¹Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and don’t be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

²Behold, I, Paul, tell you that if you receive circumcision, Christ will profit you nothing.

³Yes, I testify again to every man who receives circumcision, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.

³E de novo testifico a todo homem que se deixa circuncidar, que está obrigado a guardar toda a lei.

⁴You are alienated from Christ, you who desire to be justified by the law. You have fallen away from grace.

⁴Separados estais de Cristo, vós os que vos justificais pela lei; da graça decaístes.

⁵For we, through the Spirit, by faith wait for the hope of righteousness.

⁵Nós, entretanto, pelo Espírito aguardamos a esperança da justiça que provém da fé.

⁶For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision amounts to anything, nor uncircumcision, but faith working through love.

⁶Porque em Cristo Jesus nem a circuncisão nem a incircuncisão vale coisa alguma; mas sim a fé que opera pelo amor.

⁷You were running well! Who interfered with you that you should not obey the truth?

⁷Corríeis bem; quem vos impediu de obedecer � verdade?

⁸This persuasion is not from him who calls you.

⁸Esta persuasão não vem daquele que vos chama.

⁹A little yeast grows through the whole lump.

⁹Um pouco de fermento leveda a massa toda.

¹⁰I have confidence toward you in the Lord that you will think no other way. But he who troubles you will bear his judgment, whoever he is.

¹⁰Confio de vós, no Senhor, que de outro modo não haveis de pensar; mas aquele que vos perturba, seja quem for, sofrerá a condenação.

¹¹But I, brothers, if I still preach circumcision, why am I still persecuted? Then the stumbling block of the cross has been removed.

¹¹Eu, porém, irmãos, se é que prego ainda a circuncisão, por que ainda sou perseguido? Nesse caso o escândalo da cruz estaria aniquilado.

¹²I wish that those who disturb you would cut themselves off.

¹²Oxalá se mutilassem aqueles que vos andam inquietando.

¹³For you, brothers, were called for freedom. Only don’t use your freedom for gain to the flesh, but through love be servants to one another.

¹³Porque vós, irmãos, fostes chamados � liberdade. Mas não useis da liberdade para dar ocasião � carne, antes pelo amor servi-vos uns aos outros.

¹⁴For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Leviticus 19:18

¹⁴Pois toda a lei se cumpre numa só palavra, a saber: Amarás ao teu próximo como a ti mesmo.

¹⁵But if you bite and devour one another, be careful that you don’t consume one another.

¹⁵Se vós, porém, vos mordeis e devorais uns aos outros, vede não vos consumais uns aos outros.

¹⁶But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh.

¹⁶Digo, porém: Andai pelo Espírito, e não haveis de cumprir a cobiça da carne.

¹⁷For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, that you may not do the things that you desire.

¹⁷Porque a carne luta contra o Espírito, e o Espírito contra a carne; e estes se opõem um ao outro, para que não façais o que quereis.

¹⁸But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

¹⁸Mas, se sois guiados pelo Espírito, não estais debaixo da lei.

¹⁹Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness,

¹⁹Ora, as obras da carne são manifestas, as quais são: a prostituição, a impureza, a lascívia,

²⁰idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies,

²⁰a idolatria, a feitiçaria, as inimizades, as contendas, os ciúmes, as iras, as facções, as dissensões, os partidos,

²¹envyings, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

²¹as invejas, as bebedices, as orgias, e coisas semelhantes a estas, contra as quais vos previno, como já antes vos preveni, que os que tais coisas praticam não herdarão o reino de Deus.

²²But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, or, faithfulness

²²Mas o fruto do Espírito é: o amor, o gozo, a paz, a longanimidade, a benignidade, a bondade, a fidelidade.

²³gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

²³a mansidão, o domínio próprio; contra estas coisas não há lei.

²⁴Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.

²⁴E os que são de Cristo Jesus crucificaram a carne com as suas paixões e concupiscências.

²⁵If we live by the Spirit, let’s also walk by the Spirit.

²⁵Se vivemos pelo Espírito, andemos também pelo Espírito.

²⁶Let’s not become conceited, provoking one another, and envying one another.

²⁶Não nos tornemos vangloriosos, provocando-nos uns aos outros, invejando-nos uns aos outros.
