کردند.
