¹Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service.

¹ بنابراین ای دوستان من، با توجّه به این رحمت‌‌های الهی، از شما در خواست می‌کنم بدنهای خود را به عنوان قربانی زنده و مقدّس كه پسندیدهٔ خداست، به او تقدیم كنید. عبادت روحانی و معقول شما همین است.

²Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God.

² هم‌شكل این جهان نشوید بلكه به ‌وسیلهٔ تجدید افكار، وجود شما تغییر شكل یابد تا بتوانید ارادهٔ خدا را تشخیص بدهید و آنچه را كه مفید و پسندیده و كامل است، بشناسید.

³For I say, through the grace that was given me, to every man who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think reasonably, as God has apportioned to each person a measure of faith.

³ من به عنوان کسی‌که فیض خدا نصیبش شده است، به همهٔ شما می‌گویم دربارهٔ خود افكار اغراق‌آمیز نداشته باشید؛ بلكه به نسبت ایمانی كه خدا به هر یک از شما داده است، خود را با اعتدال بسنجید.

⁴For even as we have many members in one body, and all the members don’t have the same function,

⁴ همان‌طور كه در یک بدن اعضای مختلف هست و تمام اعضا یک وظیفه ندارند،

⁵so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.

⁵ ما نیز اگرچه بسیاریم، در اتّحاد با مسیح، همهٔ ما یک بدن را تشكیل می‌دهیم و فرداًفرد نسبت به هم اعضای یكدیگریم.

⁶Having gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us, if prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of our faith;

⁶ بنابراین ما باید عطایای مختلفی را كه خدا بر طبق فیض خود به ما داده است بكار ببریم: اگر عطیهٔ ما اعلام كلام خداست، باید آن را به فراخور ایمانی كه داریم انجام دهیم.

⁷or service, let us give ourselves to service; or he who teaches, to his teaching;

⁷ اگر خدمت كردن است، باید خدمت كنیم. اگر تعلیم دادن است، باید تعلیم بدهیم.

⁸or he who exhorts, to his exhorting: he who gives, let him do it with liberality; he who rules, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

⁸ اگر تشویق دیگران است، باید چنان كنیم. مرد بخشنده باید با سخاوت و مدیر، باید پركار باشد و شخص مهربان با خوشی خدمت خود را انجام دهد.

⁹Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil. Cling to that which is good.

⁹ محبّت شما حقیقی و صمیمی باشد. از بدی بگریزید و به نیكی بچسبید.

¹⁰In love of the brothers be tenderly affectionate one to another; in honor preferring one another;

¹⁰ یكدیگر را با محبّت مسیحایی دوست بدارید و هرکس به دیگری بیشتر از خود احترام نماید.

¹¹not lagging in diligence; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;

¹¹ با كوشش خستگی ناپذیر و با شوق و ذوق، خدا را خدمت كنید.

¹²rejoicing in hope; enduring in troubles; continuing steadfastly in prayer;

¹² امیدتان مایهٔ شادی شما باشد و در رنج و مصیبت صابر باشید و از دعا كردن خسته نشوید.

¹³contributing to the needs of the saints; given to hospitality.

¹³ در رفع احتیاجات مقدّسین شركت نمایید و همیشه مهمان‌‌نواز باشید.

¹⁴Bless those who persecute you; bless, and don’t curse.

¹⁴ بركت خدا را برای آنانی كه به شما جفا می‌رسانند بخواهید، برای آنان طلب بركت كنید، نه لعنت.

¹⁵Rejoice with those who rejoice. Weep with those who weep.

¹⁵ با خوشحالان خوشحالی كنید و با ماتمیان ماتم نمایید.

¹⁶Be of the same mind one toward another. Don’t set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Don’t be wise in your own conceits.

¹⁶ تبعیض قایل نشوید، مغرور نباشید و از معاشرت با حقیران خودداری نكنید و خود را از دیگران داناتر نشمارید.

¹⁷Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men.

¹⁷ به هیچ‌کس به عوض بدی، بدی نکنید. مواظب باشید كه تمام كارهای شما در پیش مردم نیكو باشد.

¹⁸If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men.

¹⁸ حتّی‌الامكان تا آنجا كه مربوط به شماست با همهٔ مردم در صلح و صفا زندگی كنید.

¹⁹Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, “Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.” Deuteronomy 32:35

¹⁹ ای دوستان عزیز، به هیچ وجه انتقام خود را نگیرید، بلكه آن را به مكافات الهی واگذار كنید، زیرا کتاب‌مقدّس می‌فرماید: خداوند می‌گوید: «من مجازات می‌کنم و من جزا خواهم داد.

²⁰Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head.” Proverbs 25:21-22

²⁰ بلكه اگر دشمن تو گرسنه است او را سیر كن و اگر تشنه است به او آب بده؛ زیرا این کار تو او را شرمنده می‌سازد.» مغلوب بدی نشوید، بلكه بدی را با خوبی مغلوب سازید.

²¹Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
