¹Foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you not to obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was openly set forth among you as crucified?

¹Ó, nerozumní Galaťania, kto vás tak omámil, aby ste neboli poslušní pravde, ktorým bol Ježiš Kristus prv napísaný pred očami jako medzi vami ukrižovaný?

²I just want to learn this from you. Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith?

²Lebo to by som chcel zvedieť od vás, či zo skutkov zákona ste dostali Ducha či z počutia viery?

³Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now completed in the flesh?

³Či ste tak nerozumní? Započnúc Duchom teraz telom dokonávate?

⁴Did you suffer so many things in vain, if it is indeed in vain?

⁴Či ste tak mnoho nadarmo trpeli? Akže aj na nadarmo!

⁵He therefore who supplies the Spirit to you, and works miracles among you, does he do it by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith?

⁵Nuž teda ten, ktorý vám dáva Ducha a činí medzi vami divy, či to činí zo skutkov zákona a či z počutia viery?

⁶Even as Abraham “believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness.”

⁶Tak ako Abrahám uveril Bohu, a počítalo sa mu to za spravedlivosť.

⁷Know therefore that those who are of faith, the same are children of Abraham.

⁷A tedy vedzte, že tí, ktorí sú z viery, sú synmi Abrahámovými.

⁸The Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the Good News beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you all the nations will be blessed.” Genesis 12:3; 18:18; 22:18

⁸A Písmo predvidiac, že Bôh z viery ospravedlňuje pohanov, predzvestovalo Abrahámovi: Požehnané budú v tebe všetky národy.

⁹So then, those who are of faith are blessed with the faithful Abraham.

⁹A tak teda tých, ktorí sú z viery, žehná Bôh s veriacim Abrahámom.

¹⁰For as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse. For it is written, “Cursed is everyone who doesn’t continue in all things that are written in the book of the law, to do them.” Deuteronomy 27:26

¹⁰Lebo všetci, koľko ich len je zo skutkov zákona, sú pod zlorečenstvom. Lebo je napísané, že zlorečený je každý, kto nezotrváva vo všetkom, čo je napísané v knihe zákona, aby to činil.

¹¹Now that no man is justified by the law before God is evident, for, “The righteous will live by faith.” Habakkuk 2:4

¹¹No, že zákonom nebol a nebude nikto ospravedlnený u Boha, je zrejmé, pretože spravedlivý bude žiť z viery.

¹²The law is not of faith, but, “The man who does them will live by them.” Leviticus 18:5

¹²A zákon nie je z viery, ale vraj: Človek, ktorý to všetko učinil, bude tým žiť.

¹³Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree,” Deuteronomy 21:23

¹³Kristus nás vykúpil zpod zlorečenstva zákona tým, že sám sa stal za nás zlorečenstvom, lebo je napísané: Zlorečený každý, kto visí na dreve,

¹⁴that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Christ Jesus; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

¹⁴aby na pohanov prešlo v Kristu Ježišovi požehnanie Abrahámovo, aby sme dostali zasľúbenie Ducha skrze vieru.

¹⁵Brothers, speaking of human terms, though it is only a man’s covenant, yet when it has been confirmed, no one makes it void, or adds to it.

¹⁵Bratia, po ľudsky hovorím: Už uprávoplatnenej smluvy človeka nikto neruší alebo ani k nej nepridáva ničoho.

¹⁶Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He doesn’t say, “To seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “To your seed,” Genesis 12:7; 13:15; 24:7 which is Christ.

¹⁶A zasľúbenia boly povedané Abrahámovi a jeho semenu. Nehovorí: I semenám, ako keby ich bolo mnoho, ale hovorí jako o jednom: I tvojmu semenu, ktorým je Kristus.

¹⁷Now I say this. A covenant confirmed beforehand by God in Christ, the law, which came four hundred thirty years after, does not annul, so as to make the promise of no effect.

¹⁷Ale to hovorím: Smluvy, predtým uprávoplatnenej Bohom, vzťahujúcej sa na Krista, nezneplatňuje zákon, vzniknuvší po štyristo aj tridsiatich rokoch, tak aby zrušil zasľúbenie.

¹⁸For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no more of promise; but God has granted it to Abraham by promise.

¹⁸Lebo ak je dedičstvo za zákona, potom už nie viacej zo zasľúbenia. No, Abrahámovi daroval Bôh z milosti skrze zasľúbenie.

¹⁹What then is the law? It was added because of transgressions, until the seed should come to whom the promise has been made. It was ordained through angels by the hand of a mediator.

¹⁹Tak čo tedy zákon? Bol pridaný pre prestúpenia, dokiaľ by neprišlo semä, ktorému bolo dané zasľúbenie, a bol nariadený skrze anjelov, rukou prostredníka.

²⁰Now a mediator is not between one, but God is one.

²⁰A prostredník nie je prostredníkom jedného, ale Bôh je jeden.

²¹Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could make alive, most certainly righteousness would have been of the law.

²¹Tak tedy je zákon proti zasľúbeniam Božím? Nech sa nestane! Lebo keby bol býval daný zákon, ktorý by bol mohol oživiť, vtedy by skutočne bola spravedlivosť bývala zo zákona.

²²But the Scriptures imprisoned all things under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.

²²Ale Písmo zavrelo všetko pod hriech, aby zasľúbenie z viery Ježiša Krista bolo dané veriacim.

²³But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the law, confined for the faith which should afterwards be revealed.

²³Ale prv, ako prišla viera, boli sme strážení pod zákonom, zavrení s určením pre vieru, ktorá mala byť zjavená,

²⁴So that the law has become our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

²⁴takže zákon bol naším pestúnom, vedúcim nás ku Kristovi, aby sme boli ospravedlnení z viery

²⁵But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.

²⁵Ale odkedy prišla viera, nie sme viac pod pestúnom.

²⁶For you are all children of God, through faith in Christ Jesus.

²⁶Lebo všetci sme synmi Božími skrze vieru v Kristu Ježišovi.

²⁷For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

²⁷Lebo všetci, ktorí ste pokrstení v Krista, Krista ste obliekli.

²⁸There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

²⁸Niet Žida ani Gréka; niet sluhu ani slobodného; niet muža ani ženy, lebo vy všetci ste jedno v Kristu Ježišovi.

²⁹If you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed and heirs according to promise.

²⁹A jestli ste vy Kristovi, tedy ste semenom Abrahámovým a podľa zasľúbenia dedičmi.
