1But there shall be no more gloom for her who was in anguish. In the former time, he brought into contempt the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali; but in the latter time he has made it glorious, by the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations.
1Lebo niet únavy tomu, ktorý jej, pôsobí úzkosť. Tam prvého času ľahko doložil svoju ruku na zem Zabulona a na zem Naftaliho, ale posledného ťažko doloží, na cestu k moru za Jordánom, na Galileu pohanov.
2The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light. Those who lived in the land of the shadow of death, on them the light has shined.
2Ľud, ktorý chodil vo tme, uzrie veliké svetlo, a nad tými, ktorí bývali v zemi tône smrti, zaskveje sa svetlo.
3You have multiplied the nation. You have increased their joy. They rejoice before you according to the joy in harvest, as men rejoice when they divide the spoil.
3Rozmnožil si národ, ale si nezveličil radosti. Avšak radovať sa budú pred tebou, jako sa radujú v žatve, jako plesajú, keď delia korisť;
4For the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, you have broken as in the day of Midian.
4lebo polámeš jarmo jeho bremena i prút jeho pleca, palicu jeho pohoniča jako v deň Madiana.
5For all the armor of the armed man in the noisy battle, and the garments rolled in blood, will be for burning, fuel for the fire.
5Lebo každá zbraň ozbrojenca, používaná s hrmotom, i každé rúcho, pováľané v krvi, bude na spálenie, za pokrm ohňu.
6For to us a child is born. To us a son is given; and the government will be on his shoulders. His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
6Lebo dieťa sa nám narodilo, syn nám je daný, a kniežatstvo bude na jeho pleci, a nazovú jeho meno: Predivný, Radca, Silný Bôh, Udatný Hrdina, Otec Večnosti, Knieža Pokoja.
7Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, on the throne of David, and on his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from that time on, even forever. The zeal of Yahweh of Armies will perform this.
7Množiteľovi toho kniežatstva a pokoju nebude konca. Sedieť bude na tróne Dávidovom a bude panovať nad jeho kráľovstvom, aby ho pevne postavil a založil na pevný základ súdom a spravedlivosťou odteraz až na veky. Horlivosť Hospodina Zástupov to učiní.
8The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it falls on Israel.

11Ale Hospodin povýši protivníkov Recínových nad neho a jeho nepriateľov podpichne,
12The Syrians in front, and the Philistines behind; and they will devour Israel with open mouth. For all this, his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
12Sýrov odpredu a Filištínov odzadu, a budú žrať Izraela celými ústami, ale ani pri tom pri všetkom neodvráti sa jeho hnev, ale ešte vždy bude jeho ruka vystretá.
13Yet the people have not turned to him who struck them, neither have they sought Yahweh of Armies.
13Avšak ľud sa jednako len nenavracia k tomu, ktorý ho bije, a Hospodina Zástupov nehľadajú.
14Therefore Yahweh will cut off from Israel head and tail, palm branch and reed, in one day.
14Preto odtne Hospodin od Izraela hlavu i chvost, palmovú vetev i siť, a to jedného dňa.
15The elder and the honorable man is the head, and the prophet who teaches lies is the tail.
15Starec a vážený človek sú tou hlavou; a prorok, ktorý vyučuje lži, je chvostom.
16For those who lead this people lead them astray; and those who are led by them are destroyed.
16A vodcovia tohoto ľudu stali sa zvodcami, a tí z neho, ktorí sú vedení, budú pohltení.
17Therefore the Lord will not rejoice over their young men, neither will he have compassion on their fatherless and widows; for everyone is profane and an evildoer, and every mouth speaks folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
17Preto sa Pán nebude radovať jeho mládencom a nad jeho sirotami a nad jeho vdovami sa nezľutuje, lebo všetci, koľko ich je, sú pokrytci a zločinci, a každé ústa hovoria bláznovstvo. Pre to pre všetko sa neodvráti jeho hnev, ale ešte vždy bude jeho ruka vystretá.
18For wickedness burns like a fire. It devours the briers and thorns; yes, it kindles in the thickets of the forest, and they roll upward in a column of smoke.
18Lebo bezbožnosť bude horieť ako oheň: zožerie tŕnie a bodľač a zapáli aj húšťavy lesa, a budú sa valiť hore mohutným stĺpom dymu.
19Through the wrath of Yahweh of Armies, the land is burnt up; and the people are the fuel for the fire. No one spares his brother.
19Pre veľký hnev Hospodina Zástupov zatmie sa zem, a ľud bude jako potrava ohňa; nikto nebude šetriť ani svojho brata.
20One will devour on the right hand, and be hungry; and he will eat on the left hand, and they will not be satisfied. Everyone will eat the flesh of his own arm:
20Odreže na pravej strane, a bude lačný; bude žrať na ľavej, ale nenasýtia sa; každý z nich bude žrať mäso svojho vlastného ramena,
21Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim, Manasseh; and they together shall be against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
21Manasses bude žrať Efraima a Efraim Manassesa, a obaja spolu sa vrhnú na Júdu. Pri tom pri všetkom neodvráti sa jeho hnev, ale ešte vždy bude jeho ruka vystretá.
