1The priests the Levites, all the tribe of Levi, shall have no portion nor inheritance with Israel: they shall eat the offerings of Yahweh made by fire, and his inheritance.
1Duhovniki, leviti, ves Levijev rod, naj ne imajo deleža, ne dediščine z Izraelom vred; uživajo naj ognjene daritve GOSPODOVE in njegov delež.
2They shall have no inheritance among their brothers: Yahweh is their inheritance, as he has spoken to them.
2Ali dediščine med svojimi brati naj ne imajo; GOSPOD je njih dediščina, kakor jim je govoril.
3This shall be the priests’ due from the people, from those who offer a sacrifice, whether it be ox or sheep, that they shall give to the priest the shoulder, and the two cheeks, and the maw.
3To pa je določeno duhovniku, da dobi od ljudstva, od tistih, ki prinašajo daritev, bodisi vol ali ovca: naj dado duhovniku pleče, obe čeljusti in želodec.
4The first fruits of your grain, of your new wine, and of your oil, and the first of the fleece of your sheep, you shall give him.
4Prvine žita, vina in olja svojega, prvine od ovčje striže svoje mu daj.
5For Yahweh your God has chosen him out of all your tribes, to stand to minister in the name of Yahweh, him and his sons for ever.
5Zakaj njega je izvolil GOSPOD, tvoj Bog, izmed vseh tvojih rodov, da stoji pri svetišču, opravljaje službo v imenu GOSPODOVEM, on in njegovi sinovi vse dni.
6If a Levite comes from any of your gates out of all Israel, where he lives as a foreigner, and comes with all the desire of his soul to the place which Yahweh shall choose;
6Ko pa pride levit iz kateregakoli tvojih mest po vsem Izraelu, kjer gostuje, in pride, ker mu duša močno hrepeni, na mesto, ki si ga izvoli GOSPOD,
7then he shall minister in the name of Yahweh his God, as all his brothers the Levites do, who stand there before Yahweh.
7in bo stregel v imenu GOSPODA, svojega Boga, kakor vsi njegovi bratje leviti, ki stoje ondi pred GOSPODOM:
8They shall have like portions to eat, besides that which comes of the sale of his patrimony.
8enake obroke naj jedo, razen tega naj ima, kar proda dednih stvari svojih očetov.
9When you have come into the land which Yahweh your God gives you, you shall not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.
9Ko prideš v deželo, ki ti jo daje GOSPOD, tvoj Bog, ne uči se posnemati gnusob tistih poganskih narodov.
10There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer,
10Naj ne bo med vami nikogar, ki bi peljal svojega sina ali svojo hčer skozi ogenj, ne nikogar, ki vedežuje, ali tolmači znamenja, ali vražari, ali čaruje,
11or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
11ne nobenega zaklinjalca, ne nikogar, ki se posvetuje z duhom pokojnih ali z vedežnim duhom ali izprašuje mrtve.
12For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh: and because of these abominations Yahweh your God does drive them out from before you.
12Zakaj gnusoba je GOSPODU, kdorkoli dela kaj takega, in zaradi takih gnusob izganja GOSPOD, tvoj Bog, one pred vami.
13You shall be perfect with Yahweh your God.
13Ti pa bodi popoln pri GOSPODU, Bogu svojem.
14For these nations, that you shall dispossess, listen to those who practice sorcery, and to diviners; but as for you, Yahweh your God has not allowed you so to do.
14Zakaj ti narodi, ki jih preženeš, poslušajo tolmače znamenj in vedeže; tebi pa ne dovoljuje GOSPOD, tvoj Bog, tako delati.
15Yahweh your God will raise up to you a prophet from the midst of you, of your brothers, like me. You shall listen to him.
15Proroka izmed tebe, iz bratov tvojih, kakor sem jaz, ti obudi GOSPOD, tvoj Bog: njega poslušajte;
16This is according to all that you desired of Yahweh your God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, “Let me not hear again the voice of Yahweh my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I not die.”
16prav kakor si prosil GOSPODA, svojega Boga, na Horebu, v dan zbora, govoreč: Daj, da ne slišim več glasu GOSPODA, svojega Boga, in ne vidim tega ognja prevelikega, da ne umrjem.
17Yahweh said to me, “They have well said that which they have spoken.
17In GOSPOD mi je rekel: To so prav govorili.
18I will raise them up a prophet from among their brothers, like you; and I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I shall command him.
18Hočem jim obuditi proroka izmed njih bratov, kakor si ti, in denem svoje besede v njegova usta, in govoril jim bo vse, karkoli mu zapovem.
19It shall happen, that whoever will not listen to my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.
19In kdorkoli ne bo poslušal mojih besed, ki jih bo govoril v mojem imenu, jaz ga bom za to kaznoval.
20But the prophet, who shall speak a word presumptuously in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who shall speak in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.”
20Ali prorok, ki se prevzame govoriti v mojem imenu besedo, ki mu je nisem ukazal govoriti, ali ki bo govoril v imenu drugih bogov, ta prorok naj umrje.
21If you say in your heart, “How shall we know the word which Yahweh has not spoken?”
21In ako boš vprašal v srcu svojem: Kako naj spoznamo besedo, ki je ni govoril GOSPOD?vedi: Ko prorok govori v imenu GOSPODOVEM, pa se ne izpolni njegova beseda in ne pride tisto, to je beseda, ki je ni govoril GOSPOD. V prevzetnosti svoji jo je govoril prorok, ne boj se ga!
22when a prophet speaks in the name of Yahweh, if the thing doesn’t follow, nor happen, that is the thing which Yahweh has not spoken: the prophet has spoken it presumptuously, you shall not be afraid of him.
22vedi: Ko prorok govori v imenu GOSPODOVEM, pa se ne izpolni njegova beseda in ne pride tisto, to je beseda, ki je ni govoril GOSPOD. V prevzetnosti svoji jo je govoril prorok, ne boj se ga!
