¹I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and behold, a man with a measuring line in his hand.

⁴and said to him, “Run, speak to this young man, saying, ‘Jerusalem will be inhabited as villages without walls, because of the multitude of men and livestock in it.

⁴In mu reče: Teci, govóri temu mladeniču in véli: V Jeruzalemu bodo stanovali brez obzidja zavoljo množine ljudi in živine, ki bode v njem.

⁵For I,’ says Yahweh, ‘will be to her a wall of fire around it, and I will be the glory in the midst of her.

⁵Jaz pa, govori GOSPOD, mu bodem ognjen zid kroginkrog in v slavo mu bodem sredi njega.

⁶Come! Come! Flee from the land of the north,’ says Yahweh; ‘for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the sky,’ says Yahweh.

⁶Oh, oh, bežite iz severne dežele! govori GOSPOD; kajti na četvere vetrove neba sem vas razkropil, govori GOSPOD.

⁷‘Come, Zion! Escape, you who dwell with the daughter of Babylon.’

⁷Oh, Sion, béži, ki prebivaš pri babilonski hčeri!

⁸For thus says Yahweh of Armies: ‘For honor he has sent me to the nations which plundered you; for he who touches you touches the apple of his eye.

⁸Kajti tako pravi GOSPOD nad vojskami: Da prejmem slavo, me je poslal k poganskim narodom, ki so vas plenili; zakaj kdor se vas dotakne, se dotakne punčice očesa njegovega.

⁹For, behold, I will shake my hand over them, and they will be a spoil to those who served them; and you will know that Yahweh of Armies has sent me.

⁹Kajti, glej, jaz zavihtim roko nad njimi, in bodo v plen tistim, ki so jim sužnjevali; in spoznate, da me je poslal GOSPOD nad vojskami.

¹⁰Sing and rejoice, daughter of Zion; for, behold, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of you,’ says Yahweh.

¹⁰Glasno poj in veséli se, hči sionska! zakaj jaz, glej, prihajam in bom prebival sredi tebe, govori GOSPOD.

¹¹Many nations shall join themselves to Yahweh in that day, and shall be my people; and I will dwell in the midst of you, and you shall know that Yahweh of Armies has sent me to you.

¹¹In tisti dan se pridruži veliko poganskih narodov h GOSPODU in bodo meni za ljudstvo; v tvoji sredi pa bom prebival, in spoznaš, da me je GOSPOD nad vojskami poslal k tebi.

¹²Yahweh will inherit Judah as his portion in the holy land, and will again choose Jerusalem.

¹²In GOSPOD prejme v last Judo kot svoj delež v sveti zemlji in zopet si izvoli Jeruzalem.Naj molči vse meso pred GOSPODOM! kajti vstal je iz prebivališča svetosti svoje.

¹³Be silent, all flesh, before Yahweh; for he has roused himself from his holy habitation!”
